Amongst the bells: St Lawrence Jewry

A touch of Stedman Triples from the belfry at St Lawrence Jewry, rung as part of the Lilliputters Christmas outing to London on 28th December.
This was shortly before the clappers came out for refurbishment.
Felt like testing the 3D maps capability for the title page sequence!

A really lovely Whitechapel 8,one of the finest along with St Olaves Hart Street.
I used to ring foe weddings here in the 1960s along with Clerkenwell a classic G&J 8.

Question. Do they just unhook the clapper? Or does the whole bell get removed? Stupid question I'm sure, but I'm American so we don't have a lot of change ringing towers here 😂 gorgeous ringing!

There are nuts on top of the headstock which get unscrewed. That lets the clapper fall out the bottom of the bell.

Yes, the tenor is in Eb

Yes, 3,5 and 8. The aren’t currently working though, will be fixed in the next few weeks.

They are definitely a great 8, but the Gillett bells at StcJames Clerkenwell are lovely.
