The B1M Could you make a video on the recent and near-future changes of the London skyline? 22 Bishopsgate, 1 Undershaft, the Vase etc?
I would visit London again, for many reasons, but going up inside this building would make me rush the trip that much sooner.
The views would certainly be awesome. But the overall design looks like it’s made for a cheap sci-fi movie.

I would love to know what The B1M's opinion is. I like the concept but this is a bit too phallic for my liking.
The consensus in our office: it's impressive and eye-catching... but we love London and are kind of hoping it doesn't get built!

It's very ugly and looks like many other things besides a tulip also don't they already have the London eye for scenic views why make something else that provides "views"?

Why didn't you talk about it. It's placement and base shape are fascinating, looks like they're trying to get use out of the tiny corner of empty land beside that one existing building. I bet that will become a trend over the next few years, re purposing tiny pieces of land into weirdly shaped sky scrapers.

How about build a Pentagon shape skyscraper 360 meters 1,181ft standing alone and not have them clustered with other tall buildings? And a view on the roof top?
Just when I thought the Gherkin was as phallic as a building could look.
I like the creativity, but I worry about the economics. It looks like the building requires customers who are willing to pay a high premium. High-end whims are difficult to predict years in advance, but that building willl take many years to pay for itself. I'm not saying it will fail, only that I would pay very close attention to their risk management plans. Hopefully the bold design comes with a bold plan to reduce construction and maintenance costs by utilizing new technologies.
I wouldn't be surprised if this would actually be built. So distopian! Exactly what London seems to be going for

Why concrete? If they made it out of glass this should be fine but concrete.All of London's greatest towers are made from glass!
If you’re already that high, why would you need to be spinning up and down in the same plane? Those horrible capsules would have more sense if they’d give you 360 degree views
As someone with a mild fear of heights, I truly hate modern architects, and I'm not going there.

@Tin foil Hat man It had a distinct look and was a major hub of culture. Destroying this world heritage by building new styles with no continuity or regard for history is in my books a major crime

I love this building! I love when architecture is different looking and tries something new which is probably why i dislike the new World Trade Center building in New York so much. It’s just so boring and unimaginative
I love this design but I just don't understand why are people are opposing this building i think it looks beautiful or even more in real life
London has become infamous for it's collection of ridiculous and inharmonious towers. The only positive attribute of this proposed whale-phallus is that it reduces the Gherkin's aesthetic impact. When did the English become so reliably vulgar?
