you know a group is astronomical when, whenever they have a comeback, in the comments people are talking about how the song affected them, how they interpreted it, how it makes them feel and how amazing the message is instead of just saying "oH mY GOd stREam It"
This kind-of song doesn't need much effort to interpret, easy to empathize with. That's not bad, i hope they mean it so we easily recognize this feeling we had and taking care of ourselves.
@@95zrealme37 true, but I still think that to be really able to make a song with such a powerful message that's easy to relate to, you need to have gone through it. Anyone can write a song about depression, emptiness or anxiety or such, but I believe you need to understand how it feels, you need to have felt it yourself to truly be able to write lyrics and tones that affect the listeners in such a strong way. That's what I really like about Day6-you can really feel their emotions through their music. You can tell they put a lot of their own feelings to what they do.
If you look at the comments below the mv, you can actually see that every person is talking about how the song made them feel. Day6 is actually the only group where I've seen that happen. This is the song of the year, it's actually that good. I've been waiting for your reaction, you never dissapoint.
Jyp groups be giving messages of their recent comebacks, idk about got7 tho, haven't read the lyrics Wannabe, Feel Special and Zombie but this one is really powerful
@@francesjoshuacomo5485 Got 7 have just right in 2015(It is about you are beautiful just the way you are)...Stray kids too they have my pace(stop comparing yourself message)actually stray kids had a lot about mental illness
i think this song really hit all the emotions, especially with the announcement of them taking a break... like they probably felt like this often as we all have and it really just makes the song more powerful... a lot of people have talked about crying the first time they saw it and i was definitely one of them
but it's amazing because this is their best charting song to date! they debuted in the melon top 10 and this is their first time ever having a song reached the top 10 on melon and now it's sitting at number 6 and i think it just shows how many people can really relate to the things they're saying and the emotions they're portraying here... day6 kings of emotion
From Day6 "To everyone who feels like each day is the same and that they’re living like a zombie, we wanted to send the message that they’re not alone in feeling this way,”
The timing of this release is really powerful, especially for me. I've been in a really bad slump for the past three years (College is rough man). It's probably depression, but it's undiagnosed because I don't care enough to confirm it. I have very little motivation to do anything, and often choose not to do things that are important to me and would make me happy, just because I'm too tired to or too scared to make any changes. Every day is boring, and every day I do things I don't find important, just to pass time. This year has been the worst of it. My classes have been harder than they've ever been. Last fall I maimed myself in a work accident and had to learn how to live differently with my injury. And this semester I almost failed half of my classes because I chose the wrong classes to take at the same time (and during this quarantine, which destroyed my motivation). The fact that Day6 dropped this song on THE DAY that my last assignment of this year is due, is so powerful for me. This is so meaningful. It's a very sobering song that reminds me of all that I've been through. But it also reminds me that even despite how I've felt, I've accomplished so much during this slump, and I have so much more to look forward to once I am better and no longer feel like a Zombie. I'm so happy Day6 released this today, even though I know the song represents their struggles rn and I know they're struggling with similar problems. It feels good to have people I look up to that I can also relate to like this, because I know I'm not struggling alone.
That's the thing about DAY6's music, it doesn't necessarily create an "escape" from reality, so to speak, but, instead, they offer comfort in facing it together, bravely. There's a fan project VCR prepared by MyDaysPH when DAY6 held a concert in the Philippines which perfectly captures how their music gives comfort in the sense that "Yes, we all go through our daily struggles, but, now, you're not lonely anymore." It's not forcing a solution on you but says, it's okay to feel what you're feeling right now. Acknowledgement and acceptance. Jae, too, was moved to tears after we watched it. ua-cam.com/video/IRo6QanBYeY/v-deo.html
Day 6 is unfortunately suffering w anxiety and have been put on hold till they feel better . It is a song that describes how they feel right now and are unable to move forward w their careers till they feel better.
Day6 said that they hoped this song and album would bring comfort to those struggling and that they wanted to make it relatable. I think they have succeeded. Day6 released the album and mv but will not be doing promotions, like music shows and performances. But please still continue to support them now more than ever, let's show them how proud we are of them.
