Hi Aaron. Thank's for posting this! I was wondering. I am assuming the later of the two tunings are in G, not in A, and that you use the heavyer strings with the A as well. I thing I agree with you that the C tuning fits this instrument the best, but will for sure purchase a set of heavyer strings from you as well. To try it out at a letr stage! The G tuning sound a bit more muffled on my computer speakers.

I have a similar banjo I converted to a 5string from a banjo uke. I personally found the best tuning was open A using thicker guitar strings.
The warmth of that G sounded way better to me.
Are those nylon or metal strings?
