I watched this video and WOW! I knew right away that I had to make one...so I did and my cup came out beautiful! I did change it up some and didn't add the snowflakes and glitter and I added one more pinstripe to the stripes that go around the cup. Loved making it so much that now I'm going to try it in different colors! Thank you so much for your time and effort in creating these tutorials.

Awesome! Can’t wait to see which one you do first !!
OMG. So I watched this video 3X, stopping and rewinding and so on. Thank you for this one. I do have a question though. I love these colors and I actually have all 3 of these colors... but my question is. When I am picking 3 other colors how do you know what color to start with? What order do you always go in. lightest to darkest?
Thank you!! Yes, I typically start with the lightest color first!
My favorite to date......I love it!!

Thank you!
Gorgeous! I love a great plaid.
Me too!
Love the color combo.
Thanks so much!
I never did a plaid un till I watched your video because you teach it so easy and well. Can u please share the vinyl colors please? Looked on that website an I am not finding these colors. Also any closer to the glitter u used?
Thank you ☺️
Unfortunately my local shop does not have the colors labeled in house but I know the gold is the gold metal and if you search ‘rose gold’ on the site a few options pop up.
Some of the colors will be released soon- they are part of one of my mystery packs so I can not list them until everyone received their orders. :)
That is so pretty! I love the colors!
Thank you!!
Love this so much! Thank you so much!!
I absolutely love this! I think this is my favorite by far! ❤ thank you!

