I seriously admire all league players that are daring to try new challenges. The amount of stuff you need to have in mind in a single minute of game in the whole game, can be really demanding and you really can manage to get good with practice by developing enough Muscle Memory. Don't give up on it. This game can be magical sometimes when you manage to make a really epic comeback after a match that you 300% thought it was lost.
as an old dota 2 coach my advices : 1- everytime you're tilted, drink a glass of water, it's help a lot to down your body temperature and calm you down. 2 -in Dota, the game is over when you see what side win. So never surrender, keep focus. (I did a comeback with +40k late gold from the other team so yes, never surrender) 3 - it's a game. Try to learn more than wanted to win every game and try to have fun even in defeat. 4- go in ranked game if you are in good mood and healthy and don't blame people. They can have bad day and can't be perfect all the time. 5- don't forget to say you are new at this game. A lot of players are more kind with new players. A little suggestion : try a funny hero "Spirit Breaker" (Barratrum is his real name). I coached a LoL player and make him try this one and he loved him, have so much fun. Try to unlock your camera more, i know you are used to it from League but League map is a lot smaller comapared to dotas so you need to be more careful of your surroundings, with the TPs and high CC seeing an enemy approach or TP is really important, for example at 16:00 because you play with a locked cam, you cant see the creeps and or even their heroes, instead half your screen is your empty lane. If they TPd under the tower for a gank you'd have no idea. Its a small thing but i think it very important to use free cam, at least in lane, teamfights are VERY chaotic so it can be difficult to keep track of your hero, if you struggle to keep track of your hero in a team fight then locked cam is fine. Learning to use free cam helped me a lot with awareness, so give it a shot :D, you are doing very well tho, game is hard so keep it up.

Oh hell yeah. I wish I could play Dota for the very first time again, it was so captivating and there was so much to explore. I will be here to watch your journey :D
The main difference I’ve felt between switching to Dota from league is that all the heroes power fantasy in Dota is ridiculously overpowered and fun to use, and all the counter play comes from smart item usage and team play. Whereas league feels like all the champions are balanced around numbers and the counter play comes from twitch reactions and mechanical outplays
DotA requires one full term of study for heroes and mechanics before even playing normal and it's amazing because everything is so unique (ehem I played league for 2 3 years)
Off to a good start all in all. Getting a coach and starting with at least one bot game was a good idea. This game can be a nightmare to go into completely blind and I've seen quite a few league players confidently jump straight into a match, have no idea what is going on, get stomped, get frustrated, and quit immediately. There are a massive number of little details and mechanics that you are likely to not even know about unless someone teaches, many of which have no league equivalent.
Losing on your first few games is completely normal. Afterall your enemies are also experienced, there are times that you would win because you are gonna get carried. After some time and practice, you were the ones who's gonna carry the game. My first 100 matches of DOTA are bunch of losses but I won the more I learned about the game
as someone who also switched from league to dota you really gotta drop the locked camera habit. it will make you such a better player if you leave it unlocked and have a 'center camera on hero' bind
3/17 Yeah that checks out. Welcome to the club kid Also - good on your friend to get it into your head early that its ok to die. In fact - when you play axe, its usually good to go in, blademail, do a ton of damage (get any kills if you're lucky) and stun lots of enemies so your allies can clear up. This is going to be a good series - hope you play them all. You'll be so much better by the end of it.
As a titan rank player(8k pts), my advice would be to chill with the camera and zigzagging so intensely. In dota there is much less skillshot shenanigans than in league, so you dont really need to focus on your movement that much(unless certain rare scenarios). Slowing down with movement and camera locking will let you focus more on keeping track with what is happening on your lane(creeps position, enemy's recourses, lasthitting and denying creeps etc.). Unlocking your camera from your hero will also give you much more control of the things around you. As someone pointed out in the comments already, half of you screen is taken by nothing important, and you wouldn't see the enemies gathering to kill you, because your camera was locked on you, instead of checking where the enemies might be and what is happening on the map. Improve your cam and movement, and you will see how easier life gets, because like that i can say that you're playing practically blindfolded Edit: spelling
@@21minus1 agreed, that also applies to opening the game tab every millisecond to make the viewer's eyes bleed. That makes you a lot more stronger in micro
0:44 RTS is real time strategy, something like age of empire, company of heroes, red alert, commands and conquer general, warcraft, stronghold crusader, etc... =)
Moved from LOL to DOTA recently and it's brutal lol. Fun though, even if can be a little overwhelming at first because there's so much more gameplay mechanics/features than LOL. I played DOTA 1 a lot back in the day so I didn't have to learn heroes from 0 and I can appreciate it more now since I have more experience in MOBA from playing LOL.
