EDIT: The next episode is out now! Click here to watch now: ua-cam.com/video/atWatIIVzjM/v-deo.html Thank you for the comments and support!! 😭 I've been pretty stressed out for the past few weeks and haven't been able to sleep at all. This was my first time making a vlog too, so I got quite frustrated because I kept getting stuck not knowing how to progress the video and tell the story in an interesting manner. This was all I could come up with so I hope it's still enjoyable for you! These comments really give me motivation to keep going! I'm very happy to be able to share my adventures in Japan! Part 2 will be my next full day in Japan that's filled with even more action! So please subscribe and hit the bell to get notified when it comes out!! 😁😁
Bro, I don't think you understand how entertaining you are. It's legit hilarious to just sit in a livestream and listen. This video was hilarious! Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine.
Abroad in Japan theme for being abroad in Japan hahaha *also, this was really enjoyable, and I wish you had slowed down a bit more because it would have been cool to see you in the interactions or in "real time" as you told the stories. The love for Yakuza is reeeeeal.
The station lady assumed you already knew how you were going to get there, via bus, taxi, train, or subway depending on what station you were at. Being fluent in Japanese sets your bar really high, and you can only really know these things by living there lol
I'm so proud of you dude! I just started today but this gave me so much motivation to keep the discipline to keep going so hopefully I can do the same one day!
Thank you very much! For sure, DISCIPLINE is the name of the game. The only reason I've made this much progress in such a short amount of time wasn't because I was motivated, but because I build the discipline to put my head down and spend hours studying every single day for the past 3 years. With discipline and the right learning method, I'm sure you can get there too! Here's something that might be useful for you: ua-cam.com/video/c7N58Xrl7Jk/v-deo.html
I randomly half-watched some of your grammar videos a few days ago whille on the bus. Thought you probably had like a few hundred thousand subscribers but it appears not! Thanks for the content, I'm subscribing this instant :D
Thank you very much for watching my videos and leaving a comment! Still quite far away from several hundred thousand but with you here, I'm one step closer! 😊
8時間, hahaha I died xD I'm also learning Japanese and this was so funny! I went to Japan last year but could barely speak it, my progress is literally so slow.... I think you're awesome to try only doing it all in Japanese
Doin that Japan Speedrun 😭😂 Thanks for watching and commenting! Don't worry about slow progress, STEADY progress is better than fast progress 🧠 Consider checking out this video to see what I did in my first year of learning: ua-cam.com/video/Jp92ZHyR_rw/v-deo.html
The youtube algorithm brought me here. To my (intermediate level Japanese) ear, your Japanese sounded really good! I enjoyed your humour and how you edited your video. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I rarely comment but this video was so captivating! Don't even worry about the editing style, it was engaging and nice and you did manage to tell the story very well! I also appreciated the small details that you included that make a first trip to a new place seem very relatable, e.g. like blanking out in a foreign language and being confused where to go. Loved the video, looking forward to more content from your trip! :)
Very nice, dude! I did this on easy mode a few years ago. I was able to use only Japanese after six years of learning, but I purposefully stayed away from Tokyo. This, along with my visibly obvious low vision, contributed to the 駅員's willingness to guide me through the stations. That did at least force me to interact with people. I went to Osaka for a couple of days, but I hadn't gone to Sotenbori until after my trip, so I still had no prior knowledge of the area.
Thank you very much! For a second I got thrown off because I forgot "Dotonbori" was the name of the real place and was like ??? 😂 Also imagine getting helpful 駅員, couldn't be me 😭😭
For real for real. I didn't have anybody to film my initial reaction to standing under the arch, but I was completely blown away by how big it was compared to the games. I just stood there with the arch reflecting off my eyes, paralyzed and awestruck. Goosebumps turned to max- and I swear Recieve You was playing inside my head. Felt like a movie.
For someone who had never been to Japan before, you speak so naturally! The station lady was definitely thinking you were Japanese hahaha and some people tend to know which line they want to stay on. Maybe that’s why! 😅 Awesome job so far!
