    I'm a first time gun owner. I have the Sig P365 XL. Thank you for the way you put this video together. I found it informative and easy to follow along with. I was able to clean my gun with ease watching you. My first time cleaning my weapon went well. I recommend this video to newbies like me.

      same boat. Only thing was I saw yellow on the spring and panicked. Turns out it’s just a marking, not any damage like I initially thought. Shot 50 rounds right after buying, just got a cleaning kit and used this video to help.

    I purchased my first Sig Sauer (P365xl) about a year ago. I do not shoot it a lot but I do carry it quite often. I do not clean it as religiously as some of my other guns. When I do clean the sig your video is a nice refresher course. The P365 is a little different animal then a S&W, Colt or Glock and everything runs smooth for me after brushing up with your refresher.
    Thanks

    Dude thank you so much, something about this was extremely daunting to me, never had a father figure to show me stuff like this and no friends that were interested in guns. I was lost trying to read what to do in the manual because I’m more of a visual learner so this made it so easy for me, I even found it quite enjoyable. Thank you again 🤙🏻

I will probably regret not wearing gloves sooner in my ownership of cleaning firearms but better late than never. That P365 XL is a great choice. Travis thank you for this video. I’m late to the game on the firearm but just picked up the 365XL and love it. So much steadier than my p938 which could never really get quite right.
    Quick question for you on reassembly. Once I’ve put the slide back on and used the slide lock to keep it open. The moment I go to rotate the take down lever back into position, it automatically engages the slide lock and the slide jolts forward into a ready position. Instead, of what it looks like when you do it, where you rotate the take down lever and then are able to manually release the slide lock. Any thoughts on that?
    Thank you in advance for any insight.

As you probably know I have watched 100’s of videos and been taught by probably 50 people and their similar but their are different ways. So I am constantly looking at every one I see offering their methods because when it comes to guns in my opinion you can’t get enough education on everything about them. Thank You again.

      You cannot rely on common sense, ever. This video is aimed at new gun owners and should demonstrate the highest in safety procedures. I am getting back into shooting and just got a P365. 20 years ago I used Hoppes 9 Solvent and Hoppes 9 gun oil and just used that to clean my P365. I am looking to switch to the Clenzoil. Does that dry after you apply it or does it stay wet like Hoppes gun oil? Do you apply a little more Clenzoil if you are going to the range? Or do you apply another oil?

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  2 роки тому

      Is stays lubricated but isn’t wet like Safariland CLP. I have left guns in the safe for 6 months or more after being cleaned with Clenzoil and they run just fine. You could add a drop or two to moving or contact surfaces before a range trip. But unless you have a finnicky action in your firearm that requires a lot of oil, you should be good to go.

  • @leoguy1609
    @leoguy1609 2 роки тому +1

    Problem with CLP it can contaminate primers and try not to use it as much as possible. Should always clean the breach face upside down to prevent solvent and debris from entering the firing pin channel. One product I won't use is Tetra Gun oil caused the slide on my P 226 to rust in two hours when I was carrying it, little did I know it reacts badly to salt like in Sweat!

    • @travisp11

      @@travisp11 yeah, this isn’t as difficult, there are a couple of videos on UA-cam that’ll help get the job done, I think. Thank you so much! I’m a new gun owner picked up the 365xl yesterday and learned a lot. I did it from book but still had questions. After watching im just still a bit confused on how much CLP/Oil to leave on it after cleaning. I know it’s good to keep some on but too much is also bad. My main concern is the spring. I have it set perfect but I’m not sure how the it is supposed to look on the outside or if it matters when it’s put back together. Is sideways oval or vertical oval good?

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  2 роки тому +1

      Just put a drop or two of CLP on a patch and wipe down the barrel and rails and you will be set. It’s ok to have a little extra oil on there when you get done and I have left firearms in the safe for years and the CLP is still there.

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  2 роки тому +1

      You may need to clarify which spring you are taking about. If it’s the recoil spring then it locks into the barrel and the spring should be horizontal from the side when you look at it.

    • @tylerdinoto8210
      @tylerdinoto8210 2 роки тому +1

      @@travisp11 thanks! i am a little farther along with my 365XL now. if you ever do an update and can borrow somebody's Sig with the manual safely, you may want to demonstrate removing the slide and more to the point, reassembling it; that little pin gets all but ignored in the Sig manual, and it can be a big frustration if you don't know about it.

      Mechanically there isn’t much difference other than the trigger mechanism and an optics plate cut. I would imagine cleaning is nearly identical
