I have made several dragon scale tumblers both with card stock and vinyl. I love the look of card stock over vinyl but I have found card stock made are so much heavier. I have never seen that thermal gel before. This tumbler is stunning! Perfect job. Thank you
Thank you!! You are very right, the cardstock tumblers absolutely have more weight to them and I guess in the end it's all about the overall design features that you are looking for.
@@AmericanMomCreations Absolutely. In my opinion the card stock tumblers are much prettier and give a better "dragon scale" design. Thanks again for the great example and awesome look. Hugs
This is gorgeous. I loved it. I really want to try this, u have me wanting to try something new and unique but easy to do. I am a new subscriber to ur channel and look forward to what u will be doing next. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@AmericanMomCreations I will definitely send u some pictures. I really wanna try the dragon scales but I might have to use mica powders bc I don't have that color shift mix that u used in this video
thanks for sharing this technique. i love the mood ring effect. and you are so clever attaching your scales. that application was so quick.. thanks for sharing. Donna
Now this is a tumbler I’m definitely going to try!! My niece is a fan of lizards 🦎 scaley pets!! I just purchased a mood changing pen but looks like I’ll need to order some of what you used!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Hello, I can't seem to find the dragon scales that are attached like yours. I pulled up the website that is listed on what you used but it doesn't look like that those are attached. Thanks in advance. Crystal
Good Afternoon! You are exactly right. The file I have linked was the original file I used and then modified it to connect them together. That was before anyone had posted a connected file on Etsy. Here is the link to another listing that has the scales already connected. I hope this helps. www.etsy.com/listing/911514080/svg-file-dragon-scales-easy-linked?click_key=a5bc6599fec33f20e90e825be85b22997642cd94%3A911514080&click_sum=69a0662e&ref=shop_home_recs_1&pro=1
I love this! What do you estimate the cost is per tumbler (minus the tumbler because we will all use different tumblers)? and what would you charge for it?
Thank you!! I start my color changing tumblers at $55. My estimated cost per tumbler for just materials is around $25 and that will be dependent on how much you pay for the color changing pigment and how much you use per tumbler.
Genius! Never made one bc the individual scales are bonkers 😂 but this I can do!! Just happen to have a tiny jar of the color changer that I don’t have any plans for. Win win 👏👏👏 ~~Did you see the claws coaster (pouring your heart out) Julie made about 6 months ago? This tumbler sitting on that coaster would be a dragon lovers perfect gift imo ❤ well someone who’s really close bc that’s a lot of work👌 Thanks for sharing 🌹🌹
You are right, there are quite a few options. I just use the regular Mod Podge Matte. It has a yellow label, and I have it linked in the description of the video in my Amazon Store under Crafting Supplies. Hope this helps!
The video was cool but why would you not show the entire process? Like how you went about applying the epoxy and the resin? I have never seen this type of Tumblr and I would have liked to have seen how the Tumblr was made in its entirety
I apologize for the inconvenience, this video was never intended to be a tumbler for beginners which is why I did not show applying the epoxy. But the epoxy is applied just like any other tumbler.
Thank you for sharing all your experience in trials and successes.
Absolutely!! Thanks for watching.
Gorgeous!! My son would love that one. He is a dragon person!!

Wow please tell me what gel you used
Thank you
This is the Thermal Rainbow Gel from PDB Creative Studio. I have it linked in the description for quick access.

What kind of Mod Podge are you using? I always see tutorials where people use mod podge, but when I went to buy some there are like 16 types of it,

do you have to dry the pigment first to activate it? Thanks
You can let it air dry if you prefer. But yes, once it’s dry on the dark tumbler you will start to see the color change.
I can't figure out how to attach the dragon scales?
As in, attach them as one piece before cutting?
CCDIY code doesn't work :(
Make sure to use AMC2022 and the order must be $40 or more. Let me know if you still have problems with it and I’ll find out what is going on!
