Damn. I'm still not over the fact that nintendo strait up said " oh while you guys wait for Breath of the Wild 2, here's a whole entire new game."
They are the best.
Or more accurately "Hey, while you wait for Breath of the Wild 2, here's Breath of the Wild Zero."
Corona had to do it to us... :/
@@tonytan5945 Yeah that sentiment will last for about a day. Fans be crazy with Big N more often than not.
Team Ninja is making this, so Nintendo has nothing to do with this development-wise except the story.
Certainly explains how link one-handed took down three lynels and an army of monsters in that one flashback
The other hand was busy thinking about Zelda.

Imagine that you're a hylian soldier and they call you for training. When you reach the training ground, you see a shirtless Link running at you with a sledgehammer with apples shoved in his mouth.
This is a GEM of a comment
I guess Link had to skip breakfast to start training.
That sounds like link honestly
I would be terrified if he has bananas shoved in his mouth.

It says in BotW that Urbosa in combat looks like she's doing a graceful dance. Glad to see Hyrule Warriors actually staying true to that.
Nintendo has always excelled at paying attention to the very small details in their games and not forgetting them

@Rita dude can stop dead a train(lynel) with his weak hand. And he's like 12, so yeah, they might've made an exception
Kool Kid22 lol I hope that last part was sarcasm because he’s 17
I remember urbosa only allowed link to enter because he’s a champion
Lily Sewell his incarnations in the downfall timeline, e.g. games like LttP, were around 12 iirc. Also the games Lynels were previously involved in
@@techisense Is he the same age as Zelda? In this game he looks quite a bit smaller than Zelda, so I guessed he was a bit younger.
Zelda: *puts cryonis on sand without water*
Me: Wait, that's illegal
That’s a good point. I like to think that the Sheikah Slate is possibly at its best, and cryonis can take moisture from the air and freeze it into blocks. Link used the basic version in Breath of the Wild.
Kekoapono or in botw, they just tried to make the shekiah slate simpler because it might’ve been more damaging and out of control if they kept advancing it idk
RP Artist That could work. Either way, it’s clear that the slate is purposefully not as powerful in Breath of the Wild as it is in Age of Calamity, and it’s not just for gameplay reasons. This is well thought out.
Shirtless Link fighting with a giant hammer and aggressively eating apples is hilarious

@@Ryan-yi6uu No it isn't, there just some changes because its 100 years in the past.
@@justarandomshiba2781 no it's a build from the ground up because the game is not open world and they had to make the places that were in ruins in BotW. sure, they used the same textures but the world is probably different
I love seeing locations that were ruins in BotW, such as Lon Lon Ranch being the location of the training mission they showed. All of the destroyed settlements are also included on the map too, which is cool to see.

Looks like each character/weapon playstyle brings its own unique twist like urbosa’s lightning gauge and link’s heavy sword self damage. Love how they’re making each character feel distinct
OG Hyrule Warriors did that actually... It's just that people just kept spamming the same damn combo because it was "Optimal"
I would wish there were special attacks like there was in Pirate warriors. It has been my favorite warriors game so far. but it seems everyone has just those 4 items or runes.

Sakurai: "Zelda's more of a researcher than a fighter in BotW, so we gave her a different skin."
Nintendo: "Lol watch this"
Zelda in Age of Calamity still shows how not much of a fighter she is but decides to fight regardless.
She doesn’t have any “Zelda” like power from her other incarnations, so it was still the right move to use another Zelda for Smash. :)
I know right lol:)
MIA MIA I can imagine Zelda being completely immune to Guardian and monster attacks regardless of how powerful as she walks confidently brightly lit with holy power towards the sanctum of Hyrule Castle.
Now everyone is making BOTW Link x ALBW Zelda fanart and I hate it
What I find funny is how A Link to the Past Zelda never uses magic in the game. Not even in the canon-stretched manga. BoTW Zelda actively uses more magic in-game.

Nintendo is a Japanese company. There's no reason to believe they wouldn't derive their ideas from native folklore. The Sheikah had always been inspired by ninjas since the day they were introduced all the way back in Ocarina of Time. It's not confirmed completely. But in the Creating a Champion book it's stated that Link MIGHT be from Hateno Village. The environment is very detailed and explorable, you can even enter some houses of the Gerudo village, in the other Hyrule warriors were all corridors without all these details.
That's always easier to do when you reimagine existing areas from an explorative adventure game and not make some up for an action game, don't you think?
@@HitsujiMamoru But that's better. The areas in the original felt bland and boring to explore and looking around for hearts and Skultulas was a bit of a pain. Making areas that are already based on existing maps is gonna be a lot more fun to fight in and explore imo.

