This shows how insanely good Ceb is at giving speeches. He always says the right thing that the players need. I'm pretty sure they'd crumble easily if Ceb wasn't there to hype up their minds.

    • @buggart
      @buggart 2 роки тому +84

Also notice how Ceb always tells the guys to have fun. Sure they need to play seriously to win but he's also telling them to not let the pressure get to them.

Ceb and N0tail experience really showed in TI8 and TI9. They were veteran players, some people even thought both of them would never win a huge tournament. When Ceb was still 7ckingMad, noone believed in him and his team. When he joined OG, people said that if he was a coach it was ok, but as a player it was a meme. But they prevailed. For me, it's not a history about OG going through the losers bracket, it's not about winning a tournament. It's all about proving yourself you are relevant, you are one of the best, all you did was not useless. Topson, ana and Jerax were huge, but N0tail and Ceb had a decade of professional DotA, 10 years of people talking shit about them, and in that moment, it felt like a huge burden had left N0tail's shoulder. He has proven to himself that he could do it, and it was fucking beautiful.

@@lucaxtshotting2378 not true at all. The most important thing is your mind and self esteem to keep up with the pressure. A simple speach will make the difference between win or lose, not 15min practice cuz these guys all have 10K+ hours in dota each and 15m practice is absolutely nothing to them.(not even 24hours are anything new). If u are at the finals with your team what do you need, 15min practice or 15min of good energy, cheering up,mental preperation and encouragement?
      Yeah now you understand.
We are humans, not robots. We need those mental resets.

@@lucaxtshotting2378 ok that works in league, but in dota the best chiniese team that only practices nonstop gets constantly stomped by europeans who give importance to mental health and vitality.
Btw chiniese, koreans and japanese tend to overwork themselves constantly and burn themselves out . Its a common thing in east asian cultures that some people even die while overworking themselves.
I think for any western team mental>mechanical, dont wanna delve too deep into asians cuz im not one and i have hard time relating to their cultures and mindsets sometimes.

The most impressive thing about this is Topson. He went from a pubstar to a TI winner in the span of a few months. A guy who plays dota for 10+ hours a day into an actual millionaire. I'm guessing Topson is probably pretty nervous with this being his first LAN and a TI at that. In the following year, you could tell that they mastered their team's playstyle and Topson's confidence clearly shows. Hoping to see the TI9 Truesight reaction

OG in TI9 weren't mustache twirling big bad evil villains, they were the kind of Megamind supervillains that relied on "PRESENTATION!!!!" to chatwheel and tip their way to victory. Kinda like Ric Flair, Eddie Guerrero and/or Steve Austin in WWF/E, where they're heels but are so entertaining to watch you can't help but cheer for 'em.

And well this being the biggest cinderella story in esports history. MOST of the sites had OG as 18th place meaning not even playing at mainstage. Bring a retired Ceb who has played his last TI in 2012, bring in ana who was inactive the entire year, bring in a random zeus/pugna spammer from the EU servers who plays his first lan and its freaking TI. Notail switching to 5 for the first time in his career. There are so many stories in this win its incredible and then they are playing against PSG twice and beating them twice, like nobody would have imagined that, nobody. PSG lost FIVE maps at mainstage, and all those 5 losses were to OG. They didnt lose a single map. This is basically impossible to top off. TI9 was just OG dumpstering everyone they were head and shoulders above everyone. But TI8, was the biggest cinederella story in esports history

TI8 Grand Finals - OG vs PSG.LGD is the greatest TI finals game, overtaking the TI3. Let me tell you about the teams playing.
PSG.LGD - the Chinese powerhouse that many people expect to win TI. Also there is this pattern where Chinese teams win TI in even years (TI2 - IG, TI4 - Newbee, TI6 - Wings Gaming). We can say that they have the best odds is winning the tournament.
OG - the team that is ranked last in the odds of winning TI since they just formed their new roster a few months prior to this event. Many expected that they will go down early, but they exceeded people's expectations and went to go on the finals.
Watch the Redbull video entitled "OG's comeback to win DOTA 2's TI8 | Against The Odds". Also watch the TI9 True Sight.

