World's Weirdest Skyscraper | The Tulip in London

- The Tulip, a planned 305m skyscraper in London's Central Business District, would have been London's second tallest building. Designed by Foster + Partners, the tower was to serve as a 360 degree observation towers for tourists. The Tulip was to feature glass skybridges, glass gondola rides and glass pods seating. The tower was rejected by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, after being initially approved by the city's Planning and Transportation Committee. The Tulip would definitely have counted as one of the world's most peculiar skyscrapers.

The Tulip is a highly controversial tower that was planned for London’s CBD. What do you think about the tower and it’s rejection?
It’s ugly. Most of the people commenting don’t live hete
@@simongill184 So many red flags in your comment.🤔
Defo not a business district build. Change the architecture slightly and it could fit alongside the Shard. Obviously dependant on ground conditions...I would call it the Mushroom.
Why does no one ever show the Canary Wharf part of London which has WAY more skyscrapers?
Hey, it’s your clone.
I know everyone’s thinking it, the Sperm tower would have been amazing for London!
When are they finally going to rebuild MI6? I've been waiting since they blew it up in Spectre
Asking the real questions
Skyfall
Seems pointless with it having little utility and with the building height limits due to London city airport.
So in a few years its single purpose will be pointless as all new towers will be at the tulips height.
I say get rid of London city airport so we can see some really cool looking buildings!
Fokin hell, couldn’t have said it better, lad. We need the bri’ish capital to be bloody representative, eh?
I’m guessing you don’t live here ?
Does a building need to exceed London’d current height restrictions to be “cool looking”??
@@tylerkochman1007 No but all tall buildings currently built in London have been shortened due to this restriction. I wouldve like to see these buildings original design. Also London city airport is terrible and should be scrapped for air quality reasons.
This skyscraper looks very unique! Thank you for upload this video :D
Awesome design. It looks stunning just like a budding tulip. I do love the shape of it.
Wow, I’m so happy you returned.
Thank you to Foster + Partners applying my concept to design such an amazing Skyscraper ~ London Tulip Tower!! @Here, I would like to change its name to London Full Lips Tower!! Because I don't know Arab got building named as Tulip Tower (a few Apartment and Hotel building also named as Tulip), I shouldn't give the same name!! It is unique and beautiful and pleasant and charming!! I like it every much, put besides the Egg Skyscraper as a set is truly lovely!! @Someone approved, and someone reject, it is really hard for make decision!! How if extend the Standbody broder than "the upper -egg with three full lips? I (Original Elizabeth -queen of England / Spykids movie's Carmen.) don't mind to bare more cost for make our dreams come true!! Mayor Khan don't need to boarder about it's benefits, I am the landlord, and will setup my company branches inside this London Full Lips Tower. Any comments, welcome!!
I've never to this day understood why the mayor of London doesn't want this building to be built in the city. It'll make a tremendous and beautiful edition to the London skyline, especially next to the Gherkin as well. And what is this music in this video, I like it.
It does look a bit like a dild0😂
The world weirdest skyscraper that’s funny 😂😂
It would be interesting to still be built.
These skyscrapers are truly amazing. In addition to their amazing height, the style is also very beautiful. For me, Tulip is one of my favorite skyscrapers, and I’m also very happy with the video 👍
This skyscraper would be so cool ! Looks awsome ! Haveing the elavtors on the outside with a bobble like fashion would be cool ... scary ... and fun !
👏👏👏
Such a shame that Major rejected. So iconic and amazing skyscraper!
Wow, it's amazing 🔥🔥🔥 I can't explain this structure in some words;;if a normal person will see this skyscrapers 1st time he will totally impressed that What's the structure of!!!!!
It's peculiar, but I think beautiful too. They should build it. Mayor Khan's full of it.
good job mayor
Has it been approved by the Inspectorate now after the appeal in November? We still do not know.
I think it’s a great structure and design!
why would be such a thing rejected !
I don’t really understand it ..can anybody make it clear for me why it’s exactly rejected?!
My guess is that it was too expensive and wouldn't generate enough revenue.
@@David-zl4wf then chinas meaningless 100 meter skyscrapers ? what they are doing ? they are just ghost towns 😂😂
Sadik Kahn can't stop 5 mins of spreading woke ideas and lamented that the building was of no social use (in his own words), despite the project being previously approved 🙄
@@techyon7427 LOL
Woow! Great video! This is a very very nice skyscraper👏🙂😀
Bold claim at 1:15 that they would also crack hologram technology in the process of building this
London is crazy
It's a very interesting design. But in my opinion not for London. It's not contextually correct. It's too much of a contrast.
Observation decks should be a secondary element like the cn tower in Toronto.
Could be worse idea than the B of the bang in Manchester. Will get called London's sore thumb.
Shiiiiiiit!!! Y'all better build that bad boy💯
That mayor sucks.
Sadiq Khan is saving the londoners from themselves by cancelling this Tapeworm tower 🐛🗼
Saving Londoners is the one thing Sadiq is incapable of doing. Same old socialist motto has plunged us into deficits ... again
Sadiq Khan works against London and Londoners ! He halted the puchase of new routemasters as soon as he bacame mayor, he fought alongside remainers etc...
I think the tulip will be built at 2030 but im not really sure about it. Dont believe or believe it whatever you choose if it will be built next 9 years (from 2021 - 2030) or not. I really dont know. Just read this: when but i saw last year a video that says the tulip will be built at 2030 but i dont believe it because i am not sure if that video was real to be built.
the project could be restarted when a new mayor has been elected
Good thing 😄 it was so ugly anyway and would have destroyed London skyline
Good, I'm glad it flopped. Londoners saw through it (pun intended). They saw it and didn't like what they saw.
So much for freedom, governments are getting to big
What
I don’t personally like any of London’s skyscrapers beside Canary Wharf and the shard, but I like this one I just don’t think it should be built in London
Don’t bring that Dubai shit to London
Too bad. Worth the trip just to see the Tulip.
London has the 2nd most beautiful skyline in Europe, 1st is moscow
Warsaw better
@@sealand9049 i would say Warsaw would be 3rd
Sorry, I don't see anything other than a giant vibrator with moving orbs at the end for, u know, extra stimulation. Would look great in a satirical movie as a metaphor for the architect's inflated ego or suppressed desires. London is better than that.
Its well ugly and pointless.