This game will be the most amazing thing since Breath of the Wild. I can't believe how well they adopted BotW and how much further a warrior game has come since the first Hyrule Warriors. Well done, Nintendo.
Zelda's gameplay is good because it's in-character and fits in the setting. If she was squaring up with 200 Yiga with her bare hands or a sword, it wouldn't make sense. I like the techy approach where she has to use the environment and the runes to her advantage, something she probably definitely did a couple of times whenever she could help the fight.
@@joshuab7737 True, but her magic wasn't available to her up until the very end. I love how Zelda can barely protect herself from 2 yiga clan members but is also able to destroy an entire army of them herslef
Exactly my thoughts! Unless she didn't have her have the Sheikah Slate with her at the time?
I think that the shika slate wasn't fully unlocked for zelda in the botw cut scean attack but if this is later she could have figured out that side of the slate
At that moment, Link was already a champion, and she maybe was studying the divine beast with Urbosa, so she maybe didn't had it
Maybe, just maybe... Zelda was actually a decent warrior in the past, but not compared to the rest of the group, so that tainted Link's memories. You see her being whiny and useless in Link's memories in BotW, but maybe that's really just how he views her, and maybe she was actually a good fighter. That would be an interesting twist. Also, 100 years passed between this game and BotW, so that likely played a role in the decay of his memories as well.
But that's just a theory!

@@DerNussknacker11
It's not about ninjas, it's about summoning giant toads. Naruto is able to do this because he was taught by Jiraiya, but it's not a common ninja power. Combine that with the fact that Impa uses hand signs, something obscure outside of Naruto (at least here in the west), and it certainly seems like they are trying to make Impa into a copy of Naruto.

