Reacher would be caught because some young fools would video him getting out the car and then stand around him shouting and hyping when the cops turned up.
Why did the crowd protect him -- did he do something earlier in front of them or did they just assess that he was a good man without knowing what he did?
Cruise brings the kind of star power to the role that most movies need in order to make money. This is a concept that all those who constantly whine in the comments about his "size" just can't seem to grasp. And frankly he did an incredible job of it. Which is why the first Jack Reacher film alone made over 218M. And it's why the series was greenlit. You all should be thanking Tom, not bagging on him.
After Reacher tackles the other guy off the roof, the two girls up there are just sitting on the ledge laughing and watching the fight continue below them, instead of getting reachers gun and shooting the bad guy. Gotta love movie logic
Ah yes, because it's so easy for a regular person who's just been held hostage to pick up a gun and kill someone (hopefully they have also trained enough so their adrenaline doesn't mess up the shot). Seriously bro that isn't movie logic. That's just being human.