So so pretty!! 😊
Thank you!!
Great tumbler idea! I have never done a plaid tumbler they just looked too hard and I was intimidated, this I would definitely try😊 I love your tumbler the colors are gorgeous, thank you so much
What’s the glitters babe? I’m wanting to give this plaid a go
Love your tutorial ❤️
I mixed up a few of mine to add to this but I believe is was Jingle Juice, a little Coconut Cooler and then some snowflake I had. 😀
About how long do you allow the spray paint to dry in between coats? This tumbler is beautiful!
Thanks! It depends in the spray paint and the temperature. I use flat when I can bc it dries quicker, warmer temps also help it dry quicker. As soon as I can touch it and it feels dry, I apply my next strips of tape- sometimes only about 5 minutes. I don’t PRESS the tape down good. Just enough to get the part covered that I need covered. Hope this helps!
I love the way you did the plaid with spray paint. I love plaids, but don’t want to do the “paint squares and glitter” technique. To me, they are way too much work and don’t look nearly as clean as your’s! Thank you for sharing!💕
Yes!! That is exactly why I created this technique years back- I hated doing the glitter plaids and wanted to find an easier way that still looked great!
Was the glitter mix used ever given a name and is it available for purchase?
Is the glitter available yet? The snowflakes??
i did this tumbler step by step, I didn't lightly mist and i have harsh lines! so for anyone doing this do LIGHT mist of the paints!!!
1st time seeing your videos! Curious what the stuff on the top is and more than anything, how does your spray paint not peel up under the tape? I tried using painters tape on one of mine and it pulled off the spray paint in random bits. I was so discouraged because spray paint is definitely a medium for us tumbler makers! LOVE this tumbler soooo much! #newsub
Hi Heather! Welcome to my channel, glad to have you 🥰 When you say ‘stuff on the top’ are you referring to glitter? I sprinkled glitter on the top 1/2 of the tumbler.
For peeling- make sure you base your tumbler with a flat white paint- I prefer rustoleum. I also use (or try to use) all flat paints. Sometimes I have to use a semi gloss, flat paints seem to adhere better. Also, make sure you are doing THIN coats. They dry quicker and prevent peeling. :)
I love your tutorial, it’s inspired me to give this a try! Question though does the bottom of the tumbler have to come off and if so how is it done? I didn’t or couldn’t find the video link you mentioned on how to do so ?? Is it also with just the brand of tumblers you use ? Sorry I’m a complete beginner at this please forgive the 101 questions
Hey! No worries- no, you do jot HAVE to remove the bottom. It’s just preference. Only the bottom of The Steel Magnolia tumbler pop off like this. :)
If you scroll to my ‘middle drip’ halloween tumbler I show how to remove the bottoms. :)
@@damfancycreations thank you so much I appreciate your tutorials, I feel like I’m about to binge watch your others for more inspiration. For now though I have one in mind that I’d like to make for my sister as a Christmas present. Thanks again for your help!
What are you using to hold your tumbler while painting? Pool noodle??
Yep!
I see that I can order the vinyl, what are the two colors you used so that I know I am getting the right stuff
Hi! Unfortunately nothing in store has a ‘color label’ and store inventory may be different than what is online BUT I know for sure the gold is the gold metal, NOT brushed. The rose gold may be under the rose gold metals as well.
What happens if I misted to much ?? Do I have to start all over ?
I think it should be okay- I have done that a time or two haha
Love this! It’s beautiful and I prepped 2 tumblers to try this with 2 sets of colors. I used the exact paints and tape and let them dry overnight. Neither tumbler kept its paint. The tape ripped it off. Do you have an idea why that is? Thanks for the help!
What type of paint what it? Glossy paint tends to come up more easily. I also prep my cups with a FLAT white paint (typically rustoleum) before spraying the actual colors. And use flat or satin paint for all of my colors. :)
@@damfancycreations I did prep with 2X flat white, but I used satins for the first color. (Was doing an off white, light gray and light blue combo as well as the pinks and silver lilac. (Finding the vintage blush in matte is nearly impossible (or $18.99 a can on Amazon right now.))
I’ll give it another try with all matte colors and see if it’s any better.
Thank you very much for replying!
@@SEDial hmmm 🤔 might be your tape? Could just be really sticky! Try removed the tack before hand by pressing it on your jeans or tshirt so it isn’t quite as sticky!
@@damfancycreations That is a great suggestion. It is regular blue painters tape.. I do have the purple gentle tape as well, but was worried it would allow for seepage. I will try it and the blue tape removing the tack to see how it goes. Thank you for the help! (I'll let you know if something works.) :)
@@SEDial of course! And make sure your coats are THIN. 🥰
I love this tumbler! Is the glitter available yet? :(
It will be soon 🥰
Awesome! Also what length do you cut your pin stripes in?
Awesome! Also what length do you cut your pin stripes in?
Awesome! Also what length do you cut your pin stripes in?
@@ashleygagnon9498 I believe I have it stated in the description but most of my pinstripes are .07, .05 and .03 x12”. :)
Where are you able to find all these spray paint colors?
I get all mine at WalMart. :)
@@damfancycreations mine is always out!
@@mamiecarson yeah I typically snag a few cans of each when I find them, home depot or lowes also has a good selection.
If you ever redo a plaid tutorial, I think that I would have understood better if the paint colors had been numbered - tape over color #1. I may be a bit blond (I’m not blond) but when you said tape over your original tape lines I taped over color #2 instead of color #1. I had to go back and watch where you actually put your tape.
Hey Mary, I definitely know that sometimes it is hard keeping the tape straight! I’m not sure if numbering the colors would help bc I believe the original paint color will already be covered up when you go to add the final tape strip. I will definitely look the next time I do a plaid and if I think that would be less confusing I will for sure mention it!
So how do you do it with just 2 colors.. Or let's say i want to do black white and grey for a black white plaid feel? Say i want grey to be the "mixed" sprayed color so the color that's every other line in both rows that shows most. When do i spray it?
Trying to type out steps can be super confusing- but I do have a black and white plaid on my channel as well- I have a spray painted plaid playlist. :)
@@damfancycreations going to look now. Thanksssss
@@damfancycreations do you have TT? I think i follow you there too
I would start with a white base, grey, grey again and then your black. Hope this helps
@@kbest1639 ok i think i might can follow that lol.
Beautiful!!
