The first Link to be in 3 games would be ALttP/LA/OoX... This would however be the first direct trilogy in the series..

Theres a part of me that hopes the screen fades to tell you "~~~The story here diverges from the stated events of LoZ: Breath of the Wild~~~" right before the champions fight the blights
I could see the final fight being against waves of guardians in that one field where he was protecting Zelda. Would be so hype even if you fail.

In the DLC, that is literally one of the missions. I'm not even kidding. I was put in an arena full of monsters and more monsters kept coming each minute, and for ten whole minutes the objective was just: Survive

It's actually from the first ganon fight 10,000 years ago. It is not specified what caused it but most people believe it was probably a divine beast missing it's target. That's what it says in the creating a champion book.

to be honest, the great deku tree did SPECIFY if he meant Link and Zelda had everything they needed to succeed dead or alive... just a depressing thought to throw out there- (bc technically the divine beasts and the other champions did help them! just not,, yknow,, ALIVE)
I think the tree was giving a unclear prophecy to Link and Zelda about link facing ganon 100 years later.
