I got my girlfriend a P365 because she liked the grip and size, it's been okay reliable she's had a few failure to lock open and some spent casings stuck inside the chamber. Out of over 2000 rounds it' had about 8 failures in total which is bad on my book but she's fine with it. My brother's G43X has well over 15K rounds and it's never given him one issue even with crap aluminum and steel case ammo. I'll see if I can convince her to switch to a G43X.

I have the P365xl for 12 months. 1500+ rds, 8 different types of ammo. 115/124/147 fmj and jhp. No malfunctions. I carry it every day and shoot it at least twice a month. I run the 12rd and 17rd mags.
I agree with you. Any failure would keep me from carrying it. So far no issues, but from what I read, they definitely have some QC issues.

For real. I only tell people to do their own research and not just get what’s popular. I had to find something cheap for my first one to train and learn on and it became one of my favorite guns of all time and it only cost me $350 to get the beretta apx centurion. My dad got a Glock 19 actually first and I learned on that platform but turns out I sucked with it. I took some intro courses and needed my own gun so I needed something cheap and comfortable and just got the beretta the sales rep suggested. As I learned more and trained I found my own match. My buddy bought a sig because it’s popular even tho we both can’t shoot it worth a damn. He swears by it because the brand and popularity and craps on what other people (me) have. Never understood it.

I've had a few pretty really strong aversions to what somebody was carrying. IF the subject comes up, I'll tell them the story that led to my opinion. IF it comes up, I'll tell them what I know about the weapon. Notice: Weapon. This is not just guns that I'm talking about. And then if that's what they want to do, it's their choice, it's their decision. If it does NOT come up, then I won't bring it up. Simple. Easy.

First off I appreciate the content!
I can only give my experience. I bought my regular P365 in December of 2019, it was an impulse purchase intended to replace my Beretta Pico that up until a few weeks prior ran flawlessly then started to not go all the way into battery, not without a nudge anyways. So I went home and youtubed the 365. *Que the Military Arms Channel videos about it then* Light primer strikes and all. I was pissed I spent $600 on a paper weight but I decided to give it a chance and run some ammo out of it. First day I ran 300 rounds of 115 grain FMJ no issues. The following weekend I ran 500 rounds, mostly 115g and 124g FMJ with some same weight HP's. Again no issues. About a month went by and I did more research, it seamed SIG fixed the issues. I was feeling better about the purchase but decided if I was going to carry it I needed to know how it handles HP's. So I dropped $200 on various brands and types of HP's. From 124g HST's to 50g Civil Defense and everything in-between. Everything ran flawlessly and I have been carrying it ever since and shoot and train with it often. 4 years later it now has well over 7,000 rounds through it with ZERO malfunctions what so ever and I have only cleaned it a hand full of times. No light primer strikes, no FTE or FTF. And it's completely stock with tritium iron sights that still glow, original mags, and I haven't even replaced the guide rod spring like recommended by SIG every 2500 rounds. This thing just runs, but I have heard the horror stories, so I reckon I just got lucky. Maybe I ought to knock on wood.....and replace that guide rod. 🤔😆

Not as many rounds as you have a 1,000 rounds through my macro. About 600 through my 365. I know half a dozen people with 0 issues with their 365s. I believe Tactical Hyve has over 50,000 rounds on one of his 365s. Also a couple of other people with high round count 365s. I wouldn’t be to worried I digress, there have been a few one with issues most as I can tell developed around 300 -600 rounds if they were going to have issues.
I will probably build another one using Fdez works parts.
      Have a good one.

But I have owned and carried both the 19 and 32 for many many years I’ve had several problems over the years with both especially the 19 mostly mag related and extraction issues. But were easy fixes. Last year I picked up the 365 spectre comp and I’m still blown away how small it is for a 17+1 gun super comfortable to carry. A little over 500rds in and no problems so far it’s a laser.

