This is a really good and harq question, but to me, BY FAR, its Kanye. Kanye has produced entire albums of legendary hits. Heartless, Two Words, Diamonds are Forever....just to name 4%. Pharell has some really good hits...but Kanye probably has x3 the volume of hits. Even as a beat producer, I will go so far as to say Kanye is as good as Timbalans and Dre. I used to consider Timbo the real king of beats...till one day it hit me. And I realized how unique and creative Kanyes beats are, and once again, the quantity. Very few artists can claim to have produced a string of 5, 6+ legendary albums... Kanye has.
Kayne is change the culture in sound. He went to sampling beats to adapting to the 808 sound. Listen to 808s and heart break album. It was ahead of it times because. For example lucid dreams song amd others is a prime example. Kayne involved every instrument and features to make the song complete. All the lights for example, he likes beethoven of hip hop. He use rhiana voice for the chorus, use alcycia keys for melody. Let kid cudi which is prodigy handle a chorus. Travis scott, uzi vert, juice wrld and new artist come from the tree making melody trap beats. I mean wasted song by juice wrld is a product of 808 and heart break. Kid cudi and travis, tyler creator is definitely the 3 is heavy influence on kayne. Listen to travis scott album last rodeo. Man i can go on and on. Kayne chane the genre of music productions with the sound.
True Pharrell is more versatile can do disco, pop, hip hop, funk, rock whatever you want he will compose it and make a hit easily. But Ye created way more new genres and he's been taking more risks. No one would be crazy and open minded enough to ever thought about doing Yeezus or Life of Pablo. He opened doors for new genres and still expanding. Kanye is definitely more influential, Pharrell would just do his thing and bang. But Kanye been breaking so many barriers so that his music could be accepted. Both are unique but Kanye's music just hit different.
Partner? Kanye has STOLEN from hundred of artists. Why would he partner when he can just take the credit lol. Kayne couldn’t make an album without a sample.
Pharrell is a musician. He can sit behind any keyboard & play you a melody. He understands music theory. Can Ye do that? Also, Pharrell’s beats are Pharrell’s beats. Kanye has used ghost-producers for his joints
I think Kanye has the edge here. Not because popularity but being honest with his music despite a targeting audience. Pharrel in terms of a broader audience. More musical than lyrical. For me its obvious that Kanye takes the win.
I love Ye. He's my absolute favorite. But Pharrell was the soundtrack for the whole of the 90's. He has Rap songs, Pop songs and Rock songs. He can do everything.
@Cweezy580 you do know he helped with SWVs "Right Here", wrote "Rump Shaker", and helped with everything Teddy Riley did in the 90s right? "Superthug" was 98, Kelis was 99, it's lighter than RZA or Dre maybe but he had impact...
The Absolute Disrespect to Chad Hugo is ridiculous…Pharrell didn’t create all those songs by himself, and when Pharrell did his solo album it was mostly Ok.

I love the fact that pusha was just sitting there in silence thinking about all the times he's witnessed both of them work
That khaii from Davido is A1😂😂😂
I don't see how Pharrell is even in the same league as Kanye, this man holds 20 grammys, Pharrell is very talented but Ye is an actual genius.
King Push still loading😂😂😂😂..he cant choose a side bt he can choose a side though
The Neptunes put Clipse on the map, Kanye helped get Pusha to a larger audience as a solo artist
Pharell beats are original. Sampling is one thing but original production puts you on another tier. His chord progressions and melodies are A1
True Pharrell is more versatile can do disco, pop, hip hop, funk, rock whatever you want he will compose it and make a hit easily.
Yeezus was hardly inspired by The money store, so not a new genre tbh
Yeezus is a classic @@thalest.7067
Most the pherrell votes felt they had to explain why it isn’t Kanye. That’s saying something. Kanye is the goat producer no challenge
Till Pharrell make a college dropout, late registration, graduation, mbdtf or a watch the throne then it’s Ye all day!!!
dont forget Yeezus
Producer wise, it's Pharrell. He can do/has done it all and it's not even close. Artist wise, Kanye...classic rap albums.
But he’s made stuff that sounds the same if not better tho…
Partner? Kanye has STOLEN from hundred of artists. Why would he partner when he can just take the credit lol. Kayne couldn’t make an album without a sample.
@@bornbredcltIn My Mind and The Clones are both classics and chart toppers so...
If you don’t say Kanye it literally has nothing to do with music, this impossible comparison. Kanye has a crazy catalog.
Pharrell is a musician. He can sit behind any keyboard & play you a melody. He understands music theory. Can Ye do that? Also, Pharrell’s beats are Pharrell’s beats. Kanye has used ghost-producers for his joints
Blah blah blah blah blah. Press play what's harder. Period
whaaaat???! 😂😂😂
ye!? melody? nah you bugging. pharrell will say he bruh. if we is going by this
Kanye has never used ghost producers lmao
You're confusing producing and beat making like most people do
@@KareemK-jl3sj ghost producer (co-producer) whatever...Kanye had some help. And his stuff still sounds weak

