    Yes I was making hat and noticed it was also too small so did another increase for a total of 40 (1hdc 1hdc1hdc and 2 hdc) ended with 40 then 1hdc 40 times from row 6 to 9. This made hat bigger for adult. Thanks so much instruction were made easy.🤗

      Thanks for sharing your craft ❤ as for adjustments…..I did the same as LindiaLiz with 42 hdc..as crocheters we all know this is normal to gage to the size you want based on the tightness of your stitch …not everyone is going to be the same. And same for head sizes😂😂😂 I like starting in the crown..no sewing and no bunching!! Thanks again @LovinglyNie

    As mentioned, this is the clearest, most straightforward magic circle how-to I’ve ever found, and the pattern is presented in a very easy-to-follow way. THANK YOU for sharing your talent with us! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

    Thank you for making this beanie so easy!! I have mastered it even the front and back post!! I’ve made 4 so far. I will add that I stitch tighter so it ends up fitting a child. For an adult I added one more increase round and one more round of posts!! Works out PERFECT!! Thank you for making it so EASY!!

    Thank you so much for your patient tutorial. I had to go back to row 6 bc when I got to row 9, it looked like a cone head on me. So I followed the 1, 1, 2 and then continued. Came out wonderfully. Would you do a tutorial on how to alter patterns for larger heads, or more hairy heads?? Lol. Thank you.

    I made the beanie. It looks very nice, however I crochet tightly (as I found out) and the hat will fit a young child. 😊 I will attempt again. Thank you for the pattern and tutorial.

    The hat fit me perfectly but I used a size 10 mm hook which is bigger than the one she used. The instructions were great and I’m so happy to find somebody who can actually show me how to do it. ♥️♥️♥️

    I love the simplicity of this pattern and how the front post and back post give a nice edging. I realized almost halfway through that my stitches are much tighter than yours so hat is much smaller. I’ll try a 9mm hook next time. Thank you for the instruction

      Oh good, it's not just me. It made a really cute kid's hat, but definitely not big enough for an adult even once stretched a bit. I might try it one more time and add in some stitches somewhere along the way.

    • @Janice-d-witnessing
      @Janice-d-witnessing 3 роки тому +2

      Success! I tried it again, this time using 9hdc in the first row instead of 8. I also added three additional rows onto the end. Now it's perfect!

    • @NEChristo

      Same here. I added 3 rows before the post rows. It fits me in length but it’s definitely tight fitting and I have a small head. I plan to go up to a 9mm hook and add a few stitches to each round and keep the additional 3 rows.

    Thanks for this pattern. For my head (which I consider to be small - my hat size is 6 and 7/8), I added one more row of half-double crochet, so 10 rows plus 2 ribbed rows. If I make another, I might experiment with 11 rows + 2. Cute hat! Thanks again.

    I just finished making this beanie. Super easy instructions. I did use a larger hook size, 9mm and I added a row of HDC before starting the ribbing band part. It came out perfectly. I also added a cute fur pom pom on the top! Thank you for this tutorial. It took me less than 30 minutes to make and now I have a nice warm hat! 😁

    • @mangot589
      @mangot589 4 роки тому

      Vicki C Hi! I want to make one for my husband. I want to make it without a Pom, though. In your opinion, does it need one to make it look finished? I want it to go with a nice overcoat, and look a bit more polished. I’ll do the HDC advice. I have a nice 5 wool yarn. I just want it to look good and not have that space-e look between stitches, if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance if you want to answer.

    • @vickic7506
      @vickic7506 4 роки тому

      Mango T Hi 👋🏼 . In my opinion this hat would not be the one that I would make for what you want, a man and a more polished looked. I would do another search for men’s beanies or hats. If you know how to knit that might be a better option. You still might be able to find a nice crochet mans version. Hope thia helps. 😄

    • @mangot589
      @mangot589 4 роки тому +1

      Vicki C Thank you for your honest opinion😃. I’ll keep looking. I’ll make myself one with something else out of my stash. And I’ll follow your recommendations, as I tend to crochet a bit tight. No, I can’t knit, I wish I could! It really does give a nice look. Thanks again, yarnies are the best😉

      I had the same result as you.....I think she crochets loosely. I tried the exact pattern with a 10mm hook and it was a much better fit. :)

    • @mangot589
      @mangot589 4 роки тому +1

      I had the same problem with the super chunky yarn on another hat similar to this. It was supposed to be one hour, 27 rows. Well it took me a lot longer than an hour and I ended up with something like 35 rows. I figured it’s because I crochet pretty tight. On this one I’m going to use a couple hook sizes up and try to do it looser. That’s a pretty big hook she’s using, but I’ll give your idea a try, Tim.😀

    I used the Wool Ease thick and quick yarn bulky six. But I used a MN 9 mm crochet needle. Due to arthritis my tension is not consistent, but found that the larger size hook gave me the size I wanted. I tried the ten but with loose stitches it made the spaces between stitches too big. I also wonder if the person tried DC instead of HDC found the hat to be thicker and close together stitches?

    Hat is too small for adult. First row should be at least 11 or 12 stitches. This hat would only fit a young teenager.
