This was sent to me by Lotkey and I have to tell you it's terrific. It's so much better than a different one that I unboxed and played.
it's well built and it sounds so great even though the strings have to stretch.
They give you everything you need too including the strap and a tuner and extra strings. I tuned this to open c tuning because Open G would have caused strings to pop or they would be too low and unplayable. There are strings you can buy that you can tune this mini banjo to Open G.
I don't get commission or a stipend if you buy from the link below. I am simply providing it as a courtesy as they gave me the instrument to play

I hope you enjoy the video If you like my music and videos please like subscribe, share and comment. It is very much appreciated Also I have started to add music to my Spotify account so if you can please head over there and put me on some of your playlists. My 3 albums of NA flute music can be very relaxing!! but I have some new ambient tracks I'm uploading which include tongue drum , synths guitars and the like! Here is the link: open.spotify.c...
    Thank you and be safe,
    Maria

Wow! That is really cool. I love the shorter scale length and the fact that's it's traditional banjo tuning scheme. You could easily play clawhammer style on this little thing (provided you could play that style on a full-size banjo of course - I'm terrible at it). That open C tuning seems really useful. What a great little instrument!

@@MariaCalfaDePaulOpen C, that's a Fourth above the Traditional Open G. The German Waldzither is tuned like a 5 string Banjo w/ a capo on the 5th fret (or the Banjeaurine aka Mini Banjo) but the 5th string is 2 octaves lower than it normally would be.

Aw, what a cute little 5 string Banjo. It's a revival version of the Banjeaurine in which it's tuned a Perfect Fourth above a Traditional 5 string Banjo or like a Traditional 5 string Banjo w/ a capo on the 5th fret. A Traditional 5 string Banjo is tuned to a Open G Major Chord (G, D, G, B, D), the Mini 5 string Banjo (and Banjeaurine too) is a Perfect fourth above the Regular 5 string Banjo or like a a Regular 5 string Banjo w/ a capo on the 5th Fret so it's a C Major Chord (C, G, C, E, G). So to tune this little Banjo down to Open G Major like a Regular Banjo, you need Heavier gauge strings, they recommend that you use Gold Tone Baritone Banjo Strings (Model Number is BBS) which have all Wound strings & it softens the tone a little bit.

Thanks so much for watching. It’s the blue grass tuning that a full size banjo is tuned to but higher pitches. So all the tab for regular banjo will work it’s just going to sound higher
I don’t remember the string pitches for the open g. But if you Google blue grass banjo tuning you will find the exact pitches that you would tune the full size banjo to. But if you get the smaller size banjo like this then you need to raise all the pitches exactly the same stating with C instead of G. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