OG were so broken in Ti8 that everyone believed they would just drop straight out, but they went to the grand finals, against the known to be strongest team and favorites to win it all, against all odds, won the whole thing. its the most awe inspiring stories ever, from a brother's betrayal, Notail pulled their dream out of the abyss with Ceb to help carry the weight with him. in comes Ti9 and OG just went godmode and dumstered everyone proving their win wasn't just a fluke. the power of friendship indeed, that's why it was just absolutely sad to see this roster go especially with the pandemic coming in.

32:42 "ESPORTS HEADSHAKE" xD even the Grubby knows this game was OVER! lol
i think this is the best TI finals i've watched, you cant really see how epic these game were in this short highlights... OG was losing 2-1 and in game 4 it was alrdy 40 min, lost 2 full lanes of barracks, notail was literally running down mid to suicide, just to pull a creep wave a little more from the base ( to keep the backdoor protection ) and then Ana the PL took lvl 25 defensive talent that was not meta at all, it was an IMPOSSIBLE comeback, game lasted like 80 min or so, and then they won like 3-4 fights in a row and won the whole finals....

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the doppelganger cd reduction talent wasn't picked much not so because it wasn't Meta, it was just too situational in the eyes of most people granted I really don't know the other lvl 25 talent back then(probably a DPS)oriented one.
I do agree though that game 4 was nuts and I absolutely believe it's the best game of the entire ti8 tourney(hard choice between it and Upper bracket game 3).

The thing that get unexposed in game 4 is the Morph - PL bug
LGD plays morph again PL several time because it can create similar chaos. But the thing is one bug is existed. When you are morphling use morph to PL, when you lvl up in PL form (which is often happen u lvl up during kill while becoming PL), the stats lvl up is not converted in morphling, causing morph to lose almost 44 agi and chunks number of STR. If this bug not happened, the ceeeeb call wont kill him.
Unfortunate bug, no one noticed bout this cz over hyped by the axe call.

Es increible ver a Notail en este ti, todo lo que paso, como llego... Perdió todo antes del torneo. Estaba destrozado. No dormía. The crazy thing about this was that OG was not supposed to be here. NoTail was betrayed by Fly just a month before the TI qualifiers and this tore the team apart. Topson had never played at a lan, ana played a few years before, but looked out matched and Ceb had a few year break on his professional playing there and only came back cause NoTail needed him to fill up the roster. So a month before TI qualifiers OG was just NoTail and JerAx... They were the odds on favorites to go out as one of the first two teams to be eliminated before getting onto to the arena. It was the most improbable journey of any team ever. Going from last to first with a new team...

The drama made this TI's story ridiculously good, like a dream story if you ask me.
Notail's best friend (at the time) Fly and legendary TI winner s4 left OG for EG shortly before Ti, so they had to recruit Topson and Ceb (from coaching position). They were considered one of the weakest teams, no one gave them a chance. They even played against EG, and Notail gave Fly the legendary death stare 💀 - it was so epic after an amazing series. The memes.. and to win it all despite the odds and adversity. No one gave them a chance.

When I watched this the first time, I was so happy for OG. Now, 4 years later, I am rooting for LGD and watching this hits different. You can see the team crumbling here, failing to make the finals in TI9, and then the heartbreaking loss at TI10. Here is also the last time you can see the Chinese fans lose hope as LGD was slowly getting hammered by OG in game 5. They were not even able to do that for TI10.
This year is LGD's year. I can't imagine a world where Ame retires not as a TI Champion. You also have all the players present: Team Spirit, their TI10 nemesis, just beat them in Arlington and the new OG, who has risen to the top of EU and successfully rebuilt their team. Now is the time to prove that LGD deserves a place at the top, and for them to be immortalized in the Aegis of Champions!

And here he is, asking Topson (fresh pro player) what he want to play. Asking for his opinion and always sticking onto it. What a leader.
Now compare that to Fly, in this ti13. I watched they interview their (nouns) coach and they asked the coach "How much of the draft % is you (coach)"
And he replied,"Its upto Fly, we make sure he have a good game. Its upto him" it really shows the difference
