Now mike can take a punch too, but the stamina is what plays in alis favor, you see, ali can go 15 rounds no problem, but mike, from what I see, 6-7 rounds he slows down a little, now it's not that bad since he can go to 12 rounds, but, when your getting tagged a lot by a fast puncher, who may not hit reall hard but hard enough, over time, those light jabs are going to sting, then alis going in, throwing hooks cross's all that, and tyson going to try and catch ali but i dont happen when ali is on his game, in 66-67, thats his peak from what we seen, and was almost if not, untouchable, it's insane how good he was, and he was more faster then mike, better footwork, more agile, can take more hits and more punishment from what we seen and you could agure he was more skilled full. Well, this is America, and you entitled to your opinion. No one is unbeatable, and true boxing fans know this to be a true statement. From John L. Sullivan, Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, and Sonny Liston were beaten, and they considered LEGENDS of boxing. So honestly, how can he be considered the GOAT? People called Ali the greatest, because HE called himself the greatest, and it just caught on with the press.
@@CharlesBrown-yh7nk Like you say it's just an opinion. Regarding the boxers you mention, Sullivan was a bare-knuckle fighter and had very little movement. He would have been easily out boxed by prime Ali. Johnson lost 11 times & drew 9 against some fairly average opponents including Jess Willard who was hammered by Dempsey in 1 round. Dempsey himself was completely outboxed & beaten by Gene Tunney who was nowhere near as skilled as Ali. Louis & Marciano were too small to compete in Ali's era. As for Liston, Ali beat him twice. In regards to 20-30 round fights they happened very rarely and were fought at a very much slower pace than the fights from later years. The Thriller in Manilla fight took place years after his return from his 3+ years out of the ring, not the period I'm talking about. Ali could easily fight for 15 rounds at a high tempo before his ban as he did when punishing Ernie Terrell in the 'What's My Name' fight. Obviously in boxing no-one is unbeatable, one punch can change everything, but Ali was the closest I've seen as a heavyweight.
Without getting into too much of a technical analysis, Ali fought the two baddest men in boxing. They were supposed to be stronger and meaner than the dancing "light punching" heavyweight. Ali was supposed to get knocked out, killed. Anybody that thinks Tyson would beat him is underestimating the guy who isnt called "The Greatest" for nothing.
@@CharlesBrown-yh7nk ok Myke Tyson was almost 25 when he fought Ruddock and Ali was almost 25 when he fought Cleveland Williams and 25 when he fought Earnie Terrell. Ali would beat Tyson, when both were the same age of 25, which is considered to be their primes.
@@MMAJudge. How do you believe/think Ali would handle a full crushing Tyson right hand, left hook, right rib body shot, and upper cut? Or, do you believe Tyson would not land anything? People seem to have forgotten how fast/quick Tyson was, which is another reason he dominated in his era. If Frasier could stun Ali then Tyson could finish him, and Tyson was one the all time great finishers. Don't get wrong Ali was a great fighter, but to call him the GOAT would be to cancel out 100 years worth of heavyweights
@@CharlesBrown-yh7nk Ali was able to beat all the greatest fighters of his time He lost to Frazier, yes...but he came back and beat him twice He fought and beat Liston, who was a scary puncher. He beat George Foreman who could hit harder than Tyson and better stamina than Tyson. Tyson on the other hand, never beat a fighter who he lost to by fighting them again Ali v Tyson would play out like this in my opinion: Tyson would come out fast & strong in his usual style Ali would be defensive for the first 6-8 rounds. Tyson would eventually tire out after round 6 & Tyson would be defeated mentally after 8-9 rounds Ali would go more on the attack after Tyson begins to tire out Ali would either win on points if the fight went 12 rounds. 90% chance If we talking a 14 round bout... then Ali between rounds 11 to 14 Tyson could likely be KOd by Ali 95% chance of Ali winning from rounds 11 - 14 by a KO Tyson has small chance of beating Ali but only before round 7 ( about 35 % chance )
The easiest way to break this fight down, is… Tyson needs to win inside 4-5 rounds to win this fight. Considering Ali was never stopped, even by some of the heaviest hitters in heavyweight history, the likelihood of Tyson stopping him early, is 0. Ali would be smart enough to evade Tyson whilst he was at his most dangerous. Once in the later rounds, Ali would drag Tyson deep. I see Ali winning by a late stoppage, or points victory. Tyson’s only chance is a KO, and I just can’t see. Not saying it would be an easy fight for Ali either, he’d need to employ every trick in the book to keep Tyson at bay, but ultimately I think he’d do it.
I agree too. If the likes of Bonecrusher Smith and Tony Tucker (no disrespect) can go past 4-5 rounds against prime Tyson, prime Ali certainly can. And I also agree with the assessment of mental fortitude too. Ali for me ✌️
@@MMAJudge. Tyson was giving respect to his idol. Tyson way better and more powerful than Joe Frazier. Rope a dope would not work on Tyson. Nobody could just sit and get hit against Tyson. Foreman was just stupid and the ropes were let out so Ali could just sit and lay on ropes. I love all these fighters, but Tyson in his prime was too powerful/ Those body punches would be too much
@@stevekarb6190 I agree Tyson was better than Frazier, but unlike Frazier, Tyson didn't have the same type of conditioning for 15 round type of fights. Tyson was a great body puncher but Ali took body punches extremely well.
@@MMAJudge. No he wasn't. Ali don't fake what he says. He's always been like that as a Man and a Muslim. Go back to all his talk show interviews. he never says what he doesn't mean.