When I was deciding to upgrade my EDC from a Beretta APX A1 Carry last year, I had some criteria on what features I wanted in my next EDC gun. #1: I wanted at least 10 rounds. #2: I wanted it to be optics ready (didn't want a red dot just then but figured I may in the future) #3: I wanted a weapon mounted light, specifically the tlr 7 sub, not the tlr6 because of the paddles. #4 I wanted a reputable brand name firearm. No caniks, taurus, iwi. (not to say anything bad about those brands, just my preference) And #5: (this was the big one) Had holster support at all with all those attachments. This proved to be the biggest issue. I was originally leaning towards the G43x because it gave me all those options with plenty of holster support. But turns out I don't shoot Glocks very well. I felt a bit discouraged because the most popular handgun brand on the market felt unnatural in my hands. And I was a bit upset about how long the grip was for only 10 rounds but didn't want to even try aftermarket mags for 15 rounds. I tried the G26 as well but just couldn't get over how physically thick the gun is. I'm a smaller guy, so a G19 sized "compact" is a bit out of my carry range. Then it was between the Hellcat and the P365. My buddy has a Hellcat and my little sister has a p365 (base model), so I got to shoot both to decide. I love both guns and just judging on shoot-ability, they were both neck and neck. I eventually went with a p365 just because it ticked all my boxes and had better holster support. After that, I went to Vedder to have a custom-made holster to fit my gun with a tlr7 sub and never looked back. I do 100% recognize people having rust issues all over and I do 100% agree that I shouldn't be even worrying about rust with a $500 gun. But I've cranked about 1k rounds over the last year (I like to go the range at least once a month) and she's thankfully been 100% reliable. I trust this particular gun I have but that's just me. I also don't consider myself a "sig fan boy" or anything fan boy. I just like guns, the more reliable the better.

Did you have the 365 issues while running that Zaffari barrel I've heard many negative things about them?
Your lockup issue sounds like a magazine issue or low velocity ammo while shooting with +1 (fully loaded magazine with 1 in the camber). Its to much pressue pushes up on slide slows down slide and slide cant load next round (very top round in full magazine). When new the 365's can have this issue but after some break in the mag spring loosens up.
Its funny im having the issue that same issue with a Glock 43 right now Im trying to work it out but the thing is I know exactly what the issue is its the +2 Taran extension and the stiff magazine spring as described above. I'm trying to work through it and keep the Taran +2 but the mag spring is so tight i'm not sure it sill work out and would need to spend lots of money on the carry ammo I use which is Barnes Tac XPD 1125fps. Carry ammo expensive just to work through that issue for that particular ammo.
I'm completely with you about if a gun fails a couple times without any logical reason I won'r carry it.
I have all confidence in the Hellcat Pro I put an Apex trigger shoe on it thats it and thousands of rounds later and it has cycled EVERYTHING feels so solid and the finish is quality. You should check one out, I did not like the regular Hellcat to snappy compared to 43 amd 365 but the Hellcat Pro is a different story.

@34dawgsgo I here you. I always considered the pistol sights to be more reflex based systems than something more accuracy based like an lpvo. For that reason, if I see green come up in my eyeline, I fire at the target past it.
Most shooting occur within 30 feet, and that seems like the enough (lack of space) to get away with less accuracy (not that you would want to blind fire or anything).
That being said, a flashlight and some nice tritium sights are great as the two main accessories to any EDC.

I truly wanted to love the 365 , in fact I have never tried a new gun at the range and felt so immediately accurate with it. By the time I saved up to pick one up I went back to the range I had rented one at before. I asked to rent it once more to confirm for a final decision. The range master was straight forward with me and told me it had broke to the point of needing to be sent back to sig . I remarked that it must have been seeing a lot of rental use but he was clear that they routinely cleaned and maintained them equally. I decided to do a little more research and asked different owners directly about issues and most hadn't had any, but I still didn't feel ready to pick one up.

Never had any issues with my 80s and early 90s production P22x Sigs. Love them. Shot the hell out of them, thousands of rounds each. A handful failures over that time.
I bought a p365 Tacops last yr, first P3xx polymer frame Sig I ever owned…and the last.
Extraction failures and failures to load, one or two rounds for every box I put through it - over a thousand plus rounds, thinking maybe it was break in. I tried half a dozen reliable-in-every-other-firearm factory ammo brand, some were worse, but NONE were 100% reliable in that thing. Spent money on mags, grip modules, springs, extractors…no change.
Can’t and won’t say this is a persistent Sig quality issue, but the quality of the polymer frame P365 I bought last year vs the half dozen alloy and steel frame sigs I havee owned over the prior 30 years, not even in the same frickin league.
I gave it a shot, I won’t give it another…but I might wind up with another P229, P226, or P220 when I burn the ones I have to the ground (which means never of course).

