I'll be installing overdrive in the front of my Sport kit soon, thanks for this explanation!
I'm only wait to see this nice truck against the superlite!!!
Trail and crawling of course!
And some speed run also!
Nice and informative vid, like always!!!
Thank you!
Joe , that is an awesome comparisons. That must've been alot of work.
Question...why not underdrive the rear? Easier to swap-out and steeper gearing cause less torque-twist...which is almost nonexistent in a TRX4 anyway.
I definitely like this rig much better than the Ultralight. Which one does better in comp?
The reason I went OD up front is the relatively slow motor for me, I didn't want to lose any overall speed, yeah lower gears would reduce TT but its not a big issue with this truck. Honestly I'm not sure which one would comp better, its very possible the Superlite could get a win depending on course. One day I'll try to set something up.
Yeah guy told me underdrive in rear work good. Let see. Working on trx sports
Thanks another great video and I love this truck! I'm deff getting a full trx4 with locking diffs and those grc chubs! Do you ever wish you had a lower cg with this setup? My friends are trying to talk me out of a trx4 saying I should go with lower cg setup...but I like this one LOL
I haven’t felt the need to change anything, it sticks very well on everything I’ve put it on.
@@ExocagedRC I don't think they'll admit it but I think they're jelly of the trx4 portals LOL
Dope video! great explanation... I have question this Pro-line Racing 1966 Ford Bronco Clear Body With Ridge-line Trail Cage will fit on the TRX4 Kit
If the kit has the difflock servos you will need to relocate them due to the interior of this body. I have a build series on this truck that shows what I had to do to make that work.
What's going on I love watching all your videos and I came across this video and I asked a few people some questions and nobody seems to have a answer or never thought about this. I have the new bronco and just picked up traxxas tracks. So my question is would putting overdrive in both diffs help with more speed with the tracks, would just doing overdrive in the front be better want to out a plow on the truck and I use I with tires alot so I was trying to see if having just the overdrive in the front for the tires would effect using tracks. Or do I try looking into changing the spur and Pinion gear for tracks. I don't even know if they make a sour gear for this truck pritty new to the whole rock crawling scene. And help would be appreciated.
I like that truck
Hi can u make a video of "Optimus 2" versus "super light"! Just to compare who is better?!
Thanks. Love your videos.
Pedro Silva yeah that’s going to happen at some point. The Superlite may hurt some feelings, it’s insanely good and can hold its own against anything.
Please tell us what over drive you are using? 12% 25% what gear sets are you using Part numbers? Thanks what do you like the best?
What servo are you running? You happy with the newest axe 2300? Looks smooth.
dennis1979gm it has a 3brc G13 servo and yes with the Firmware update the 2300kv has plenty of pep power and speed.
Thanks for sharing this video. It helps alot! 😁👍
How about a friend, congratulations again, sorry but I'm confused, with the 12-33 for the front you make the wheels turn more fronts? It's for the best??
Greetings friend.
the overdrive helps the front pull around in corners a bit better
Ok perfect friend, lately you're my savior, thank you. Best regards.
The Underdrive gears only has a greater wheel speed difference compared to Overdrive front only so the dig effect is even more pronounced. I reckon you tried UD/OD already and didnt like it? so I suppose you did this to gain some top end?
skirmich yep on all that. I did a video with grimlock with both OD and UD and I really didn’t like them both in the same truck at all. I still have the underdrive and those will be put up for who knows what.
Thanks for another great video; have you got a playlist of the Optimus build?
Also did you need to cut back the C rails[frame] to fit under the back of the body once the back bumper was removed?
thepaddychannel I may have a playlist for this truck. Also yes I had to cut the chassis in the rear.
@@ExocagedRC Thanks , have found the build videos - "TRX 4 comp" thanks once again
Bonjour, belle vidéo très bien expliquée , j en ai commandé pour mon trx4 !👍
J aimerai en monter sur mon rebelcon mais je n en trouve pas !
Savez-vous si ça existe et où on peut en acheter ?🙏
Hello, beautiful video very well explained, I have some
Ordered for my trx4!
I'd like to get on my rebel but I don't
Don't find it!
Do you know if it exists and where we can buy it?
And Sorry, I wrote the first comment in French.
Thank you! Been debating on doing this. I believe someone else said it too, but maybe do a video on only under driving the rear? Great stuff as usual!
I went for the OD front because I didn't want to lose any speed, od/ud will affect the overal speed of the truck by a little bit.
@@ExocagedRC Thanks! I was thinking only ud. Brushless setup, so speed isn't my goal. Lol. Just a different way to get the front to spin faster for inclines.
Whits' rcleftovers yep. I haven’t noticed any improvement in climbs with the OD. Just turning.

What do you think has the best performance the redcat gen 8 or the axial scx 10ii?
Hey Exo, when you put in overdrive gears on these RCs', are you not essentially dragging the back tires?
Nathan T. Yeah a little bit. If you go too much then the added drag just causes issues. So far this is pretty good. I did over and under on Grimlock 3 and took them out as it was too much.
It's a 12.5% difference with a front overdrive. So for every two rotations of the rear tires, the front travels 1/4 turn more. I haven't noticed it off road at all but on a high traction surface like carpet the front hops a bit. No biggie, just stay off high traction like carpet or pavement. Awesome mod, not doing both. Looking to add a rear locker to my sport kit.
@@s13kuminachu awesome. Thanks for the explanation
Derek Cote yep. The vast majority of my driving is dirt or dirty obstacles.
@@ExocagedRC gotcha, thanks for the explanation!
What body is that I'd like to get one for my scx10.2 thanks

What tires r u using in this video?
Tires are red(vex) or gold compound ?
jonatangl01 red
@@ExocagedRC thanks
This makes me think some diff lockers would be a better mod instead of the over/under drive.
Yooo, wat kind of body is that and wer do i get it from
