I think you are the perfect person to point out the differences between two teams, mentally. It was so polarised I felt bad for Liquid. If they had Ceb factor between games, we could have had a legendary series.
I absolutely love the insight of someone who has been at that level of competition. I'm enjoying this a lot, and I do not even play dota or moba games!
Would love to see Grubby as a coach for a team some day. While he lacks some Dota knowledge (yet), he understands how important little nuances of what team members say and how they act with each other are. Both teams in this final had awesome players but Ceb was a way better coach than Kuro in this case. That won them the series imo.
What a time to get into DOTA. The magical month of DOTA Esports starts. True Sight dropping soon, Ti just around the corner, the time of the year when the dota players are actually happy. Feels Good Man.
these 2 True Sight you streamed are so entertaining to watch. You just started Dota but you're no stranger to ESport competition which makes your input throughout the video so insightful and relatable. I can't wait for the TI10 True Sight so I can watch it myself, then watch Team Spirit react to it, then watch you react to it lmao
Even i that just watch true sihht know what kuroky said is really really bad He said to mc play like cebb, like why would he said? Why not said just farm ur item more Kuroky doesnt even respect any of his teammate input at all, like they litterally ask to ban ember several times I mean weeha pretty much done with ta after that game 2 but kuroky keep saying ta is good
20:58 Exactly what I was thinking. Ceb went on to tell the staff on their smoke break that he made a small mistake, which I think he was referring to that buyback but they were the ones who told Ana not to do so. He already informed the team earlier that he wanted to buyback so he can help with the base defense.
Great content, happy to rewatch True Sight alongside Grubby and even happier he is playing Dota 2 now! Really hope Valve gets him involved somehow at TI
Been watching your WC3 games and watched your tournament games too. And now you're also playing and DotA 2, the only game I've given like 2/3 of my life (I'm 27 yrs old and haven't played DotA for like 5yrs but I still follow anything about DotA 2). I hope you continue and enjoy your DotA 2 journey. P.S. Valve should take care of Grubby or else, I will wish that every toilet in Valves' office gets clogged and floods the bathroom.
Man when I initially watched this true sight I thought kuro was actually pretty awesome with the motivational stuff. But the way you debunked that with reason has opened my eyes to a whole new level of thinking. You are a gem to Dota community man. Love you! ❤️
Grubby, you should probably watch a DOTA short called "The International Archives - The Buyback". It happend in TI by Ana which maybe one of the most underrated plays in that tournament.
You should watch OG's sponsor's (Red Bull) documentary about them. It's titled 'Against The Odds' Incredible inside story about the players and their journey from zeroes to heroes!
Someone pointed this before but in 1:11:55, Ceb says " they will chase". Jerax then says "there's no chase" to which Ceb replies "Yes, they're desperate". It just shows both Ceb and Jerax mental awareness of the game. Ceb knew Liquid was desperate, and they will try to chase out of desperation to salvage the game. Which Liquid did do. Meanwhile Jerax knows its over. Even if they chase, they will lose. Which also came true.
Truesight is incredible from Valve, I literally had no idea Ceb is such a good mentor. I mean I get hyped up to play every time I watch his speeches to Og. I really wanna see how Xiao8 coaches his team,
Watching this TI final's true sight is really hard for me man. Back then, those 2 teams were my favorite, seeing them fighting in the grand final is both a joy and uncomfortable feeling. Your reaction and thoughts however is more interesting than the true sight lmao, have just discovered you just like you've discovered dota :))
This new OG is definitely strong but we can’t be sure. TI has a history of strong teams throughout the year and falling short on the big stage. The first iteration of OG with Miracle failed to win in TI after dominating the majors before TI. We can only watch.
the thing about TI is that when the Team is favored to win, they are gonna fall short like for example that OG with Miracle and PSG.LGD... the only team to break this curse was the TI9 OG.. It was just the most dominant team ever.. stomping pro teams.
@@ejmedallo8098 og wasn't favoured tho. People were shitting on them saying their previous win was a fluke The one team who was favoured for winning was wings From the very beginning they were dominating everyone and everyone watching can tell Their only loses were throw away games because they decided to play Pudge for God knows what reason
@@BruhMeme85 only a few people were saying they wer a fluke and it was more of a meme already after their strength showcase at the group stage. Nobody doubted them in the main stage. They were the Team to beat with their unique meta (Tide mid, IO carry, etc), left and right BM plays and ofcourse, the fountain diving. TI9 OG exudes pure dominance... and still the best team to have ever ran TI.