When you break down ll their abilities, x factors, and the mental aspect, it's very obvious Ali should be favored to win. He would not only get in Tyson's head, he'd break him down and drain him over the course of the fight with his footwork, spamming jabs to shut Tyson's eye, pull counters, tying Tyson up, and talking trash the whole time. Alii wins by TKO in 9-10 rounds if he presses the issue or wins a clear decision. Don't get me wrong, Tyson would make it very competitive and would probably win the first few rounds, but this is just a bad matchup for him psychologically even though his style should beat Ali on paper.
The outcome is obvious , just look ay their resumes , Ali's best Wins are 10 times more impressive than tyson's , Ali delt with floyd patterson who has a similar fighting style to tyson , and ali did fight people who hit harder , faster , more technical than tyson , Ali by TKO
Yeah Ali has the better resume. He fought all styles and even fought Tyson's peek a boo style of fighting. Ali said that Floyd Patterson was the most technical fighter he ever fought. It's not anything new to him. However Tyson never fought someone like Ali. Ali by TKO, I would be surprised if it went to a decision.
Ali would have finished Tyson before the fight , he would have gotten into his head and psychologically destroyed him ! Then he would have demoralised him in the ring.
Tyson was the complete fighter. Ali lays back and jabs and a few combos, but Tyson came at you, cut off the ring and did body damage that no fighter has ever done to Ali.
@@chriso8193 If Tyson was a complete fighter, how come he didn't have a single KO win after the 7th round? That showed he lacks conditioning. Also why did he lose to Buster Douglas?

Mike would have won Even though Ali was a master of his craft but he did get hit often.Mike also had those fast stunning punches rather than huge clubbing blows that you could prepare for!
Since they both lost about 3 years of great fights. I would say Tyson from the age of 17-21 would have given Ali all kinds of problems. But from the age of 22-34 it would have been all Ali.
I think you're looking at Mike Tyson and thinking great finisher guy who can really hit, had a real good chin you had to beat him to knock him out. And that is what Ali would have done, he would have frustrated him first of all and he would have stayed on the outside and beat him with the jab and when Mike would come in with that hook Ali would probably beat him with his left hook because his left hook was faster at times in the jab. Tyson would go for broke, and Ali would stifle it by getting inside on him talking to him walking him backwards and setting up how he wants to fight him from the outside. Some people kind of forget that Muhammad Ali was an excellent inside fighter. They sometimes look at him and think he was a jab guy but look at Ali fight on the inside with Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, George Foreman and you see how quick he is on the inside and how he beat you to the punch on the inside as well. That would be the only way Tyson could get off offensively, but it could be nullified with the fact that Ali was faster inside. You're talking about a 6 foot 3 inch guy vs a five feet 11 inch guy what's great athleticism and was not going to tire, that Tyson would have to follow all night and it's just not a very good fight esthetically for Mike Tyson. ALI IN A CAKE WALK DECISION, OR A STOPPAGE ON CUTS
Ali would wins and don't think there is much of a debate. Tyson would only have a punchers chance and that would be a punchers chance up against one the best chins in the history of heavyweight boxing too go along with some of the best reflexes in the history of the heavyweight division. Would be a tall order to ask Tyson to pull off a win against a guy who's a match up nightmare for him. A more interesting question would be what if Ali and Holmes meet at their peaks. I would pick Ali, but I think a prime Larry Holmes would do better against a prime Ali then a prime Mike Tyson would.
@@MMAJudge. The subject matter is Ali vs Tyson in their prime, and in their prime would have been both fighters are 23 years old, and that is because of Ali being stripped of his title and suspended for 4 years I believe, and Tyson going to prison for 3 years at age 25. Is Mohammed Ali could get up to around 7 without being knocked out? Then he would win but I wouldn't like to put any money on it. Either way, because they're both very good fighters. Even when Mohammed Ali is the better one with a stamina and can go to distance, it's hard to say.
Ali is too difficult to knock out. He would make it to the later rounds against Tyson. Tyson couldn't knock out all the fighters he fought and they were not on Ali's level.
Ali never got knocked out, never. And he ate heavy punches from Frazier, Norton, etc. Tyson might hit him hard, but no way he knocks him out. Plus Ali could hit hard himself and Tyson actually did got knocked out a few times. Also Tyson never had a plan B as seen in fights vs Lewis or Holyfield. If his plan to knock out Ali in a rush didnt work he's fcked.
@@MMAJudge. Also, people tend to say that Tyson wasnt the same anymore after the death of his trainer and his time in prison. But Ali had huge trouble outside the ring as well, probably even more trouble than Tyson, but that never effected his performace _inside_ the ring, and that is what makes a true champion. To be the best of the best, the GOAT, you have to win the big fights, no matter what (Rumble in the jungle, Thriller in Manilla). Tyson lost them all (Holyfield, Lewis). Sure Tyson was scary, sure he was a champ, sure he was great at knockouts, but Ali was on another level.

He fought and beat Liston, who was a scary puncher. He beat George Foreman who could hit harder than Tyson and better stamina than Tyson.
Tyson on the other hand, never beat a fighter who he lost to by fighting them again
Ali v Tyson would play out like this in my opinion:
Tyson would come out fast & strong in his usual style
Ali would be defensive for the first 6-8 rounds.
Tyson would eventually tire out after round 6 &
Tyson would be defeated mentally after 8-9 rounds
Ali would go more on the attack after Tyson begins to tire out
Ali would either win on points if the fight went 12 rounds.
90% chance
If we talking a 14 round bout...
then Ali between rounds 11 to 14 Tyson could likely be KOd by Ali
95% chance of Ali winning from rounds 11 - 14 by a KO
Tyson has small chance of beating Ali but only before round 7 ( about 35 % chance )
Spot on analysis. Couldn't have said it better myself. Excellent assessment.
@@michaelhubbard4023 Thank you, I appreciate your comment.
