  • Having never pulled an engine apart before, I started the process on my classic mini 1275 engine. The first task was to remove the Flywheel of which was relatively easy until I managed to self-impose issues doing my best to screw it up. The Guess Works Flywheel puller is a MUST for anyone planning to rebuild their mini engine. Thanks to Paul Jeffries for helping get through my self-imposed challenges.

Amen brother!! John with Guess Works educated me today. I wish I knew what I learned prior as I would not have had any issue whatsoever. Love learning... sometimes I don’t like learning the hard way

Randy the quality of your videos are off the scale sir - nice work. That tool looks amazing I think I will have to invest in one of those for myself.

Thanks Kevin... the Guess Works tool is outstanding. I did order the KAD flywheel puller, but it arrived in a rusted used condition (no joke). They were upstanding enough to refund, so I ordered the Guess Works. Let me just say that the quality and service is above par. Totally recommend if you ever purchase one.

Great Stuff Randy! I'm doing this exact job this weekend and like you i'm new to it so i'll record it and let people laugh stupidness. 😅

Thanks Mark!! One lesson that I only learned today (after the fact) is that the flywheel will only move approximately 6mm before you can remove the tool and pull off by hand. So with the guess works tool, it really is a simple process

Hé Randy awesome video’s! Thanks for making them.
I can’t find you on google. We’re are you in Texas and do you also have short blocks for sale / other parts ?

Good day!! I’m in central texas and I’m looking for parts as I go through my restoration. Therefore, no I do not have parts for sale. Had a machine shop screw up my block.. I may have to buy a block myself….

Good job Randy, when not in the know these jobs can be frustrating. I am not looking forward to starting on the engine.

Thanks Brian, I learned a few valuable lessons of which I’m going to post. If I had known prior, removing the flywheel would have been rather simple

I believe it would fit with the engine installed in the car....yes. It works incredibly well!!

I don't think that aligning the slot mattered at all, it is just a clutch, it has nothing to do with timing.