It's funny how much of a "respect" front Ceb puts up for the documentary, given how toxic he is in every other communication inside and outside the game 😄
Dota is really a sick mental game, I could relate heavily. When my enemy always use chatwheels, tips and sprays I know I'm getting fucked and lose confidence. Really hard game to be honest
I really like how Grubby instantly recognizes the differences in communication between the teams. I know a lot of people kept mentioning how Kuro is 'the calmest guy' and stuff, but in the end I think when he reflects on it he'll realize that he handled some of the things a tad poorly. In general they really (from the limited footage we get) seemed to pile the pressure on W33ha, when he was the most inexperienced member of the team who always felt like the odd one out already (because he wasn't 'part of the squad'). I think also a nice nuance (that Grubby might not know) is how Miracle used to play with OG, with N0tail and Seb (as coach) and was incredibly succesful, so he understands a lot about how they think about the game and the way they want to play. I think it played quite a big part in Miracle being able to make a few calls on what OG was going to pick, for example the Ember pick, where Kuro at that moment (probably due to the stress) wasn't really open to using the full potential of the knowledge around him. You can also see this with their coach RMN, who honestly had a great read on the games, but for whatever reason (again probably due to stress) Kuro just wasn't open to his comments. I think Liquid were up against it, because OG looked completely unbeatable with a vast amount of different strategies and drafts throughout the tournament. Nobody ever looked close to their level this TI. It was a great TI and I hope we get more entertainment like it in the future!
The legend watching the legends. I love the insight and jokes.. pointing out the mistakes in Kuroky's coaching and agree with Ceb motivation of the team gives another look at this masterpiece of a movie. Thanks Grubby
Hey Grubby! I remember watching you play in some SC2 tournaments years ago, and I feel privileged to watch you come and learn this game too! I started Dota 2 cause I watched Day[9] make the swap, and to see another RTS player come in and have fun has been fantastic. Keep it up, keep having fun!
Caught your dota stream by chance the other week and it has been so refreshing to watch your journey this far. Love this game and love when new people get to experience it for what it can be
Focusing on the positives is so key. There are studies, notably with tennis players practicing serving. Split into two groups - one group was coached on only what they were doing wrong and the group coached on what they were doing well. The positive focus group improved more by an overwhelming amount.
If you're interested, OG Against the Odds redbull video is pretty awesome too, it gives such a cool look on Notails, and also other OG members, history.
Grubby, honestly, for a long time I have been enjoying your WC3 matches and now, it is so good to see you experience the same thing we, DOTA2 (since DOTA1) players were experiencing, to see you feel the same thing we felt during TI´s. PS: looking forward to your ongoing journey through DOTA2 heroes. :)

You know it's reeealy hard to make russki ppl like you and I got curious and checked you out myself. Now i see why even soaked in toxicity russian community respects you. I love your positivity about life and your highly developed analytical skills. Shows the warcraft impact
Liquid was a top team then, but kurro rly didnt believe that he could beat OG and his mentality transferred to the team, not to mention ANNAGOD was an effin meta breaker with that IO carry... Liquid rly came in as favourites into this match, they had the most amazing tournament, but Ceb is a freaking mental monster, EPIC FINAL!!!
As a huge fan of this Liquid team that documentary can be hard to watch lol. But I like how both teams respect each other, I prefer respect and friendliness to trash talk. By the way, Kuro and Notail, the captains of each team are actually good friends. Kuro coached/advised Notail on his previous TI, after the former got eliminated
I wish that Grubby watched TI7 True Sight before this so he'd have a better insight on how this Team Liquid works. Kuroky basically is like a father to the 4 guys of the team (who can be mischievous players), with their manager Mo like the mother lol. Kuro had to carry the team at a mental and emotional standpoint, so it's not surprising that he got tilted after game 1. I feel that Liquid misses Matu on situations like this. He's one less emotional guy for Kuro to check on. TI8 is Ana's redemption after being viewed as an underperformer before TI, while TI9 is where Topson really popped off. OG is a whole lot better in TI9 than they were at TI8.
