Looks a nice lightened Flywheel assembly, I used to lap the flywheel onto the crank I was using first, then bolt it on to the crank, set up in a lathe and machine a couple of tracking bands to use as datums. Then remove from the crank, and lighten using the datums to set up to as I found originals did not always run that true. Still very interesting.
Considering that the friction disc will rotate relative to the other parts, you should surely balance this first separately, prior to balancing the whole assembly?
Great video as always. I’ve got a verto ST1 from you guys, but a failed crank seal meant oil made its way onto the clutch plate. I’ve marked TDC on the fly and pressure plate, both of which had material removed to balance. If I take the clutch out and replace, and Install in the same orientation, reckon this would knock it out of balance again? No material is to be removed from the clutch plate.
Yes this should work fine. The Verto cover is dowelled in place, unlike the earlier type in this video. So there's less chance of knocking the balance out when swapping a clutch plate.
Hello ,make a fantastic tecnical videos. I have a orange diafragm on a preverto clutch... The spring, how many comprees? So that it does not slide and there is an adequate pedal path
This video has convinced me to purchase the MED road clutch kit for my SPi Mini. Any chance you do installations on your customers cars? That would be the ultimate end to end purchase!
That would be ideal, but no ramp/car facilities here unfortunately. We tend to recommend our local Mini specialist Southam Mini Metro for installation, as they're geared up for it! The SPi assembly is a bit different - something for a future video.
@@MEDEngineeringTechVideos Given the dearth of replacement quality parts for injection Minis, I'm confident that focused content highlighting road modifications for them will be popular! Not all of us will take our Minis to the track so a trusted engineering company like MED is one of a few options for injection Mini road cars.
Do you guys make and sell diaphragms? Been trying to buy orange or grey spec ones now for some time and AP racing stopped making them. Can you do a video on the different specs please👍
We've been out of stock of the orange and greys for over a year but there's light at the end of the tunnel. Hoping to have a new batch in production soon, as we've had to make do with second hand units.
Thank you for the reply Ive been trying to source even a second hand unit for my supercharged build. would you be interested in making a video about the different specs and applications based on HP and torque as well as touching base on the out of stock reasons and whats been done to resolve the this.
These vids really are excellent
Great job thanks mate from Australia 🇦🇺.

@@darryl3392 sure. We did include it in this video but it was over 30 minutes long on the first edit!
@@darryl3392 Yes, we'll pop it on the 'to do' list!
Oh god you mean I can't just assemble it in my lap and drop half the screws?
