Great video, thank you. I have a very specific question about the Nest Hub Max regarding watching content. For example, if I'm watching a UA-cam video and I pause it then leave the room (or just ignore it) for a long period of time, when I come back the the Hub, can I continue where I left off? The thing that really infuriates me about my current assistant - Amazone Echo Show 8 - is that no matter what your settings are, if you pause anything for more than 10 minutes, it returns to the home screen, and you have to go searching for the content you were previously watching. INFURIATING!
I feel like a huge lacking integration is sufficient ability to remote control a Google TV/CC, i.e, with directional buttons. Not just play/pause, next, etc. I'd totally use the hubs strictly as table top remotes if this was possible.
Does anyone know if the Gen 2 hubs are faster than the Gen 1? When I first bought it, everything worked fine. But now, it literally sucks. When the doorbell rings, it takes longer than 5 seconds to show me who is there. If I wait any longer, the person walks away, especially courier services. I can't even use it for the reason why I bought it. Many people online are saying Google abandoned Nest services, making them run on old servers, which is why they're so slow. So in my mind, buying a Gen 2 won't change the fact that it's slow as #*&!@. Thoughts?
I just got one and set it up. I am a little disappointed with the lack of immediately viewable features compared to the smaller Hub, but after saying "Hey Google. Show doorbell on [display name]," it did show up. Granted I do have the Google doorbell though.
@30ART5 yeh they work great with Google.. but not Ring.. I will probably get rid of the whole Ring ecosystem from my home soon and replace it with something more compatible with 3rd party apps and devices
I have 4 of these, they suck... Big time, there laggy AF... Thank God for best buy geek squad protection, cause I'm about to swap then out for 4 pixel tabs...
🤔 Google Meet needs some improvement for 2025. Google meet and Google duo video calling on the Google nest hub max just can't work together with the Phone and chromebook plus laptop because group video calling features on Google Meet just not available on the Google nest hub max, which can make video calling on Google Meet so confusing, group video calling should be fun on Google nest hub max just like on Google Meet
I don't know what the hell you're talking about, but the max sucks royally you can't move the apps. You can't adjust the apps. You can't add apps. It sucks...now no games but the stupid app is still there...the news app sucks...the story app sucks...the shopping app sucks..i dont need sling, Netflix, yt tv...it sucks...
In my opinion, the most important thing that should be on these screens is monitoring home cameras, and for some reason this function is not there.
I just picked one up it's AMAZING. I had the smaller nest hub for awhile this one is on a whole new level
You didnt mention the video calling which is the only reason why i would get it
I use Meross smart switched I wonder if this max works with that platform
The Lenovo 10" Smart Display was superb. It was shame Google killed it.

Good point, however these days with everything going to voice command I wouldn’t be surprised if they eliminated the buttons all together
I have a Google hub😅😅😊😊😊
what's replacing them?
The only thing I can think of is something with higher resolution, and motion capability with a better speaker and WiFi6
So nest hub games going away?
I saw they announced that, I wonder what the plan is!

it's super slow with either gen 1 or gen 2 - google's tech in these hubs is extremely dated. save your money and wait for the new models
If i could use this to answer my ring doorbell id buy it

Thank you very much very helpful
I like the straight forward of this product review, Also your name is way cool. Sounds like a MMA fighter Asher "Blood of the Tiger" Nasir
Facial recognition makes me not want to buy it, technology is becoming tech-NO-Logic kinda dystopian

Most useless device, can’t even view all nest cams all at once.
You can't? Seriously?!
@@TonyMoleman490 seriously.
Va
why would any one voluntarily allow google to have facial recognition of themselves ? I don't want to allow it.
L
hold that
It always feels like , somebody's watching me!