Yeah TI8 was Ana's redemption but it was the Kiev Major that brought him to the legend status. The Buyback was the moment he etched his name in the Dota 2 Hall of Fame.
Watched both True Sight it was released and saw finals online on two TIs. Og is a legendary team. Played old dota and dota 2 I can say dota 2 improves the game.
u know how get viewers tho, it interesting to watch someone who has little understanding about dota, its whole new experience for me, pls finish rest of the true sights keep going
First, a legendary player named "Vigoss" appeared in the dota pub. Then "Loda", who admires him, won Dream Hack Winter 2006 , bringing dota to the competitive scene for the first time in the world. Loda has become a living legend. The era of Loda continues, and it will be active in the top scene for a long time. One day, rumor says that there is a player who beats up Loda every night at the pub. It was a boy and named "Kuroky" who was about 12-13 years old at the time. As soon as he jumped into the top scene, he keep beaten up loda again and again and again and... if loda was main charactor of dota. then Kurokky was super villan of this game he was demonically strong at the time I remember. and his era is not over yet.
I love all the taunting and voice lines, because it's fun. I laugh at this even when I'm the one being taunted, healthy mindset wins more! E: You know what's cooking! You know what's cooking! You know what's cooking! BOOOM!
Watching this reminds me of how godly OG during this TI, Topson trashing everybody on mid and Ana playing io carry. Trivia: he and his friends played this io on 3k mmr pub, and what's mind blowing is he actually pulled it off on TI main stage.
ana really have full faith on the team and really believe that he and the team could pull it off...amazingly they instinctly knew how to enable his carry IO's gameplay
It's really interesting to see the mental game here. Liquid is behind from the very beginning, because they focus on the negatives, call out mistakes etc. On top of that it just seemed obvious that OG was two moves ahead at all times. When Liquid is celebrating kills, OG is just sitting back saying "oh, that's terrible for them."
Thanks for everything Grubby. I'm sad that HOTS fell from its former glory and play rarely and trying to decide if I want to switch to DOTA for watching/playing. I like seeing your journey. I'm a bit sad that your next recommended video title basically gives away the outcome of the 2019 match, but I guess I shouldn't complain about being spoiled on a 3 year old esports event.
2:35 Kuro didn't actually meant money when he said "costly", these 2 teams at that time where fighting on who will be the first 2-time TI winner. Which means a lot
It was a real-life lesson for Kuro as a captain. Listen to your team, all the mistakes were the result of his decision, when the team was constantly anticipating them. That's the result.
Gonna be honest, the last few minutes, I got emotional. I remember being there, losing in finals and having this feeling of dread. And all I could think was "I failed you guys". When I watch Koro say the same thing I did 15+ years ago, it hits me like a ton of bricks. Kudos to them both, amazing teams.
this is really funny, i never expected this from grubby. i used to play a lot of HOTS, and that's where I got to know grubby. It was a nice period between 2015-2018 as fellow blizzard franchise fan, I played a lot of games, got to diamond tier and also watched a lot of pro matches. It was always a pleasure seeing grubby casting games. And then that happened. Blizzard abandoned HOTS. So I reluctantly went to the original, Dota (Well it's Dota 2 now). Somehow I always knew I was going back to dota. It was inevitable. I played it a bit during school days, along with WC3. I liked the game, but didn't like the crowd. I played the original dota to have fun and do silly things, but people just wanna tryhard and win. When HOTS came I thought it was perfect. But nothing good lasts forever. Gotta grow up, and play a real MOBA. Thank you HOTS and thank you grubby for being there. I made a lot of good friends on HOTS. Though the moba honeymoon is over, I still have fond memories of HOTS. I just wish Dota has something like Li Ming and greymane. They have diablo now, in Marci. But it took valve years to make sth similar. Still, dota is a masterpiece.
And to think that ana's low rank friends challenged him to carry them on a rank game using IO just to troll is insane. It's just crazy where it started. Ana was just on a vacation all those times while his team is getting smashed in valve events, shows up in TI and play IO as a carry. Greatest carry of all time hands down. Greatest team of all time too
Really like your journey into dota :) I get the point with the communication and not giving your opponent too much praise, but OG was on another level this tournament... They dominated the whole TI so I can't blame Kuro for his comments- he was just realistic :) And they won before and got to the final with him... I think they got their style and go with it
30 is very old for pro dota 2 tournament, even if you are 60 you can hit immortal rank in DotA 2 without a doubt because I know some old people who do but on the top of the game, you just can't, game burns you very hard, every win and loss counts and losses count really harder.
