- The Tulip, designed by Foster and Partners is the subject of a Public Inquiry which opened on November 3 2020. It's design is controversial but it could play an important role in the future in supporting the vitality and economy of the central business district.

So beautiful I love London 💖💖💖
I think the tulip looks beautiful, why not?
Get it built! Personally I think it will add majesty to the skyline, there is nothing like it anywhere in the world! Hopefully Sadique Khan will be gone soon, he has been useless for London on every level.
The mayor of the City of London is William Russell not Sadiq Kahn my friend. Different jurisdiction in the square mile than London proper. Its a weird system for a bunch of historical reasons, but I think you've blamed the wrong guy here :)
@@patrickmoat8876 Racists rarely have facts.
@@Bob-Fields Just because a person does not like someone else does not mean he/she is racist. Are we not allowed to dislike people of color anymore and automatically have to agree with anything they say or do? Grow up. People like you just killing free dialog.
If the city doesn't evolve it will die.
If they wants to build the tulip, they should build them next to the BT tower?
I agree. The BT Tower and the Tulip Tower have a thin majestic look and it will bring next to it. Plus the BT Tower has been alone for nearly 60 years
that's actually a nice idea
I love this, I really hope that it gets the go ahead. It would make London even more iconic ❤
I personally am pro-skyscrapers in London, I have nothing against historic area's and buildings but people need to realise that buildings gain and loose Importance, and if we try to focus to much on showing of and protecting "history" we are gonna get left behind by other modern cities that are willing to take the step to advance. Plus London compared to some other cities doesn't have that many skyscrapers planned for the near future so, people that are anti-London skyscrapers don't have that much to be worried about.I would personally really like to see London step into the 450 meter range I think it would resonable for both sides. I would suggest putting it near a major station such as Waterloo.........? Also these skyscrapers would actually provide good views of "historical buildings"😂
Is it that people are opposed to skyscrapers, or are they opposed to skyscrapers that look like toasters, cheese graters or personal toys? Honestly, the fad is already looking dated and won't age well.
I think they should build it it looks beautiful, and it will be a Icon of London forever ever👍👍👍
This is amazing
This sad thing is that London’s skyline is so damaged by modern skyscrapers that this giant vibrator won’t even be noticeable
Could you expand on that a bit more I'm curious I don't understand fully what you mean?🤔
@@armani_1515 Yeah, I mean that if you look at London, it is full of buildings made of glass and steel and one is taller than the other etc. All these buildings overwhelm the city and the only places anyone wants to be in London are the old and beautiful buildings, like Parliament and St Paul’s. This ugly building will hardly be any change, there are already so many buildings Londoners hate (the WalkieTalkie, the ButtPlug etc.)
I love it!
Get it built it looks great, fantastic tourist attraction.Look to the future not the past.
It would become a world icon, if London don’t want it, build it in Cardiff
You can take it…
Oh yes, we all going to sleep better knowing that our taxes went for such a noble purpose as new skyline in London :D
It's Brilliant.
I thought it was 2021, not 1970. Start again.
Thank you build taller 1500 metres please thanks
Please be realistic. London is struggling to build over 300m. Forget 1500m LMAO
@@Yasin_2312 don’t be silly it’s 21st century now, new world order after COVID era
@@meddimarcy haha your funny. Just because Covid changed the world that doesn’t mean London will build a 1500m skyscraper. You must be high! London has too many restrictions so it will never build a tall skyscraper like that. Especially when there’s airports in the corner
1500 meters is way to tall for London so it won't suit London, but I wish they would just build 400 meters skyscraper and that would make London looks great, I would be happy if they build them, plus they really needs to move that city airport out or close them down? I mean who needs them when you have 5 other airports west of London.
@@markfoster7949 exactly if London build in 400-500m it would look good. 1500m would suit Dubai
Yes, certainly would make the skyline look even more like Dubai, if London's goal is to imitate Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Just a word of caution; novelty shaped buildings are already looking passé, and you will be stuck with them a very, very long time.
This looks terrible in London. Build it elsewhere, it could bring a lot to a UK city other than London that needs the investment.
I like the tulip but your arguments are not compelling enough
I think it really is a HORRIBLE structure that has to be blocked no matter what.
It will create a huge damage to the already growing city skyline with a tacky design that will be out-of-date very quick.
The city is a world class financial hub, not an amusement park.
I really hope this NEVER comes to reality.
sad khan hates it
There are so many better things to see in London than that. Terrible project. Also so many better projects.
Take off that vibrator off my face! Architecture isn't supposed to be a joke.
no its ugly
