Oh my gosh!!! This video was SO INFORMATIVE!!! Its hard to find a true informative video, thank you so very much! I know there is a lot of hard work put into your videos, so thank you so much for doing these for us!!! And if you do happen to bring sleek back, I will DEFINITELY be purchasing it!!!
Thank you for addressing this issue, in the past I have ruined a style due to incorrect application of oil to the hair. In one of your older youtubes, you mentioned sleek, the smooth serum and I looked for it on your website and could not find the product. Am so glad you are looking into bringing it back into your line. And will definitely place an order based on your description of the light contents. Most of the oils I have experienced are too heavy.
Thank you for the info. I have a lot of fine hair and hair oils always way my hair down. Thought I was doing something wrong! I'll just use my oils the night before a wash.
Hello and thank you for your video! I am one of those with very fine hair but I would love to try your product if you ever decide to bring back Sleek! Could you suggest another light weight oil. I am trying to grow out my grey/silver short bob.
You talk about using oil as a way to make hair silky and style your going for. What about overall health of your hair in regards to the ends. Like my hair is dry at ends and oily at roots. Wouldnt an oil be more suited as a finishing product to keep your ends in tack😊
What if you have fine, thin hair and are using oils for growth? Trying to help my sister with hair growth. Am currently trying the mane and mielle Any tips? We barely started today
Yes, after washing. And use a beard brush. Oil sits on top of the hair shaft, locking in moisture. So you need to make sure it's after washing, while it's still damp.
Yes and no. It's a good base. Depending on what you need to do to the hair, different oils do different things. Jojoba is a good all around because it's the closest to the oil that our body makes naturally. You can also use the oil with a serum.
dear salonguy, I believed in the Indian system of oiling the hair before washing. But after 2 years I don't see the result. Now I see that you don't recommend the oil at all for thin, oily hair. What do you think about oiling before washing your hair?
The Indian system of oiling is for the scalp health and removing 'heat'. Typically they use gingelly oil. That in turn may help with your hair health. But if your scalp is healthy, there's no need to do that. Especially if you're in a country that's humid. I'm Indian and I've got hair that's curly, down to my shoulders and what contributes the most to my hair health is proper hair care and the way that you shampoo, condition and the proper use of leave-in conditioner and ultimately hair oil. Of course nutrition is always the backbone of all health. My go-to products are all from Moroccanoil. Literally the best for coarse/thick hair. Can't say for thin/straight hair.
Use it right after a shower and whenever your hair is looking dry. Also use leave in conditioner right after a shower so that the conditioner you used in the shower doesn't dry out the day after

Salonguy what is the best hair care routine?
There is no best, it depends from person to person. Every person is different.
I recommend you figure out what hair type you have then go from there

I use oil to scrunch the crunch. is that appropriate?
Would you apply a small amount to facial hair like a beard or mustache?
Yes, after washing. And use a beard brush. Oil sits on top of the hair shaft, locking in moisture. So you need to make sure it's after washing, while it's still damp.
What is the purpose for putting oil in your hair?
Shine mostly. Depending on your hair type, you can use it as a sealant, to lock in moisture.

Using oil on dry hair? That would just make the hair more dry. I guess this isn't for my kind of hair lol
Pardon?
Uh... no.... Oil does not make hair dry. It seals in the moisture. If anything, it makes the hair feel wet and slippery.
Use it right after a shower and whenever your hair is looking dry. Also use leave in conditioner right after a shower so that the conditioner you used in the shower doesn't dry out the day after