After this tournament all five players left team Liquid to form their own team. They had been playing together on the same team for years (exception w33) as one of the most stable rosters. Kuroky saying "...costly game" and being so stressed throughout the match seems to indicate that there was some tension between the players and their upper management. When Mind Control was hot their team was unstoppable. Same with Jerax on OG. It felt like the entire finals was a showdown for the two of them.
Watching Grubby Dota 2's journey is really blessing for Dota community. Please Valve dont let this man go.

I don’t think I could coach like Ceb
@@FollowGrubby you can coach like only Grubby can
@@FollowGrubby Coaching like grubby is probably also still really good :)
“I just need Grubby to coach like 7uckingmad.”
@@carson8074 lmao
What a time to get into DOTA. The magical month of DOTA Esports starts. True Sight dropping soon, Ti just around the corner, the time of the year when the dota players are actually happy. Feels Good Man.
these 2 True Sight you streamed are so entertaining to watch. You just started Dota but you're no stranger to ESport competition which makes your input throughout the video so insightful and relatable. I can't wait for the TI10 True Sight so I can watch it myself, then watch Team Spirit react to it, then watch you react to it lmao
Even i that just watch true sihht know what kuroky said is really really bad
He said to mc play like cebb, like why would he said? Why not said just farm ur item more
Kuroky doesnt even respect any of his teammate input at all, like they litterally ask to ban ember several times
I mean weeha pretty much done with ta after that game 2 but kuroky keep saying ta is good
20:58 Exactly what I was thinking.
I love kuro, for always saying " thank HIM okay" .
It happend in TI by Ana which maybe one of the most underrated plays in that tournament.
ty.. just watched it... Ana is a beast... and he is so calm and handsome... unbelivable dude...
@@FuNoK83 agree. I hope him and topson will elevate T1 team and take the aegis home :)
You should watch OG's sponsor's (Red Bull) documentary about them. It's titled 'Against The Odds'
Incredible inside story about the players and their journey from zeroes to heroes!
He already watched it a few days ago
@@dragynn9762 twitch vod?
Is it? I wanna watch his reaction. Really enjoy his reaction on true sight ti8
@@dragynn9762 He replied to another comment that he wants to watch it. So what you say can't be true
@@RichyRich2607 I saw him watching it. They will probably post here eventually.
Now this is a good read from that interaction
OG was predicted to never get into quarters in 2018, look at them now
the thing about TI is that when the Team is favored to win, they are gonna fall short like for example that OG with Miracle and PSG.LGD... the only team to break this curse was the TI9 OG.. It was just the most dominant team ever.. stomping pro teams.
Miracle is the best dota player of all time, he was the first to reach over 9000 mmr xD
@@ejmedallo8098 og wasn't favoured tho.
People were shitting on them saying their previous win was a fluke
The one team who was favoured for winning was wings
From the very beginning they were dominating everyone and everyone watching can tell
Their only loses were throw away games because they decided to play Pudge for God knows what reason
These videos are edited excellently. 👌
100%
Legit, almost movie like quality
i still cant believe the level of change, in terms of looks and attitude, between TI8 Topson and TI9 Topson
Topson become Chadson
Now watch ti7 true sight for context between old liquid and og
Really should have watched the TI7 one first tbh. Makes for a good trilogy
Ti7 the best ti ever
@@goink3368 true
It's funny how much of a "respect" front Ceb puts up for the documentary, given how toxic he is in every other communication inside and outside the game 😄
It is a mental game
Dota is really a sick mental game, I could relate heavily. When my enemy always use chatwheels, tips and sprays I know I'm getting fucked and lose confidence. Really hard game to be honest
0:51 really like how they are all smiling, what a wholesome finals
Grubby is so happy, he instantly smiles 1:03:36
Amer is not w33ha. It’s miracle. W33ha is Omar
@@yomamafat1014 You're right, I just glanced over this too quickly.
"what do we do now"
"I mean, we can eat"
Miracle is too pure man, gotta love the guy
It's really weird I kept watching you even after I left Wc3 for dota and somehow now you're playing dota so much
The legend watching the legends.