You're so good!! We're the same. I've been studying for 3 years already but man my japanese is not as natural as you! But so happy for you coz you already made it to japan!! Also, simple vlog is enough for me I guess but you still keep your video contents quality as high as you can! Hats off to you man!! Keep going!!
Nice to see people who share the similar journey! Everybody learns at different speeds and puts different amounts of effort in, so don't be down that we have some skill difference. Celebrate your own journey because you'll definitely get here one day when you put in the time and effort too! 😁 Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
This is such a great video idea. More people learning Japanese should do this. I myself have gotten n2 and is going to japan by myself for the first time in October and is stressing the hell out not knowing if my Japanese is actually usable having nvr talked to anybody in Japanese
I don't know if this was intended but seeing you on the train with a super serious look, but than in the window reflection we can see your arm outstretched holding up the phone made me laugh more than I expected 🤣. 10/10 Video
this is so freaking funny lol 😂😂😂. Subscribed since watched your video about Hiragana and Katagana learning... Your channel'll be blowing up soon 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. Interesting content 😊
Your video was excellent. I will definitely take inspiration from you. I feel like this format would work with so many topics. I hope you do more travel vlogs.
Respect man great video and hope you enjoyed, I’ve also been planning to go to Japan for a while but it just never worked out, hopefully this summer though 🙏
I've been wanting to go for so many years and it just never lined up too 😭 (looking at covid) Glad my friends finally gave me that final push and I made the decision on 3 days notice Thanks for watching and commenting!
I went to Japan last summer for 10 days, I traveled from Tokyo all the way to Osaka and going through almost everything in between. Looking at this video reminds me of all those places I got used to seeing and the places I used to pass by. I remember sitting down in front of Hachiko watching tourists taking pictures next to him.
Really fun video bro! Found your channel through your Anki Connect fix a few days ago. But seriously enjoying your content. And this was your best video yet!
Your video got suggested to me and it was such a delight! Your video is of high quality and I can't believe you're not a big UA-camr because you definitely deserve to be one! I'm going to Japan next month (一人で!) and I so want to be like this 😂 でも、まだ上手じゃないんです! It does really help when you have native speakers to talk to
Also great video I really like this type of video where someone films something as it happens (like your trip, or playing a game, or whatever), then turns it into a narrative in post! Really enjoyable, looking forward to the rest!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Delighted to hear you enjoyed the story telling style! Can't wait to share the other exciting adventures from the trip! Stay tuned for more!
i had the same challenge but soon gave up as they spoke very differently from what i learned over the pst few months, hahah but i was able to catch up on it as a month or 2 passed there, good job on not giving up though
That's why it's important to spend time immersing in the language using NATURAL input, not stuff made specifically for leaners or weird sentences from textbooks and Duolingo ^^
I am Japanese, and I am glad to hear your challenges in Japan! Your Japanese accent is awesome. It's perfectly like Japanese one's. Enjoy Japan 🇯🇵 and there are a lot of places to see in Japan, so have fun! 日本語を勉強してくれてありがとう!頑張ってね😆
Went last month for the first time. Had the same reaction when I walked into Kabukicho!!! Also we had the same 'problem' with having left one night without any accomodation, except we did it on purpose to experience an all nighter. I got my friend wasted in an Izakaya and we had to spend the night in a net cafe instead...
Oh you got balls to go all nighter at Kabukicho 😂 They have a word for that btw (not exactly your situation but similar), it's トーヨコ (to-yoko) But yesss bro, completely stunned at Kabukicho, it was amazing!