Really?
🧢🧢🧢🧢
The soundtrack for the whole 90s lol. I love Pharrell & Neptunes but no TF he wasn’t.
@Cweezy580 you do know he helped with SWVs "Right Here", wrote "Rump Shaker", and helped with everything Teddy Riley did in the 90s right? "Superthug" was 98, Kelis was 99, it's lighter than RZA or Dre maybe but he had impact...
And ye had his hands in everything after that. Lol.
Alica Keys choosing Ye tells you everything you need to know about that man’s greatness.
The Absolute Disrespect to Chad Hugo is ridiculous…Pharrell didn’t create all those songs by himself, and when Pharrell did his solo album it was mostly Ok.
This was my deciding factor! Chad was really that guy.
Besides The Neptunes he's made his own shit as a producer for 2 fucking decades so just say you don't know about his catalogue
@@jeyneo.8924I truly believe he wouldnt have become half the producer he is without first working with Chad. Kanye did everything on his own.
@@JeatBunkie I don't really think so, we talking about a man that became a fashion designer without even study fashion. He's a genius and Kanye another. I put them at the same level.
@@jeyneo.8924 Kanye become one of the most successful fashion designers of all time, definitely the most the successful to crossover from another industry. Pharrel did some cool stuff I guess but he doesn’t come close.
Pharell. This isn’t even a debate.
Kanye No Comparison
I disagree. Pharrell is up there with Preemo, Timbo, Rza and Pete Rock. Kanye is not.
@@willyschitumba5914you wildin brother 😂
Pharell no comparison.
To be fair, this one was very close, because I'm a fan of both and have both their music, either their own music or music they have produced. Pharrell is more prolific in terms of hits, but Kanye is to me is on a different level in my opinion.
Kanye West All Day Period!! That Dude just shifted the all culture!! YE👑🐐✊🏾
Kanye all day! He pushes the form in wild esoteric ways. I don't know another artist that is more fearless and daring like Kanye. He is bold and takes huge swings. Pharrell is great but Kanye occupies a special place all by himself.
Pharell and it’s not a debate.
Both are definitely goats but look at the body of work and Kanye wins tbh
It’s Pharell and it’s not close.
@@tony4534 p ain’t never made 808s & heartbreaks or graduation
This is tough but kanye is arguably the best sampler/producer of all time even tho he’s admitted drums were his achilles heel.
Even if you take away his co-production credits. i know some will attack me for that but just go look at his solo productions for common, the game, keysha cole, alicia keys, jayz, rick ross. There’s more but if you look those up it’s an easy toss up for Ye.
Wouldn’t get far - the game
Live fast die young - rick ross
the people - common
izzo, otis - Jayz
used to love u - john legend
dreams - the game
daytona album - pusha.
etc etc etc
as much as I love Pharell’s work, it’s not even close
Ya’ll Heard Masterpieces That Kanye Produced, C’mon man!
Kanye is a Dying Breed of producers.
Dying breed? none like him
Where is Pharell? I can't see Pharell doing anything. Kanye is all over. He's producing , singing, rapping, setting trends, doing fashion and always the talk of the planet not just town.
Ye is a whole package…Producer, artist, icon, fashion mogul and many more
Big Sean Picking Pharrell is Crazzy!!
The Pusha T interludes 😂😂😂
Thanks!
❤❤
Kanye is top 5 producers .. never heard someones top 5 have Pharrell
which is insanity
greatest debate ever. not even LBJ vs MJ not even Nas vs Jay Z not even Playstation vs Xbox comes close to this debate
They mad at Ye coz he's all over the neighborhood... People thinks Ye samplings are easier than non sampled songs... Actually it's more creative to sample than to make a beat from scratch... Only producers can understand that... Imagine creating Barry Bonds that sample gives you something better than a song you never knew
Factz
you get it. Also kanye is arguably the best sampler of all time. i know some will attack me for that but just go look at his solo productions for common, the game, keysha cole, alicia keys, jayz, rick ross. There’s more but if you look those up it’s an easy toss up for Ye.
The fact they tied speaks just how incredible both of them are
I'd say pharrell based off of the versatility. The dude has production credits with artists of so many genres.
Agree completely, people ovevrating kanye. Kanye has less hits and has produced some serious garbage last few years. Pharell like not just a hiphop porducer, he a multi genre legend.

Ask jayz last even though he not gonna be on drink champs ever but his opinion really matters

You’ve been trained to say that. Kkkanye has called himself a genius so much; it got everyone else believing it 🤭
@@jt2458hh it’s OK if you don’t like him for his political beliefs, but to deny him being a genius is flat out ridiculous. Remember, it was Jay Z and Benny Siegel who said he was a genius first.

It should be illegal to ask Pusha T this question
Kanye simply cos his works are mostly individually distinct without a noticeable signature. ...and they all turn out great.
You need a producer who's not only good with his craft but just makes life easy for you as an artist... So Kanye West for me sure. Pharrell is a more complete producer, and a people person but you can't argue with the fact that kanye has been a major source of inspiration for top artists like Travis scott, ASAP rocky...
For crying out loud, we're dying to listen to his album.
That snoop cop out is sublime 😂

He said Kanye or Pharrell as a producer or artist, so Ye wins, and if these 2 had a versus Ye would really show out.
I listen more Kanye than Pharrell but I’d go with Pharrell simply because of ability to produce not only rap but almost any type of music and make it a hit

Kanye made a huge impact musically the whole industry changed because of that

Ye has #1s for 3 generations 2000, 2010, 2020.

Pharell is the bigger one.
And i think Kevin Hart said it best. Ye not afraid to stand in the fire. A lot of people are though. Man's is courageous.

A lot of people forgot how hot was P in the 2000's. Plus he is more versatile, producing hits in any gender (rap, rnb, pop). Ye is no where near to that level!
