Thank you for the video. This seemed like a great stay at home project so I bought and just received your kit in the mail from Amazon. I was wondering before I paint, why did you prime such a large area - all the way to the edge of the bumper - where there were absolutely no scratches anywhere near that area? I understand i should prime the scratches. I also should scuff the paint throughout to prep for blending to help with adhesion but why prime such a vast area where there were no scratches in that section (by the edge of the bumper)?
Hi! I'm curious, why don't you sand only the scratches? You sand a bigger part than just the scratches? ( I have some scratches like that on my bumper and I wanted to know) thanks
You want to sand the whole area that you are going to paint over, this is so that the paint will actually stick to your vehicle. Without sanding the paint will not hold or stick, because sanding will remove the car's previous layer of clear coat, which is needed in these types of repairs. You want to do this so that the paint blends into the old paint, so you do not get striping or any blemishes. Hope this helps!

What grit sandpaper are you using after applying the primer?