Imagine training your whole life away to become an esteemed guard,
You’re one of the Mose respected and feared people in your nation
_And that all goes to waste when a shirtless teenager who missed breakfast runs up on you with a sledgehammer_
Ebay that’s no ordinary shirtless teenager
Link is also a respected Warrior and feared through out hyrule
When I decided to watch this I really wasn’t expecting Impa to be the LoZ toad sage. Heckin dang man and she’s the future Hokage
I still can’t get over the fact that she’s making ACTUAL Naruto hand-signs
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo
Yes, naruto invented ninjas and ancient japanese mythology.
@@thejoaquindead9515
I understand that hand signs were a part of things but, I thought the summoning giant toads was something that only happened in Naruto.
Did Link pick up raw meat from killing Hylian soldiers?! XD
Rated M for cannibalism
Yeah I was like what
He's a vampire, that's why he doesn't age
He deadass stole their lunch boxes
Platinum LoL
The one thing I see absolutely nobody acknowledging is the map menu music!! It’s such a beautiful addition to the Zelda soundtrack :)
That's pretty cool that they have continuity of locations in this game, so you can see Lon Lon Ranch before it was destroyed. That's the biggest thing I'm hyped for tbh, to explore all the crazy stuff they pack into a gigantic map that, by now, I know like the back of my hand.
LINK FROM HATENO VILLAGE CONIFORMED! THE HOUSE HE BOUGHT IN BOTW MUST HAVE BEEN HIS BEFORE HE DIED 😱😱😱
Wow
omg yes i watched one of those theory vids last night before bed and i was pogging super hard when i heard her say he was from Hateno 😳
correction- he didnt die, just stasised in time to heal in the shrine of resurrection
Imagine having to buy back YOUR OWN HOUSE! Couldn't be me
Juan Quiñones actually it could be me... because it was... that was the first big side mission i did 😪
Name of the game is Hyrule Warriors:
UA-cam comments: Ey yo, why does this game plays like a Warriors game?
Right? More like Breath of the Wild Zero
I mean even the pop-in and framerate drops are classic Warriors lol
The chat was livid, while I'm chillin over there going MOOOAAR
Glad I'm not the only one who sees it.
While Link was training, he hit the Hylian Soldiers so hard that they faded from existence. That's impressive.
Idea: exploration mode
Unlocked at end of the game
You can explore the whole of Hyrule as either character with few or no enemies pre-Clamity, talk to people, explore and complete quests.
If they actually do this, then this game is going to sell much more, I'm calling it...
I dont know why no one is talking about the possibility of ROBBIE being a character?!
Maybe not Robbie, but his egg guardian. I mean, Robbie and Purah are merely researchers, they are supporting characters like the King. I think the only playable characters are the Champions Zelda, Impa and the egg guardian since they are displayed during the loading
Maybe not playable, but definitely significant characters to the story.
@@GabrieleTarallo Robbie can actually fight.
It mentioned in BoTW Robbie could take on Guardians himself
@@GabrieleTarallo Yeah in BOTW he wrote in his diary that after calamity struck he would go out and hunt down guardians with ancient arrows for research purposes
"No breakable weapons"
Me: *Shouting* THANK YOU! TwT
Breaking weapons is a good thing
Naruto Uzumaki not in this style of gameplay
@@manoc6943
Not in the original game either. Fire Emblem is about the only series that makes it work
Well you DO have breakable subweapons like Ice rod and Fire rod. Just not main weapons.
Breakable weapons wouldn’t work with this gameplay. Nothing would last nearly enough
12:20 Link is confirmed 100% from Hateno Village
No one:
Zelda: It’s high noon.
I love that this looks more like Breath of The Wild than a Warriors game. No offense to Warriors games....
nah full offence m8
Warrior games suck, so no offense taken.
@@noobtubephails not this one
@@alansolari6971 yes this one is fine
Yeah, it *LOOKS* like BOTW, but the gameplay is still Warriors - a.k.a kill hundreds of idiotic AI enemies at once, occasionally fighting that tough guy that doesn't suffer too much dementia.
It's gonna be REALLY interesting to see how this game ends if every playable character is a one-person army.
Oh...oh no
What
I know this is a prequel and the character I'm about to mention probably came after the events that take place in this game but imagine the *_flower lady_* being playable
Ed o'Bul Nah she’d be too op
It's a hack and slash style game, so it fits the war theme but it's not really how strong the characters are as depicted.
14:30 That's the most brutal "training" I've ever seen
Did they say link is from hateno? Does that mean he bought his old house?
Probably lol
The house would've belonged to his family, and since they all died while he was in the chamber of resurrection, the house would've been sold off.
Bruh
Yes.
Wow, a century really did a number on link, he used to be a god apparently
To be fair, he did almost die, and it did take him 100 years in a magic bath to finally wake up.
If you think about how much muscle loss probably happens when someone's in a coma for a few years, it's easy to imagine how Link could go from "I can take out thousands of enemies in a day without breaking a sweat" to "I can only sprint for a few seconds before I have to take a break and catch my breath" lol
I mean he did deflect a guardian’s laser with a pot-lid around this era and defeated experienced soldiers as a child.
Pre-Amnesia or just BoTW Link in general is a boss, it’s as if all the incarnations came into one being
I believe that was the Calamity that did the big number, but yeah.
I dunno man, post calamity Link pretty much terrorizes everything he faces after a few hours too
Dude pretty much went from being Doom Slayer to getting one-shotted by Lynels. Talk about a massive nerf.
Is it just me, or is Urbosa surprisingly SHORTER than the rest of the Gerudo clan?
I thought she was supposed to be pretty tall (as Gerudo usually are in Breath of the Wild).
The smaller the ninja, the quicker you can expect them to be
@@commonviewer2488 But... she's not a ninja.
It's probably a graphical limitation. It happens a lot in games where you have characters who are much taller than the others. In cutscenes, the character is the proper height, but in gameplay said character is the same height as the other characters because of how they had to build the character models.
hakkyounotenshi thanks for that nice explanation:)
@@hakkyounotenshi its not cuz the warriors games are fine with tall character s
"Link beating up Hylian soldiers" no wonder they lost
I'm pretty stoked that they're using all of the in-game assets and game engine from Breath of the Wild.
Then what would they do?
Create new??? That's a waste of time
Keep in mind: Urbosa did ALL THIS but died to Thunderblight.
I feel hurted after seeing this comment
she was unarmed
Tbh yaga sucks asf
You can't compare the Yiga and Thunderblight. TB is lightningquick. Yiga are not.
thunderblight is the hardest boss in the game, harder than gannon