This comment really stuck to me, my pet peeve is when people call other's "talented" and brush off all their achievements like they were just gifted to them without effort. In reality I just put my head down and spent hours and hours every day researching and studying for 3 years straight. Really glad my hard work is recognized. This comment really makes the whole video worth making, thank you very much 😇🙇♂️
This is so awesome. I have almost the exact same itinerary as you when I go to Japan in about two weeks. I won't be going Japanese only but I'll be doing my best to speak it as much as I can ❤
Feels just like watching an Abroad in Japan video with more anime/game references. 👍 Here before this video blows up. Remember me when you're famous, bro. 🥺🙏
I came across this video by accident, damn it’s so funny and not boring😃 I was surprised to see that you only have 7 thousand subscribers +1 Now Hi from Russia by the way✌
I did something similar in 2003. I went to Japan from Cancun Mexico after spending a few years learning kanji by myself using just a kanji book. Back then we didn't have so much internet, in the 90's. My japanese was nowhere as good as Jouzu's but I ended up staying 8 years in a row, married a couple of times with Japanese women. Those were the days....
Great video, pleasant to watch. I LOL'd when you used the word 閉所恐怖症 after failing at 滞在. I also forget the simplest words but never words like 阿鼻叫喚. Hope you had fun! Though I don't know what a friend is. Never heard of such a thing.
Your videos are so well made and entertaining! I recently picked up learning Japanese again because of your videos. How did you meet your Japanese friends?
Thank you very much! Awesome to hear that my videos gave you the push to pick up Japanese again! I'll reveal everything about how I met my friends in the next video! 😁
Thank you so much! 😭I can't believe I didn't know a word as common and important as 滞在, it literally kept showing up everywhere from booking sites to hotels! At least now I'll never forget it 😂
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed the video! I would love to share some of HK too using the unique lens of a Japanese learner (sharing some secret Japanese stores & restos and stuff). My friends who you'll meet in the next vlog also have plans to come to HK in the future, so when they're here it'll definitely make for a crazy video too 😎😎
By the way your editing was sooo good and funny!! I also have a YT channel making vlogs from my trip haha, so I can appreciate good editing because I know how hard it is xD
4:17 I know what you mean. I recently took my first trip to Japan too. I had a bit more trouble because I missed a couple of stops going from Haneda to Chiba, but when I got on the right train, that feeling of "I'm finally here" really takes over. Something tranquil about it.
For sure! I didn't have time to really chill and let it all settle (because the hotel booking issue was stressing me tf out 💀), but when I finally got the time to relax, I just let my mind be empty and just smiled. Tranquil!
@@JouzuJulsWhen you're a guy who has slept in some crazy places for the sake of saving money like me, doing it in Japan is a breeze. Really, people don't need shelter or a bed every night. It's overrated.
I'm so annoyed I hadn't come across 滞在 until then!! The world literally kept popping up over and over again the second I arrived, I almost saw it every day!! 😭😭
A legitimate good reason if you can hold onto it 😎 If you're gonna start, allow me to be part of your journey! I can kickstart you with a guide to learning the alphabet in basically 2 hours: ua-cam.com/video/c7N58Xrl7Jk/v-deo.html
Yea I got really confused about that too, so the Pasmo allows you to enter the platform, which allows you to board standard trains. However, the express is not a standard train, so you need a ticket to board the express. This means you will first use the Pasmo to pay the platform fare, then need the ticket to board the express.
7:35 Mission failed, we'll get 'em next time! jokes apart I actually laughed a lot with that "fuck" since something similar happened to me once, sadly not in Japan, but still I can relate

Here before you hit 1 million views on this banger
Glad to have you along for the ride!
The yakuza 0 side quest music in the back slaps XD
Also could u not use the pasmo card for the train to tokyo from narita? just curious how it works
Yea I got really confused about that too, so the Pasmo allows you to enter the platform, which allows you to board standard trains.
However, the express is not a standard train, so you need a ticket to board the express.
This means you will first use the Pasmo to pay the platform fare, then need the ticket to board the express.
I love the animation 🤣 面白い
Cool video
I liked the video new subscriber here!!!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for subscribing! 😎
You don’t need a Suica or a Pasmo card anymore. It’s now available both on iPhone and Android.
Interesting video title for me ngl ❤
