  • This is the quickview of the GRC G2 Wilderness alloy axles for TRX-4. These are complete housing replacements, and accept stock Traxxas internals. Very smooth.
    Fun fact: Daphne tested the G2 knuckles about 5 months ago-- the same knuckles that are now on the Tranquish. I didn't even remember that happening.

    Currently mounting 5.25 Tusk on the K10 HT. I'm going to run it in the dark tonight using head lamps before the rain starts. I could have a problem. lol

    I have the CNC version of those axles and I love how tight the gears are and how smooth the turning is. The more you use them the more you'll like them. Great show again and thank you.

      I was in southern Washington in 1998-99 and it rained everyday from October to April… 140 some days in a row. I was just out of high school working for an excavation contractor, hated my life but money was awesome.

      Desert foothills are tough to flood. All that water flows down through paved paradise and ends up in LA or SD and just wrecks the place. We got it pretty easy considering. Just the same, 7" of rain in 3 days is a lot for a place that gets ~15" a year.

    more total steering angle will be more useful over Ackerman angle on a crawler. that is heavy heavy for a single axle wow. look great and fun test

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Рік тому +1

      That's true, but this is like somewhere in between-- the outside tire is still hitting the travel stop, it just allows the inside tire to turn sharper. The TRX-4 axle is not renowned for having the best steering angle, and this actually felt pretty good. I'm only asking for dig because I'm asking for dig.

  • @brianmassey7563
    @brianmassey7563 Рік тому

    Is the steering angle the same as with just the GRC G2 knuckles? I would think it wouldn't be different..

    It looks like the inserts are over compressing with the added weight, more squish in the gates than i would like in my rig, maybe causing the extra front lift and early rollout in gates
    gr8 channel thanks for your hard work

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Рік тому +1

      This might be the first time Canyon Customs have ever been accused of overcompressing-- she's running softs in the front and mediums in the rear (aka double buns) which everyone else accuses of lacking compliance. Based on conditions, I don't know if I'd make any changes yet. I want to see her on dry rocks first.

    Kingpin panhard is still working on Yoda.
    I think making the panhard longer reduces axle swing. That's got to reduce bump steer some. When the panhard is short, having an equal length/parallel drag link seems more important.

    • @lastcreations8845
      @lastcreations8845 Рік тому +1

      longer panhard makes the arc that the axle travels in flatter. Close to parallel yes, length equal or longer panhard no issues. I run longer panhard

    So would a different gift cover work that would have better clearances or are those diff covers specific to those housings?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  10 місяців тому +1

      The covers are definitely axle-specific. The std. and OD gears fit fine, but the big UD gear definitely rubs. Not the first time I've experienced this with diff covers on Traxxas axles.

    I have a question! I have a fusion 2in1 1800 kv. In reverse it surges.
    But in forward, it works just fine. Any idea what I did wrong or what could be wrong?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Рік тому +1

      Blind guess: the motor has been calibrated "in reverse," so forward is now reverse and vice-versa. Try reversing motor rotation with the program card and recalibrating.
      That's my first though. My second is that something is either binding or slipping in reverse and is fine in forward. Daphne's motor was rubbing her front driveshaft in reverse, but was 100% fine going forward. So check the mechanicals, then try the program card. Sight unseen, I think I did okay on this one.

    • @clayloy7895
      @clayloy7895 Рік тому +1

      so it ended up being a abs feature on the remote. It was turned on and making it surge. thank you for your help.

    What’s the best way to build this truck from scratch, parts wise? This will be my first build

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  8 місяців тому +1

      You can get the chassis and axles from AliExpress. I would recommend Jenny's RC for the stock axles (still cheaper than buying the individual parts to donate to the GRC G2s,) gearbox, and shocks. Body is JConcepts, tires are RC4WD, most of the inner parts are STRC. You'll still need a bunch of odds and ends, but you'll be mostly there.
