Seen someone had their ratchet straps stored this way on a job site and I'm so glad I found a video showing how it's done! Absolutely perfect way to store your straps!
I’ve seen quite a few different techniques for this. Yours definitely wins!! Can literally just toss them around into the tool box and never have them come undone. 🏆
Thank you. My hubby is terrible about storing the straps, has made me crazy! It took me a few tries, but I succeeded, I have fixed the whole box! Your tutorial is the best.
Thank you so much! I tried to watch someone else's video multiple times and couldn't figure out what he was doing. He didn't explain it very well at all. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This was the most useful video I've ever seen I see other people do with the other way and weird way but thank you for how to tutorial this video was actually very useful
I really like the way you store your ratchet straps. Bravo!!! I will be doing it this way from now on, thank you so much, I’ve always to use other ways like rubber bands and the like… but no more!!! Thanks to you!
Excellent! May i politely suggest, fold the long lead in half or thirds, leaving a pigtail for the ratchet. Especially, on long straps, it will roll much quicker and straighter. Great great technique 👍
Amazing - Clean and tight - I have to admit I tweaked the technique on the final part. Instead of going through the ratchet bar on the final loop I went back under the tie bar like the first loop and then came out the tie bar. Looks like I have a tail on my ratchet. After a couple of trials, doing so helped me untangle when I tightened it too tight. Mine doesn't look as clean but it helped me release the ratchet easier - Again Amazing - Thank you for posting!
guau!! incredible easy when someone solve it !and explained so .... thank you so much for sharing your work on that it helps me a lot !! from Argentina saludos Juan Manuel
thanks for showing a very clean emthod for really seldom use and for people with lots of time and patience. sorry, my day has only 24 h and i need my ratchets nearly daily! so i ut them, wen not wet, into a 6l frozen back . needs a bit more space but saves me tons of time in a month and the straps are protected from dirt, dust and humidity.
I thought I had found the best way and I ironically had just finished wrapping all my straps just B4 finding this video. 🙃 I think this will be a much easier and better way. I'll try it out soon. will update
This is a great method. But it takes a while. Someone told me quickest way is just fold in half, half again, etc then half Hitch. A lot faster but not as compact.
Crap….now I have to go open the bed bin, pull out a strap and try that for myself. Yeah, I already now I’ll be doing it three more times after that first one!
Been usin this method for a while now... If you use the straps every now and then it's great, but if you use them everyday it's a pain, better use a strap winder
If you can loop your tail end quickly, you can fold it to a size you like and fold the ratchet and one of those Nite-ize twist wraps in the proper size they work for quick secure wraps. Get enough length to make a tail to hang it wherever you store your straps.
Excellent strap storing idea! Before your next video please clean the Vaseline off the camera lens before recording. Also please wear an external mic to level the audio. Thank you.
There is a lot easier way. Close the ratchet, you will see that the sides extend, wrap the excess around the total ratchet then take the short part of the strap and wrap the whole thing then thread the hook through and it will hold it all together.
Great for storage, but now you have strap wound around ratchet barrel, essentially jamming it all up and whole deal to get it apart. Then you have to thread it all up again to use strap since it threaded through non- functional part of mechanism. Id say storage only, not solution for immediate everyday use. Does look cool though 👀
I believe that this method is primarily for those of us who occasionally need them. For someone like me, it is the storage until I need them again issue. For someone who has constant usage, some other form may be better.
No click bait, right to the point, great explanation… just clean & simple!
Great content! Great storage technique!
You are the terminator of ratchet strap storage, thanks for taking the time to figure this out and post the video!

this is genius. I've spent years with these straps hanging on hooks in my garage until today. this will be my new method of storage
3 years later and still helping out. Good stuff!
Thank you. My hubby is terrible about storing the straps, has made me crazy! It took me a few tries, but I succeeded, I have fixed the whole box! Your tutorial is the best.
I like this method better than any other I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing!

I've tried other ways, but yours is the cleanest. The maintenance team at work was impressed that i knew how to do this. Thank you.
BRILLIANT! By far the best method I have ever seen. Thank you for posting this. You have changed my life.

Best way to wrap up a ratchet strap by far! Thank you for taking the time and sharing.

Great great technique 👍
THIS!!
You legend, that’s the best method I have seen yet. Thank you Elvis
I learned how to take care of the unused strap from another UA-camr and I was happy
I saw yours, I am more happier
Brilliant! Give this man the Nobel prize! Thanks!
This is of more value than previous Nobel Prize winners
@@joer5627 More recent winners anyway.
I just might have been the easiest cleanest way I've seen so far thank you
Dude!!! SO slick. And I could hear you perfectly. This is a great educational video. Thank you so very much!
Not cutting out or speeding up the wrapping procedure enhanced the video and adds to the suspense.
Worked out great. I did twelve for my brother and showed him how to do it, thankyou

