It must be geode day! I'm wearing one I finished yesterday in browns and golds and reds, another dyer I follow just posted another geode. I love making them and seeing what comes out.
Love the colors! Definitely a southwest vibe. I am really enjoying the ice dyeing and the muck dyeing tutorials you are doing. I am only a month into dyeing (after months of research) and this is what I am doing, so it is really helpful!
Thank you so much! I really like the way this one turned out, and I'm so glad that you are finding the videos helpful. I hope you have fun on your tie dye adventure!
You're the one who inspired me to start doing tie-dye like this and different ways. I would never have seen such beautiful designs if it wasn't yours. Jesus loves you and he died for us and rose again. Believe he died and rose again for you and you will go to heaven. I tell you this because it is true! God bless you richly!
I don't know why I am always surprised, but every time I hear of letting something sit in the muck when dyeing I never fail to think that it will turn out just all brown or black by sitting in all that dye for that long. But then it gets pulled out, rinsed and washed and turns out looking just fine. So what exactly is the difference of a shirt dyed on a rack as opposed to sitting down in a tub?
I know - the first time I dyed a shirt in the muck I thought the same thing would happen. I think that a rack dyed shirt ends up looking a bit brighter and the colors are more distinct - not as muddled. I think muck dyed items do have a little darker hue to them. The colors are still vibrant, but just a little darker. It depends on the fold, but a lot of the time the side that was at the bottom of the muck container is darker than the top side too. It's not really noticeable on a fold like this geode since it's so 3 dimensional, but it is on a spiral or a flat fold.
Could you please tell me the best soda ash brand, powder dyes and sinew to purchase please and thank you. I’m in Canada, was thinking about ordering off of Amazon …just not totally sure what are the best brands. I’m definitely a newbie to tie dye, but would like to improve on my projects. Only have used tulip liquid dye thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I purchase Procion MX Fiber Reactive Dyes from Dharma Trading Company (in California), Prochemical and Dye (in Massachusetts) , Grateful Dyes (in Colorado), and Custom Colours (in North Carolina). The rest of the chemicals that I purchase (like soda ash and Textile Detergent) I get from Dharma Trading Company. These are all US based companies but I think that Dharma and Prochemical ship internationally, but I'm not sure about the other 2 companies, you would need to contact them to find out. I haven't ordered dyes from Amazon before, but I've seen Jacquard Procion MX dyes available - they seem to be very expensive though for the quantity that you get. I've also seen G & S in Ontario listed as an outlet for dyes in Canada - I have no information about their dyes though. Down below this video in the description is a list of a lot of the tie dye items that I use along with links to where I purchase them. I purchase my sinew from Amazon and I have a link to it.
It will usually give a little darker look to the item since it sits in all of the runoff. It's not a huge difference, but in this case it was easier because of the shape of the fold to dye it in the "muck" rather than dye it on a rack.
@@FunEndeavorsI see, thank you Angie, very much for relying. I appreciate that. As a matter of fact it was helpful that you were at the very end of your videos when you said I hope you have a good day that attracted more and more to your Channel. And the more I started watching them more like your designs I never actually tried most of them besides the incline ice dye. Which I plan on very soon. Thanks again Angie. Have a good day.
That looks fantastic! I believe that’s one of the best geode patterns and colors that I’ve seen from anybody else. I really appreciate your time and talent.

@@FunEndeavors … thank you so much for the quick response! Much appreciated….and your work is fabulous 👍
@@kimmer0015 Thank you! I hope you can find the supplies you need.
How is the "muck" changing the outcome of the shirt as compared to not using the "muck"? Please and thank you?
