It's pretty much the norm for Record Producer's to produce song demos and shop them around before they are picked for the final cut. The original song demo *If You Had My Love* that Rodney Jerkins produced shopped it to Michael Jackson but Michael told Rodney that it would fit a female vocalist. So Rodney gave the song to JLO. Can tell he's a full blown Pharrell/Neptunes fan.
Pharrell AND Timbaland were and still are my favorite producers of all time .... but he’s 100000000% right ...... “Timbaland did 4-Page Letter .... Timbaland did Aaliyah ..... what are we talking about?” ............ literally, end of story. Tim could have never done anything else.
Pharrell is very humble but that is universal truth right there and he meant that from his whole soul.
Fuuuuuck. It all make sense. Frontin was meant for Prince... The guitar type thing, the melody...Mindblown! 🤯
Pharrell first album was fire and the beats were crazy!!!
Pharrell Vs Kanye would be EPIC!! 👑🤴🏾👑
I was just blown away. Thank you Drink Champs, I'm still in shock picturing Biggie on T.O.N.Y. 😳🍻
Right?!?
He told pharelle "he sounded like micheal Jackson" 😂 😂 😂
Nore a wild boooy lol
My mouth was open for this entire clip like 😄
It's pretty much the norm for Record Producer's to produce song demos and shop them around before they are picked for the final cut. The original song demo *If You Had My Love* that Rodney Jerkins produced shopped it to Michael Jackson but Michael told Rodney that it would fit a female vocalist. So Rodney gave the song to JLO. The original demo had two backing vocalist that Rodney hired and kept it for the final cut and blended JLos vocals. JLO is only singing one harmony note in the Vocal stack during the choirs.
I agree with Pharrell about what Timberland did on that Jayz "Some Like It Hot" & Point Out The Bounce!
Now I can never unhear it.. just imagine 😁
Timberland and pharrell versus classic for culture like 2 short and e40
Somebody needs to do Frontin A.I. with Prince right now!!!
Makes sense mj wanted that them thug beats , listen to invincible
Michael Jackson was not a real artist like Prince who MAINLY stuck to his own style. Michael Jackson was about what's hot and selling. That was why he left Quincy for Teddy in the 90s. All Michael did was used other people's talent to enhance his brand.
@@chelsearogers1289 well he was smart. That's the reason prince fell out after the 80s. You need to evolve with everything..
Prince was stuck in his time..
@@chelsearogers1289 I think Michael was more of a “real artist” over prince because Michael’s voice can fit anything. like R&B, Pop, Disco, Gospel, Rap, Hip-Hop, Rock, Neo-Soul and a lot more. i couldn’t see prince being that diverse with his music because he only stuck to one sound for his entire career meanwhile michael explored different sounds like a true artist
@@chelsearogers1289 kinda like Drake has done to stay on top. No shade.
@@poojatyagi8072 Unlike Michael who ran to a brick wall after the History Tour,, Prince evolved and remained creative to the very end
At last someone mentions Nashiem Myricks!!! Coming from Pharrell too!!
Last night on justified is def a track intended for MJ..listen to it and comment
Could u imagine the albums that would've came if Prince and MJ took all these songs 😱
ONE THING ABOUT SKATEBOARD P IS THAT HE IS TRULY GENUINE 💯 HE JUST GAVE NORE ANOTHER MILLION DOLLAR IDEA FOR FREE ...... A BOOK CALLED MY TOP TEN PHONE CALLS 💯 GENIUS ....
I would've told Biggie to head to the nearest studio, drop the rhyme & hand it over. Then waited one year after everyone felt a little bit better & DROPPED that song.
Then put proceeds in a trust for his children & gave it to them once they turned 21.
Sometimes when ppl talk, you have to MOVE QUICKLY!!
Biggie was FIRE on all the remixes he did.
timberland and Pharrell are the scale of hip - hop period
2:55 I love how they randomly join in wit pharrell.
asks about his jewelry game, deflects to something else...Pharrel is a smart man
Prince was "frontin" lol. 🤷🏾♂️
😩🤣😂
😂🤣😃
Lol nice
Nore, please do "my top ten calls" book
Great interview! A lot of artist and labels pass up, nextup. They been turnt down too. It's what makes them amazing.
Chad Hugo was the real talent on The Neptunes, if we are being brutally honest.
They both equally had a hand in their success.
Pharrell is just the greatest. I feel like Prince didn’t want Frontin’ bc of how good Pharrell’s recordings must have been. I’m almost positive he listened, loved them, and thought “He needs to do this for himself”. As for Michael wanting Superthug right before Invincible, makes complete sense when he was coming out of songs like Dangerous/She Drives Me Wild and into others like Unbreakable.
Honestly, even though it would have been awesome to hear Prince and Michael Jackson on The Neptunes tracks, I can't imagine Rock Your Body without Justin Timberlake or Frontin without Pharrell's voice.
I wouldn't mind AI versions made to hear prince do frontin and Mike on those justin tracks
