Then he brought her back, giving her back her memories as well but as he made her illegally, the law was going to get rid of her but as he got them away, decided to instead die together this time, so his machine deconstructed them and in the last scene where she looks at him, she says 'I love you' before she's gone again & he follows not long after. The other members we illegal as well and instead of being taken they decided to end things on their terms. I disagree with you about the girl. If you listen to the lyrics I think they were once in love but she was very mean to him. Lines like being cut by her knife like tongue, loving her hurts but being without her hurts more. I think Hungbin killed her and programmed her duplicate with only the memories of when they still in love. That was the illegal part. Still my #1 Vixx song. I could listen to it over and over

One of my favorite Vixx performances is a stage they did of Error and an intro called Steel Heart. I would love if you checked it out on stream sometime! This song actually has both a Chinese and a Japanese version, too! And if you search for it they also did a shortened acoustic version on some show, too, that's just as good. This had to have been a heckuva huge deal way back then when it first came out. I don't know of many other songs in kpop that were released in three (or more) languages.

I see that someone explained the story already quite well. So i will add another information about the timeline in general. Error is the sequel to Eternity. In Eternity the girl is dying and in Error he tries to bring her back after he turned himself so he could deal better with his emotions. Also i really can recommend you to watch the live stage to Error: Steel heart :)
I think every single person that has ever seen this music video, including me, has paused it in the same exact place and just said "WTF?" at Ravi wearing that garbage bag on this head, questioned themselves about the meaning of the universe, and then proceeded to continue enjoying the rest of the sad video.

Error is the sequel to Eternity.
In Eternity the girl is dying and in Error he tries to bring her back after he turned himself so he could deal better with his emotions.