This song hit me so hard. I can relate it to my teen years where everything was bad, and I can also relate it to right now and how i feel about everything going on in the world now. The power Day6 puts into their music. I'm so excited for Day6 week to continue and see you react to more of their stuff 💙🌴
This MV hit me like a ton of bricks it’s so relatable and we’ve all been numb like zombies I’m so excited to see what this week holds for your reactions! Also let’s hope that the boys recover well 💙
The second I heard/read the first lyric, I was instantly crying. I had hit a really bad low, where I hated my artwork and everything I did just felt like a copy and my days did feel like the droned on and that it was just the same cycle everyday. Before quarantine, I was avoiding my art and drawing altogether. I didn't understand why or how or when I ended up like that. and I know other people have gone through similar, but it helped hearing a song about the same pain and struggle. Someone had finally put what I couldn't put into words and so I cried today. I cried because they're probably feeling that pain too, when they wrote it/still feeling it. And I cried because I'm still feeling that pain, but I'm slowly working through it, now. I think it'll be a little easier, now that I have this song.
As someone who lived a long apathetic phase and had depression for some years, this song really hit me. The "When" was so... hurtful to me. Because that's how it goes: before you realize, you're already in that vicious circle and it's so hard to get out of it. This song has simply everything - from the melody till the lyric, the music video. Even the title of the album itself: DEMON - cause that's what it is. In the english version they actually do mention it: "Let the demon sing me a lullaby".
Ben you make me happy with all of your reviews of jyp artists. You always get the gist of the songs. I hope you're always safe and thank you for your kind words to day6. They, we, all need that.
for me i realize it a long time ago...but there is no way to escape it unless i quit my job right now...this song is some kind of comfort for me...finally i know there are a lot of people out there who actually going through the same or worse...this gives me strength....say thank you day6!!!!
I mean, not to say I like seeing you relate so much to such an amazing but hurtfully relatable song like zombie, but to see that you really can't pretend to not be affected by the intense lyrics just makes you a lot more... real and that's actually pretty nice
I really love your video reaction.. not just point out their music and vocal, but also the lyrics, feels, messages, and concept.. and yeah, this song is so relatable with our life and really hit me hard.. I love how you know every member well..
This song hits so hard because of the times recently, but also because of what we know they are dealing with. We understand them better through their music. We love you guys. We will promote for you guys. And I love this fandom, I have seen multiple people share their stories and support each other and others donate to mental health organizations in Day6's honour. You all are amazing.
When I first listened to this song today, I thought " Wow! This song is about me!". I never thought so many people would relate to this. That makes me kinda sad because it was one of the worst moments of my life, but now I realize that it's just a phase and it's normal to get trough it, right?
this song is so relatable and SO powerful, especially when you read everyone’s comments and stories about relating. it’s sad we feel that way but beautiful that we can come together and know we aren’t alone💙 (on a separate note, i love you saying “funsies”)
It's such a powerful song. I think we can all relate at one point or another to this song. You take the voices, the lyrics, the melody and the beautiful MV. I'm amazed each and every time by DAY6's capacity to touch us because what they talk about in theirs songs is so relatable. I'm a new subscriber and I really look forward to this DAY6's week :) .
This song is actually hit many peoples feeling...many of them can feel what they try to said...the lyrics when they said "I live counting the time til I close my eyes".... i actually feel that way too.. sometimes i feel that i dont even remember what happen yesterday and day6 really speak out my mind now.
i love your reactions and the way you talk about the videos that you see. your way to expres yourself is beautiful and clear, i also love the fact that you really apreciate everything that you watch and actually give your opinion and no just make faces or whatever. your videos are so entertaining and i love that every time i see a reaction i notice something in the song or the video that i didn't see before. you arereally great, take careof yourself.
"give me back my tears, they've run dry" is the most relatable line of the song for me. I've been depressed but I got out of it. Now I feel like I cryed all the tears that I had during my depressed days so I can't cry anymore. No matter how sad I am I can't cry.
You know what? This song came at a time the members were struggling with mental health issues. And this song was a way for them to put their feelings out there.