I didn't have feeding issues with any of them, but one did have a trigger issue that occurred once that killed my confidence in the platform. After shooting a few hundred rounds one day it would intermittently not fire when the trigger was pulled. The gun wasn't out of battery, the trigger was hanging up occasionally; I cleaned it and it was fine, but my confidence was gone. I went back to the Glock platform, with Glocks and Shadow Systems and haven't regretted it. I like the simplicity of Glock; a monkey could assemble/disassemble an entire Glock pistol with 5 minutes of training and a single 3/32 punch. Glocks just run and will eat just about anything.

My P365 XL has over 5k rounds through it, no malfunctions. I trust my pistol with my life.
However, an acquaintance of mine had light primer strike issues that was caused by a buildup of grease in the striker channel assembly. Once he cleaned that out he's had no issues...but, as a result he doesn't use it as an EDC because he still has doubts on its reliability.

I was around when the Sig Sauer P225, 228, 220 and 229 were new on the gun store shelves. I’ve owned them all and still do, six to be exact. They worked right out of the box flawlessly and are to this day are still super accurate. I recently bought a Legion P229. But even with that purchase I dragged my feet being concerned about the quality. I have 800 rounds through the Legion with no hiccups. But I’m still not trusting it 100%. Several hundred more and I will. I also have a Gen 3 G19 and a G26 and have never had a single malfunction after thousands of rounds.

Disclaimer before I say more, I carried the original 1980's West German stamped P226, still one of the most accurate, reliable, and rugged pistols I have ever carried. That being said, current Sig's made here in the States will NEVER be the same quality of the German made guns. The rash of issues with American Sigs are because the company's quality control is not what it should be. I do believe that some end users get some of their firearms which have properly spec'd parts and will likely render good service but with the company's batch testing and parts outsourcing, it is a crap shoot. My P320c suffered the typical Dead Trigger issue all due to an out of spec trigger par. The P320 FCU is hypersensitive to the parts specs and timing. So no, no more Sigs for me. All personal experience from 3 decades of using multiple brands of duty type firearms.

Sig Sauer USA is essentially a different company than the Sig Arms of Germany that made Sig the name it still is today. My first handgun was a German made Sig P220 and that pistol was a far different animal compared to the typical Sig P365 or P320 that you pick up today. Mechanically it was a smoothly timed fine Swiss watch while the new Sigs are more of a Casio G-shock. The new USA produced P226 and others that came from the European era are still great guns because the designs were excellent. But once Sig started developing new designs in the US and using the consumer as a final test group, it's all gone to shit with some of their models. I specifically chose my current G43x over a P365 XL because of the trigger. I so wanted to buy the Sig because of the name, the aesthetics of the gun, the extra 2 round capacity and the slightly better ergonomics, but the trigger was absolutely atrocious. The thing has zero wall to break, lots of creep and mushy. The Glock trigger may be heavy but it is as crisp as a Giessele in comparison. I was not impressed with the base model compact P320 for similar reasons. Nobody wants to believe it though. It seems like the gun world is blindly obsessed with Sig because the name has been such a titan historically.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’ve ran 1400 rounds through 3 variants of them without failure. Hellcat is a good choice, so is the Shield Plus. But for me, the P365 fits my hand better.
As far as rust, not a single bit on the 4 models that I have. (One is a spare). Zero rust issues, and I carry everyday in south Louisiana humidity.
I previously owned a G43 that stovepiped on me a couple times. Shooter error no doubt, but for me, not as reliable in my hands as my Sigs.
Carry whatever you trust, train, and feel comfortable with. Who cares what anyone else carries. But if the issues you point out here, were as widespread as you say “thousands and thousands,” it would be blowing up UA-cam a hell of a lot more than it is. I’m not buying it. To each his own.
Btw, nothing wrong with a G26 brother…makes way more sense than the 43x, and waaaay more sense than the G48.

I can relate to your points… have a P320C with under 500 rounds that had to go back to the factory. No issues ever since. Would love a P365 but if not reliable, forget it. I’ll stick with my Shield. Maybe get a Shield Plus.

My p365 had 500 flawless rounds, then started light striking. Sig fixed it. Dont trust it even though I have over 2000 flawless rounds thru it now.

