  • On 28th December the Lilliputters’ Guild visited London again for its Christmas outing, to three rather fine towers, including St Lawrence Jewry, Walworth and St Mary le Bow. It was brilliant to see everyone, have a good catch up, do some ringing and go to the pub, on more than one occasion!
Photos this time were taken on separate visits to London, with a handful from the day itself; including ones from the start of a belfry cleanup at Jewry and when the previous tenor clapper was in at Bow. The London lights and building architecture when looking East to Cornhill at Bank station and on the roof at Jewry is always very impressive and continues to be a place I feel like home!
Jewry bells never fail to disappoint and they were rung well to a mix of call changes, Grandsire, Stedman and half a course of Cambridge! A trip to the belfry was a bonus too. The church itself a work of art. For the post lunch tower, we ventured to Walworth; a couple of pints more than normal for Thursday lunchtime very nearly affected concentration, but hopefully this didn’t come across too much on this delightful and fun little Whitechapel 8! Yorkshire, backgrounds and downwards is featured. The final tower was Bow - arriving slightly late meant a rare occasion of listening to them outside, where the sounds seem to bounce off the walls; the bells glistening. The striking also seemed very much on point too - a particular highlight being both the accurately struck rounds and Stedman Triples on the back 8.

Great Video! Also do you have a video of the bells at St Anns Church Tottenham because there really arent that many video's of their lovely bells (except me posting them on my other channel)

Always lovely to see the lilliputters so much promise for ringing
Jewry are onexof the finest decent sized 8s from Whitechapel and a lovely church too.
What can i say about Bow, well my dad and Billl Theobald hung them in 1961.
That is the first time i have ever heard the back 8, they sound wonderful.
The finest bells in London I think although I love the iconic unmistakeable sound of St Pauls, old school but the sound of London.
Walworth dont do it for me, i always think light bells or superlight bells sound to toy like, a d that is just my personal view.
My old man also hung the old 12 at Cornhill, what a horrible manky sound of old potsxand pans they were, so glad they were replaced.

Can't say that I think very much of Walworth - they're great for what they are, but they're just too light for an eight to me.