Badass man you just helped me turn a ridiculous pile into perfectly stored items.
Great stuff, man! I’ve been looking for something like this forever. I’m definitely gonna like and follow.
Damn genius. It even worked on my oversized CAT brand with hooks laying sideways from Costco. Thank you for sharing sir!
Well that's awesome! I used to just tie it around in a big ball or sometimes just leave a tangled pile , 😂. This is so much better! Thanks!
I have tried so many ways to wind up my wratched straps this one is brilliant, thank you Wretched strap
Absolutely helped me out. Simple but genius.
Outstanding. Now I need to go sort out my "birds nest" of rachet straps.
Started a new job running the warehouse. This really helped keep our straps neat and easy to maintain.
How’s the job going?
@@NellaTheFella tough but good. It requires a wide range of technical abilities I haven't faced before. Thanks for asking.
It’s always nice to learn new things. I hope it goes good for you!
Thank you so much for posting this video. Took me a few times as I am not the sharpest knife but finally did it. Once again thank you and God Bless.
Totally brilliant. Tidy, easy to remember. The best!
This worked perfectly. Brilliant. Thank you!
Thanks for your video, great method of keeping things organized
Really Great video, simple explanation and very helpful, Thank you.
Worked for me! Thanks! I left the short hook unrolled so I can hang it on a utility rack!
Awesome technique. I can't imagine wearing gloves for such a task working with clean materials, but good demo.
Nice info. Just what I needed to clean up my gear storage.
wow! ran to garage and did the same to my straps...👍👍👍👍👍👍👍...best of the best... #1
guau!! incredible easy when someone solve it !and explained so .... thank you so much for sharing your work on that it helps me a lot !! from Argentina saludos Juan Manuel
This is definitely the best way for both strap types! Everyone learning, look no further.. 👍
Nice, thanks! I learnt a different way but this is better and easier to remember.
Scot, super idea! Heading to the garage to make some changes to all my tie down straps!
Definitely how i'll be storing my straps from now on thanks!

Thanks for the quick and to the point video. I learned something. I rip off those annoying tags. You might too for cleaner look and use.
Just what I was looking for! Thank you!
“What if I told you that you can use a ratchet strap to strap down the ratchet strap?”
I tried that a few days ago but found I left the hook attached to the ratchet still free. That worked out. Giving me a way the hang the thing.
Fantastic tutorial! Thanks for sharing.
Don’t usually believe video that say “the best” but this really is the best way to do it
Only video that made sense to me. Thank you!!
I thought I had found the best way and I ironically had just finished wrapping all my straps just B4 finding this video. 🙃 I think this will be a much easier and better way. I'll try it out soon. will update
That was awesome! Thanks for finally figuring it out
Great! Couple other methods out there but, they just didn't work with my size straps. I imagine this would work with any
Very Cool!!
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺
You are a master of the ratchet crativity
How did you roll up the blue one??? Can you show how you did that?
Great video, to the point and it works!
Thank you for sharing. Awesome and informative video.
What type of gloves would you recommend during the handling process of rachet straps?
Great job Scot. Best method I have seen by far.
Thank you for this my friend.
Wow great technique 👏
I don’t want to ask stupid questions but how do you undo it. I can’t get the end that went into the ratchet out
Im confused, whats the reason for wearing the latex gloves?
This is a great method. But it takes a while. Someone told me quickest way is just fold in half, half again, etc then half Hitch. A lot faster but not as compact.
Works perfectly, thank you!

I knew there had to be a way to get the ratchet action to hold the strap and hooks in place. Thank you very much.
Awesome job ❣️
Why not show how to bring them into use after storage?
I do this too, but I go through the eye of the last hook so I can hang my straps 👍
Excellent video works great thanks brother
Thank you, your way is the best way
now they're to perty to use again. great job ... thanks
The Rachetnator
After 2 years, the best way is still to just throw them in a tool box, trunk, cubby, etc and untangle them when needed. 🤣 Seriously, nice technique.
How do you undo it after
At $70 per hour (my shop rate) it cost over 5 dollars to roll up the ratchet strap. I can untangle it in less than 1 minute.
Thank you! Finally found a way to do this!!
Great technique!
Thanks, this was helpful.
Does the tail end go through the slot on the ratchet both times, or just on the final wrap?
How hard is it now, to release? Took you to long to wrap. Easier to pile in a box until needed😂
Excellent strap storing idea!
Before your next video please clean the Vaseline off the camera lens before recording. Also please wear an external mic to level the audio. Thank you.
This was great I think it would be good to redo this with better audio.
wow did you really think of that all by your self!!!!
Great idea. Thank you.
U take the cake 🎂 my friend
Thanks for some direction!
There is a lot easier way. Close the ratchet, you will see that the sides extend, wrap the excess around the total ratchet then take the short part of the strap and wrap the whole thing then thread the hook through and it will hold it all together.
Genius ..only person on youtube to figure it out Thanks its a big help
Thank you sir you are a god send.
Perfect! Now where are the rest of those ratchet straps….
Agreed. Maybe not the best for frequent use but definitely the most compact and secure for storage.
@@carchi1 Yep I second that...but looks way cool!!
I believe that this method is primarily for those of us who occasionally need them. For someone like me, it is the storage until I need them again issue. For someone who has constant usage, some other form may be better.
For the win !!
👍👍👍
Great info.