RTS is Real Time Strategy. The hardest RTS, harder than dota, i would say, is Starcraft 2. Other than that famous rts games you might know are the Age of Empires Series. The other kind is TBS, i.e, Turn Based Strategy, the best example of TBS is Chess itself, where each player will get a turn, you cannot play unless your opponent's turn is over. In video games you could say X-Com series is a TBS.
Remind me of how i start to play dota in warcraft but it used to be simpler and i don't think that much like thesedays. Goodluck with the game bro, but i suggest you should watch tornament or pro player in player view on the watch tab. Learn how they move and the game mechanic, you will be better soon
remember folks. Never give up. Your team start calling GG? That's mean "Get a fucking Grip and win this fucking game". We, SEA players adopt this kinda mentality and becoming the world most toxic, tenacious players when start pushing the game when you're in a brink of losing the match.
In dota and lol if you dont understand whats coming up against you in your match up its hard to play but once you work your way through heros or champions and you know what they do it really becomes easier to make descions... It makes mobas awesome man
this is very true when I first played dota2 from dota1. some heroes are hard to recognize esp with new skins so I had a hard time what to expect before, during and even after an engagement occurs. But once I got used to who is who, I know who to kill, who to avoid and who to bully with my cheese builds😂😅
I remember my first time playing Dota 2, my teammate wants tango from me but I didn't know how to give it to him, he then proceeded to insult me and others join in as well, I then quit the game. Now I know how to play Dota 2 but still have no idea how to give tango to others lol. Razor and Doom is my main go to.
Well, to be honest, you did incredibly well for your first game. I'm not sure if you'd ever get to him but my main hero is Visage with a 70%+ winrate in the midlane, so I'll be ecstatic to see you play him, lol. Chen and Io will also probably be pretty great content

Improve your cam and movement, and you will see how easier life gets, because like that i can say that you're playing practically blindfolded
Edit: spelling
no, more apm = more pro 😊
@@21minus1 agreed, that also applies to opening the game tab every millisecond to make the viewer's eyes bleed. That makes you a lot more stronger in micro
0:44 RTS is real time strategy, something like age of empire, company of heroes, red alert, commands and conquer general, warcraft, stronghold crusader, etc... =)
Great content, looking forward to part 2
cant wait for your dota 2 journey XD you have gone to a deep rabbit hole this time :D enjoy and hate it at the same time hahaha
your friend is so calm??? my brother is always screaming at me plszjzjsks
It's nice to see new player great video mate!
Трум, трум, трум - заводись, мой Баратрум
editing is really good man, all the best
16:23 😂 oh man that R button spamming sound
I play both but I love how punchy Dota2's abilities feel like the games are longer but the power scales to the moon by end game.
Remind me of how i start to play dota in warcraft but it used to be simpler and i don't think that much like thesedays. Goodluck with the game bro, but i suggest you should watch tornament or pro player in player view on the watch tab. Learn how they move and the game mechanic, you will be better soon
Oh god yeah thats a league player, those movements are a tell. Reminds me when i made my friend try dota.
I am gonna subscribe to see how you gonna improve 😁
As a long time League and Dota player, I love watching players cross over
BRO FOR WHAT THE HELL YOU MADE THE BG MUSIC AND THE DOTA ITSELF LIKE 300 PERCENT VOLUME?? I AM LITERALLY BEARING TO HEAR YOUR VOICE
nice content keep it up bro 👍
If this series keep continue im sure u will get a lot of followers...just be consistent
remember folks.
But once I got used to who is who, I know who to kill, who to avoid and who to bully with my cheese builds😂😅
great video hope you keep making more videos like this.
Seeing 6600 unspent gold at 10 minutes is something else.
11:27 not bad not bad... Lion is my main hero in Dota 2... But u doing well
oh this gotta be comedy gold, around TI-Season all these "let's try Dota" people show up in our games and trash them.
Hahahhahaha my guy, where you entered hahahahhah so cute
