- A few snippets of a quarter peal of Plain Bob Caters rung at Cornhill, rung for a very smartly dressed garden party. After coming down, we highly thanked for our ringing which made it very worthwhile.
Bob Caters may not be the most musical method at times, however, the band gave it their best shot on the bells, rang for a worthwhile occasion and there were some rather respectable areas.
Going to the belfry restored the novelty for me of going to ring at a fine, heavier London ring of bells; walking into the belfry, they are up against you, above you, clean and dominating, the tenor of course standing out virtually in full view. Restored and rehung in 2011, only 13 years old. I'm not sure of the contraption on the tenor but presumably something to soften the strike and make it hum a bit more.
I'm pretty sure there will be a few who make the comparison between this 12 and two very similar rings of 10 in the same key on this channel.

There should be some bells at St Stephen Walbrook, it's a tower that's missing in the city. St Bride's Fleet Street too.
The 12 of 1960 and the frame was my dads job as he was a bell hanger for Whitechapel.
He didn't like the job nor the bells, he said the bells were to heavy for the tower and he didn't like bells on two levels.
Also he thought they were also crappy sounding bells and I think he was correct, I thought the tenor sounded like an old sauce pan.
Whilst he like Whitechapel Trebles my dads favourite saying Whitechapel for Trebles and Taylor's for tenors.
This new peal is a quantum leap over the bell bangers, im sure he would love them.
Man the s23U really handles the noise and oversaturation of the sound. I am shocked with how loud bells are that it didn't max out multiple times
@@DrpanProductions It almost did a better job than the GoPro, though I use two sounds and combine them balance the audio out.

I dont think theres any decent videos of these bells in the belfry, you have captured these brilliantly.
