For those of you comparing Jack Reacher to Ethan Hunt or even Jason Bourne: Read the books (and short stories) and thank me later. Jack Reacher is like Sherlock Holmes mixed with Jason Bourne's hand-to-hand abilities and John Wick's shooting abilities. The hand-to-hand stuff is pretty clear in the movies, but in the books he's 6'5" and teeters between 230-250. As far as shooting ability, this is vaguely referenced in the first movie when he meets Robert Duvall's character - "I saw you compete in the Wimbledon Cup," - but his shooting prowess is demonstrated in greater detail in several other books.
Awesome film. I can see why it received a lot of negative reviews but again it's not the director's or the film fault! The story/source material is bland as is....Audiences seem to be forgetting that this is based on the book! The producers and directors have little or no control of altering the story. Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders and Danika Yarosh did a wonderful job portraying those characters
I liked the job the cast did too. The plot unfortunalyy is well, a little too bland for my taste (on that Angle Bourne tops Jack for sure). But still, Action movies are mostly about the action anyhow, right?. And Tom Cruise at his age doing most of these stunts is still amazing.

I think we all know the pain Mr. Wick would be feeling after the introductions.The Rock would be reduced to a pebble and Bane's mask would be need to be extracted from his colon. The only character I can think of that might ..............((might))....... have a chance against Jack would be Billy. Billy Jack. On a serious note. I was never a huge Tom Cruise fan but he is ageless and his acting skills are impeccable. He seems humble and I have grown to really respect the effort that he puts into his craft. He once said in a awards acceptance speech....."I hope that I have entertained you". Well Tom. You have. Keep up the great work Tom. Though you have made un told fortunes in Hollywood it is obvious that it was never for the money. Respect........

Same could be said for jack reacher.
Reboots give me hope that one day we will get a Jack Reacher movie with an actor worthy of olaying Reacher. Maybe in 10 or so years when one the Hemworths has a little more mileage.
I would love to see a movie wherein Jack Reacher, Jason Bourne, and John Wick team up and destroy the Avengers, the Justice League, the Illuminati, the Freemasons, all atheists, and every single scumbag corporator on the planet.

Great looking Movie! I can't wait. It's too bad they couldn't get Rosamund Pike back for this installment. Tom and her had excellent chemistry and screen presence in the first one, despite the fact that she's 5'8.5" in height.,Tom being 5'7" lol. She's a great actress overall IMO. Tom's dedication and perfectionism towards his movie roles are nothing short of amazing. I'm sure this will be as good or better than the first. For those that have read the book " Never Go Back" is there more action, violence and a bigger agenda/deeper plot and story line in this book? I appreciate any confirmation.Thanks very Much!

Have you read the books? Cruise does a good job but Reacher is actually written as a HUGE dude.