I usually carry Glocks and have for decades now. My last carry gun is my Gen 3 Glock 19. I recently was in the market for a new smaller gun and had the chance to buy a 365 and was about to do so because it fits my hand so well as to be scary, but I went with an SA Hellcat instead (IMHO it has a better trigger pull). Now I am glad that I did. Since that day I have seen many videos regarding the reliability of the 365 as well as parts breakage being encountered. So, I dodged a bullet, pun intended. This is a shame because like you I believe their older guns are some of the best handguns ever devised. I have MANY SIGs and cherish them. I hope Sig fixes the issues because I would like one day to get one for a super concealable carry gun.

My 365x had the trigger reset spring come unattached around 400 rounds and I'll never trust it for edc again. Was an easy fix, but in a life and death situation I don't want to be thinking about if my gun is going to have a dead trigger after the first couple shots or not. I also found out sig's warranty is trash and that's a big problem for me. Wanted to charge me $55 for shipping to fix a $10 part because I owned it for longer than a year, even though it has a low round count.... gfy sig.

Sig is a lifestyle brand that focuses its attention on marketing and trends, instead of manufacturing. They outsourced manufacturing to India, and spend all their money on advertising, and marketing. Sig USA isnt even related to the original Swiss company SIG, or the German company Sig Sauer. Much like springfield of today has nothing to do with old Springfield that built the reputation modern springfield relies on.
Glock is a company that makes firearms for serious end users, such as military, and law enforcement. The SEALs, Delta Force, Green berets, SWAT teams... theyre carrying Glocks. German police had 500 Sig MCXs and half of them shit the bed in just a couple years. Now theyre moving to HK rifles.

Imagine the cost today of a P228, P226 made to the exact original specs and hand fitting. Maybe $1,800? The fact you can still find these guns used for $500-$700 is a steal.

The Swiss, and German made Sig P220s are amazing pistols, with great design. Wish Sig USA would import some Swiss stuff, but they will never do that.

The only issues I’ve ever had with my 365 is seating a new magazine on a closed chamber while under stress. My fault, didn’t slam the mag in hard enough. Thousands of rounds not 1 malfunction

Had a sig p365 i didn't like it after shooting it. Got the shield plus and it fit my hands better. Still have it but got a Iwi Masada Slim and i love it. Very accurate and if i need more rounds i can use cz75 mags in it.

Carried a P365 for a while. It was a decent pistol and I didn’t have any problems, but I just didn’t like it. The grip feels weird to me and I started second guessing it with all of Sig’s issues. Give me a Glock 43x any day of the week over this thing!

My P365xl with NO CUSTOMIZATION has run flawless from day one. Zero issues. Is my daily carry. Those laser sculpted grip panels and barrels and whatever else you’ve done to those pistols can introduce malfunctions that aren’t there in a factory gun. Just saying. I won’t say that a factory gun won’t malfunction because my Ruger LC9 malfunctioned until I re-machined the firing pin hole. What I’m saying is that if you heavily mod a carry gun you are asking for trouble.

I was hesitant to change my edc from a dan wesson dwx to an sig p365 axg legion. After 500rds flawless and 250 more hallow points I’m finding I somehow shoot it faster and more accurately then the dw. I can’t shoot Glocks.

Had a very early P365 model that was crap. Sent it back to Sig & was no better. Got rid of it for an early model Springfield Hellcat. No regrets. 100% reliable, out of the box & ever since. I also own Glocks, but don't carry them as much.

I had been interested in the 365 when it first came out. they were selling so fast I couldn't get ahold of one. I went into an Academy Sports and they actually had 1 for sale. I am not even joking, the salesman said "I gotta get it from the back". As he was walking up to the counter with the pistol in his hand, his manager walked up and said "is that the Sig 365"? he replied "yes". the manager immediately went over and grabbed the case and said "you can't let the customer even handle it, there's another recall on it". I was very upset because they would not even let me look at it. I wanted to feel the size and race the slide, etc... But, "no way sir, there is another recall, it's a safety liability thing". Keep in mind that this was at least 5 years ago. But I agree with the statement that "there have been alot of issues with the Sig 365".

lol I’m sure if there were issues 5 years ago that’s plenty of time to sort it out - I just went and bought the 365x and the 365 x macro last week on sale :)