I feel you, Ben. I love this song too because I can relate to it. There is an English version of this song. Thanks for sharing your insights and your experience. It is greatly comforting. I wish you all the best! Stay safe and healthy!
The MV is a graphic description about what lyrics want to talk about, and all the feelings that they transmit in this song makes you can relate it. I really don't know why people keep sleeping in this band. All their songs are composed by them. All their songs are a masterpiece, hope keep enjoying like we do it.
came here because of Jae's tweet that it got me curious what's going on so I thought "okay, I'm just gonna have a sneak peek of this vid" but then I found myself watching all of your reaction because I'm amused that we both love Jae & got torn because Young K is also a bias wrecker. HAHAHAHA. I feel you bro! When I first heard their songs in their recent album, I feel like my hearts gonna rip. It's just so relatable. I really love Jae's voice. hahaha
thank you for sharing your story Ben. I'm glad you manage to lift yourself back up again💕 honestly, that's what I'm hoping the message is too since so many who listened to the song have shared their story. I hope they'll get comforted & realize that there's always light at the end of the tunnel:)
I remember when my son was in a deep depression & suicidal, & sometimes (rarely) able to express the depths of his anguish in words. This song & mv hits hard because they’ve really captured those emotions & thoughts so well. The line “tomorrow will be no different, I live counting the time til I close my eyes” sounds like words my son tried to express about those days. I’m actually really glad the writer(s) didn’t try to resolve things or end with a hopeful transition. Thankfully those times can come, but rarely as easily as we’d like or long for. A song describing a moment of breakthrough & emerging hope can also be amazing & powerful, but too many songs try to wrap it all up in a neat bow, & life is rarely that simple, beautiful as it can be. Amazing and thoughtful reaction video! I know you when I listened to the song it was like a wake up call for me to try to live my life more purposeful. I didn’t really realize how I keep doing the same things over and over again without really having a set goal in mind. It seemed like I knew it in the back of my head, but this music really shed a light on it. Many other people seem to be affected by it positively as well in the comments section. Glad that you’re doing more Day6 stuff as well and I will definitely watch!
They nailed it with these lyrics. It was raining really heavily earlier so I was standing at my front door listening to this and watching the rain lol. Really though, I haven't read all the lyrics yet but it sounds like they went full emo for this album and I'm into it.
I watched it for the first time last night and I was kind of down. But when I read the lyrics that went along with the MV, I felt better knowing that Day6 knew how I was feeling. It really hit me in the feels. This made me love Day6 more and they’ll always have my support. 💚
We all have our struggles and down time. And this Day6 song is so special even though it doesn't have flashy instrumentation and things the lyrics and melody is so relatable and is a clear representation of life. Zombie aside from making us sad it also serves as a song that we can grasp and lean on, and when we have the support we can someday in our own pace come back to our happy and healthy selves. ps. this is a great reaction Thank you very much. Stay safe during these times. 😊
wow bro really, i choked up listening to your words after the video. mainly cause thats what went thru my mind as i was listening to the song for the first time, how much i relate to the song rn and what i should to to get better. and ur right... its not easy at all. glad you found your way out of your shtty period btw!! love ur reactions a lot.
Wow... Song Definitely hit the Feels... Love the Day6 Gents... Hope they are resting well Currently... Looking forward to getting into this Album when I get a free moment... 💚💚💚💚💚💚

you always show the best reactions, looking always honest and really enjoying everything.. and day6 is my favorite band, u're literally making my quarantine so much better❤ thank you, stay healthy and remember we're always here to cheer you up if you need ^^
Screw my every video comment of requesting you to react to a particular group. This song deserves all the love in the world. I still havent heard the complete album. And sadly too broke to become a regular patreon to enjoy your reaction of it as well. But this song was amazing. I usually get excited and start freaking out when a good song comes. But this just made me sit quietly and imagine life. Amazing song. Amazing message. Amazing reaction as well :P

Zombie aside from making us sad it also serves as a song that we can grasp and lean on, and when we have the support we can someday in our own pace come back to our happy and healthy selves.
