    Yes, certainly would make the skyline look even more like Dubai, if London's goal is to imitate Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Just a word of caution; novelty shaped buildings are already looking passé, and you will be stuck with them a very, very long time.

    Hello, I loved the trip and the images, I really enjoy watching people travel by bike, next week I am going to Barcelona and I have the intention of buying an electric brompton, I would like to know your opinion about your experience with the electric brompton Since it has been with it for several years, it would help me a lot to make my decision to buy it or see another option, thanks in advance, regards 😊👍

      It depends what you use it for. It would be excellent riding round Barcelona and commuting. But in London if I’m folding my bike and using the Underground I prefer my non electric Brompton. You’ll need an extra battery if you’re going over 40-50 miles and you use more juice if it’s hilly or there’s a headwind. It was OK on well tended French gravel but a bit shakey on rough English ones. But I love riding it on decent roads.

    I think it really is a HORRIBLE structure that has to be blocked no matter what. It will create a huge damage to the already growing city skyline with a tacky design that will be out-of-date very quick. The city is a world class financial hub, not an amusement park. I really hope this NEVER comes to reality.

    I was wondering how the Brompton electric performs on forest paths (not off road, but moderate bumpy roads). Once i tested an electric Brompton in a park on a bumpy road the Motor went off. Do you have any experiences you are willing to share on this subject? By the way your road trip is quite impressive watched it several times, great composition!

      @pgsmurray 3 роки тому

      Stephan - I have ridden the Brompton for periods on moderately bumpy paths but did not find any technical issues either with the motor or the bike itself. However it does not make for a very comfortable ride! My bigger issue was with forest paths when they were wet and the front wheel with the motor became very slippery when accelerating. This also happened on loose gravel. I used the Brompton Electric on a ride round the coast of Britain, which I started last year but had to stop after a week because of COVID19. You can read about it here www.petermurraylondon.com/blogs-and-articles. I will be continuing this ride in stages over the next few years. Thanks for your comments and good riding!

    I personally am pro-skyscrapers in London, I have nothing against historic area's and buildings but people need to realise that buildings gain and loose Importance, and if we try to focus to much on showing of and protecting "history" we are gonna get left behind by other modern cities that are willing to take the step to advance. Plus London compared to some other cities doesn't have that many skyscrapers planned for the near future so, people that are anti-London skyscrapers don't have that much to be worried about.I would personally really like to see London step into the 450 meter range I think it would resonable for both sides. I would suggest putting it near a major station such as Waterloo.........? Also these skyscrapers would actually provide good views of "historical buildings"😂

    A lovely video! About a month later I took my electric Brompton by Eurostar and TGV to Avignon, with the same idea as you - a farewell to EU membership. I then rode a lazy loop around Vaucluse, taking in Gordes, Apt and many other hill villages and small towns, preparing myself for Mont Ventoux, approached from Sault and over to Malaucene. @@pgsmurray I had ridden the Col de la Liguiere the previous day, climbing around 850m from Apt to Sault to see how the climb would affect battery use, and so had satisfied myself that ridden carefully I would make the cafe two thirds of the way up Ventoux fairly easily. The overall climb from Sault to the top is around 1,200m - so rode on Level 1 for the first few km then Level 2 all the way to the cafe, (Chalet Reynard) where there's a bike shop with a charging point for electric bikes. I took my own Brompton Fast Charger with me, which only takes two hours to fill a completely empty battery, so after a decent lunch with lots of rehydrating beers listening to a band that would not have been out of place in Clochemerle, I carried on at a dizzying Level 3 to the top, pausing to take a few pictures at Tommy Simpson's memorial. It ws acually quite funny sitting on my fully laden Brompton cycling past carbon fibre road bikes. I bade them 'Bonjour' as I passed them and to a man they all came over to me at the top to look at this ridiculous little bicycle that had ridden past them. I did let on that there was a motor in the front wheel. Eventually. The trickiest part was not the climbing, but the descent - a drop of around 1600m or so to Malaucene. I weigh 78kg, and had 10kg of luggage in the front bag and 4kg in the saddle bag and there was a nasty smell of burning on the way down as my brake blocks were beginning to melt on the red-hot little 16" rims! I had to take quarter of an hour breaks every 400m of descent to cool the rims, in case I blew the tyres or lost the brakes! I'm now watching your epic PtoP ride, which is giving me a few ideas! lh3.googleusercontent.com/sibhZnKWDevnfVjXNxRf4rPT2P2NO4t9v3g63NJ5F7sAMj4PRBYpnGOCNIhR2VBiHdfGXb4FGMr2_klbpO__CeX9Wipl11YZUwCSUQchKQzl1XVPxar5mUrYjNO1QHvuPZDRQOUnN3RqJgGCvDmYR7LnkN9x0CsK2NBwecmqfMMqo8xIvkQJQ4i5nqcv7pKYjvLJFexxyXQk_DRl14wAoh5LARoWfo13cl_rHbC2lZ-b217rZcTEFzUlOzr1LR6pTdSn5f1gW28rztfKLoE6tYoROnnGB4-Ei3uKQYd7RjnHC37VUty99nbpyaONUMuIRfxhD2GbKN_DSIzXDUDOYqJQcI7ukzuiAmn3xbf7nMIU_y0UaBdsz_RBDZamnTpb0kpqF1p34KpK8Tf8xgxRNYbfGCU-4XSKNHjyxBnYrZkOF_4R5zQMUsPjsTmDHmqn8caHsZbOdGbI8EL1H64ga-jX2vxp2GeteCsbQ85S2aeLuTY3N7nxMWuMdeJYTkHWCOWJvdXc9-Zf0y85F3n6fKP65x0vxFASfXmprBsO1ul089deFYSavJ9L9ujjCUrsJgGVyl9VgOweWg-kBKLXb25FvOO-QbhfdcV4wgK_UPhpUDkCZQ3uBUz3rbfqpUzTKojLHbWyMnVEqBu6X0PLx8QfEvg9xw7VXADVJphE2c6eewsG7IGnli-FL2Hh9P8=w973-h1297-no?authuser=0
