I get SO many DM's and comments regarding Root Shadow's, how to apply them, how to choose the formulas, what hair canvas they require...???
    So you ask, I reply!
With a PACKED video thats both hair color tutorial and shadow root theory lesson, with my TOP TIPS for getting the BEST dimensional blonde (or any other shade you're after!) results, time after time.
Now you may call the process root dragging, root tapping, color melting etc etc but they are all the same thing and in the video above, I take you through it all, step by step.
And of course I use Shades EQ Gloss from @redken a line I love and have been using now for over 20 years! I do also mention @wella Color Touch as I do sometimes use it for shadow rooting.
So if you want to create seamless, blended highlighted results or would simply like to see how I go about my hair colour processes this ones for YOU!

I wish you a happy transition from Christmastime into 24!...I actually think this will be a very good year;)! I do have hair experience as a former stylist but I have usually gone to a salon. I just was not getting what I want (mine's a lot of curlier hair and fine) and the prices are a little crazy now (for not getting what I want)! So I hang on your every word now that I am DIY, and I am having so much fun again...not to mention it looks good:) Thank you SO much for keeping this public and your kindness in sharing. You are touching all sorts who appreciate your knowledge! Sending New Year love and gratitude! Oh, great shirt😍

As always thank you for starting off the new year, with further more inspirations also for the amateurs of us here ☺️. I found your video very clear and easy to follow. Now I’m wondering, if you might want to consider at some point doing a video on the shades eq gloss series as an extended video to the color theory video you did recently? Like maybe share your favorite series / combos for light to dark blondes and light to dark brunettes when the hair is lifted to an 8/9 and is glossed down to create a high contrast hair color? I haven’t seen such a video in a long time with Shades eq here on youtube. That would be so fantastic 💐❤

You’re most welcome, Happy New Year and thank you for watching. I’m so pleased you enjoyed the video and found it helpful.
I’m not entirely sure what you wanted to see as an “extension” to the Hair Colour Theory’ series…? There is an entire playlist of videos, maybe I cover what you’re after in there…or perhaps in the “Shades EQ Gloss” playlist?
Next weeks video is all about SEQG golds! 👨🏻🙌🏻✨

I was wondering, if you might want to share your favorite color combos if possible on hair models with high contrast hair gloss with SEQ as they have so many series, VB,VG,NB,NA,N,VG,V,GI,WG,G etc. maybe on hair color levels 6-9 in warm and cool tones? As you today shared your point on the root melt on level 7 with lighter mids and ends, I’d find such a video very inspiring💐

@@taniab5701 Ok noted, thanks for clarifying. That would be a lot of quite specific content to make but I’ll keep it in mind and add it to my list.

Hello Craig! I've been loving your videos! I have a question that isn't necessarily connected to this video. Where can I purchase (for home use) swatches of hair showing levels of hair? I know the importance of toning at the level and the need to lift light enough. I could really use something at home to compare my highlights in my foiled, graying, brunette hair. I'm not confident in guessing if I'm at an 8, 9, and some pieces closer to my faces 10. Any suggestions for me? Thank you so much for all of the info that you share! I've learned so much!

Hello there! Thanks for watching and for your wonderful kind words.
The swatches you see here on my channel from time to time are from a hair education company called Pivot Point…but I don’t think they make a “scale” 1-10…? Your best bet would be to download a few “level” charts as I show in my videos - there are loads online. They all differ slightly but it’ll give you an idea of the levels.
It’s fantastic you tone “on the level”, GO YOU! 👨🏻🙏🏻✨

Happy New Year Craig! Thank you so helpful. Question though…why only 5mins at miss and ends? Thought Shades EQ are to be kept longer. Would colour get darker than you wanted and that is why? Thanks…

Happy New Year, thanks for watching. They are generally (and I do mostly process for 20 minutes) processed for longer but Claire’s hair is such a dreamy tone with just the lift, so the very ends (I toned the mids for 20) just needed a little.

Don’t show every trick and tips to get more views. Kitchen beauties are doing own there own and not going to hairstylist. How many hair stylist out there who spend so many hours to get education. And now no clients.coz like you people are showing every thing on social media. Stop 🛑.& keep channel where licensed people can only watch.

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  5 місяців тому

Hi there, thanks for watching. I’m afraid I don’t agree - you’re never going to be able to replace a trip to a hairstylist by doing your own hair at home.
It might surprise you to know that 70% of hair colour is done at home by consumers - those folks don’t want to (for whatever reason) go to the salon…and that’s cool. It is what it is.
And that’s partly what you pay for in the salon, the years of education and experience (plus products) and the reality is, some people just can’t get to a salon/or afford it.