I love the insight and jokes.. pointing out the mistakes in Kuroky's coaching and agree with Ceb motivation of the team gives another look at this masterpiece of a movie.
Thanks Grubby
Grubby is the best thing that happened to this community in a long time. Wholesome af! Thx for giving our favourite hate-love a try mate!
21:59 best bit. thanks for the reaction my dude
grubby i really like the way you explicitly point out the mental game of ceb, makes me appreciate him more
Now watch Ti7, two of the most gifted and brilliant players at their best, Miracle and Gh. Wizards!
You’re a wholesome reactor. My sub doesn’t do justice. You need way more. Thank you for your content, and may the subs and likes keep on coming
Grubby, my man! I've never heard about you before u came to dota. But the fact that even russian community leave good comments about your personality got me shook. You know it's reeealy hard to make russki ppl like you and I got curious and checked you out myself. Now i see why even soaked in toxicity russian community respects you. I love your positivity about life and your highly developed analytical skills. Shows the warcraft impact
After Heart of the Swarm you are now stepping back into my life through Dota. How good it is too see the cheerfull Grubby again. :D
24:44
Kuroky: "I promise you, God is with us"
God: "My Guy, I have other plans"
You are a very positive person and i like your take on Ceb's mindset in coaching.
Watching the stream and watching them bust out IO carry on groups a couple of times and the caster reaction. Is a memory I think I cannot forget
Both are respectable teams
21:38 this is actually what i need to hear grubby. thank you
Jerax's hindsight on that last game is *chef's kiss*
When Kuro said “him first, and unity.” I thought of Dave chappelle Rick James skit. UNITYYYY
As someone who has broken a bone, definitely worth the experience. didn't even hurt that bad. Just got to chill and do nothing for like 2 months
u know how get viewers tho, it interesting to watch someone who has little understanding about dota, its whole new experience for me, pls finish rest of the true sights keep going
Love to see grubby in Dota and the amazing content . Feelsgod to have a amazing 'newb' making content like this
First, a legendary player named "Vigoss" appeared in the dota pub.
As soon as he jumped into the top scene, he keep beaten up loda again and again and again and...
if loda was main charactor of dota. then Kurokky was super villan of this game
he was demonically strong at the time I remember. and his era is not over yet.
Seeing my favourite, the OG Gamer Grubbster enjoying my all time favourite game. What a time to be alive
I'm so excited to see Grubby react to watching some of the TI games this October! Show Grubby the top .001% of players and the skill they play with!
58:00 had me laughing so hard lol :D Grubby best
2:35 Kuro didn't actually meant money when he said "costly", these 2 teams at that time where fighting on who will be the first 2-time TI winner. Which means a lot
"You were the best coach" "No, OG is the best".
Respect
It was a real-life lesson for Kuro as a captain. Listen to your team, all the mistakes were the result of his decision, when the team was constantly anticipating them. That's the result.
Gonna be honest, the last few minutes, I got emotional. I remember being there, losing in finals and having this feeling of dread. And all I could think was "I failed you guys". When I watch Koro say the same thing I did 15+ years ago, it hits me like a ton of bricks.
Kudos to them both, amazing teams.
I really love those cinematics for key plays
TI9 is the OG show. Nothing but sheer dominance.
Thank you for giving me an excuse to rewatch these
Be your fan for a long time ago. I'm so happy to see you play dota 2.
i was watch Grubby play war3 so many year ago, so good to see him again
1:09:14 perfect timing
this is really funny, i never expected this from grubby. i used to play a lot of HOTS, and that's where I got to know grubby.
Greatest team of all time too
Really like your journey into dota :)
I get the point with the communication and not giving your opponent too much praise, but OG was on another level this tournament... They dominated the whole TI so I can't blame Kuro for his comments- he was just realistic :)
And they won before and got to the final with him... I think they got their style and go with it
Love these videos bro 👍🏻
30 is very old for pro dota 2 tournament, even if you are 60 you can hit immortal rank in DotA 2 without a doubt because I know some old people who do but on the top of the game, you just can't, game burns you very hard, every win and loss counts and losses count really harder.
I love Grubby! i catched him on twitch watching DPC TI Qualifiers! xD
