19:28 The gameplay of you getting sneakily hit by the bloodflame slash while the caption talks about getting sneakily hit by the bloodflame slash is so funny 😅
I wasn't sure where Astel was going to land, but I think he's one of those bosses that's troublesome on a first playthrough, but a little easier than you remember on subsequent runs. I can only assume that's why he lands where he does.
That comment about being a sleep deprived dad hits. I’m watching this video after working a night shift hoping to unwind before the girls wake up. Thanks Billy!
My Putrid Tree Spirit comment made it in! (I was negative). I really appreciate your insights over all in the video, and can't wait for the next one! Keep up the good work!
7:11 thank you for mentioning the difference in scaling for the two apostles! I was also surprised with the difference of the Dominula and Divine Tower apostles in terms of damage and i'd also say that it deserves a ranking that's a few spots higher
It's why I suspect the Apostle got a lower ranking. Dominula variant is the more accessible and memorable of the two to most players, so the Caelid variant gets shafted. I think he should be a few spots higher myself
Draconic tree sentinel is so high because he very rarely lets you hit him without hitting you back and every single one of his attacks is a little aoe with large hitbox
I get the fire giant defences, but i do still find his second phase very annoying due to how much he move his hands around. That issue could have been minimised if the eye took massive damage, but for some reason, it just doesn't. Even crits barely affect its massive healthbar. Both of those issues combine ends up making the fire giant feels more tedious than satisfying to defeat.
RE. Morgott boss difficulty There's an argument that Volcano Manor should be done after Leyndell hence making Morgott more perfectly balanced. You cannot complete all assassination quests at Volcano Manor and defeat Rykard in one visit, as Juno is based at MotG. So my optimum route playing the game in a linear fashion is Altus > Mt Gelmir > Leyndell > Mountaintops > Volcano Manor. Which does make Morgott a bit tougher.
I love death rite birds. I can wear the tree sentinel armor and buff sacred order with that one sword that gives you double damage on undead with all forms of damage on top of buffing your holy damage. Then i cast Elden stars and use marikas hammer to banish the death bird as the Elden lord.
I don't get the hate for the Ulcerated/Putrid Tree Spirits, they're one of my top 15 favorite minor bosses. Their combat is so smooth and well paced, they're common enough to get used to but not so common as to get sick of them, their rewards are usually great, and their visual design is beautifully messy!
Because fuck him that's why (I was the negative comment in the vid). In all honesty, we all experience Elden Ring differently and your opinion on the boss fight is just as valid and correct as anyone else's! Maybe the way he was designed clicked for you, but it didn't for a lot of other people. I'm glad you enjoy the fight though!
I can comment about the Scarlet rot love! At least from my perspective of why I enjoy it. Scarlet rot makes you learn the boss fight/ enemy fight, properly. I think this is why people also don't like it, which is entirely valid. Every other enemy in the game you can brute force your way throguh it in some fashion. Trading hits, healing up from bad dodge timing, not needing to really understand the movement tells & windups to win. Scarlet rot changes that. You can't blindly brute through on your first playthrough & even on subsequent playthroughs you still have to play the fight with the correct openings to not be rotted. It forces you to play the game better for those fights, which I personally really enjoyed. Knowing a boss or enemy with rot is coming up & feeling strong about doing a perfect to near perfect fight feels good, but also knowing that many people don't want that to be the case is understandable
Valid reasonings. To be fair, when it comes to Scarlet Rot, it's actually not as hated by me as I play it up for videos. I just don't like when it's used in a bland or uninteresting way (Ekzykes). The fact I'm totally cool with Malenia Phase 2 Rot or O'Neil rot in Aeonia, shows it's got a ton of potential.
You can AI cycle Elemer's shield bash, making him a complete joke fight if you don't f up the dodge timing 😅 You can see a 4x chain in the footage even
Marget is tough for me. First blind playthrough I got him first try with ease. Ever SINGLE playthrough after I have genuinely had to git gud all over again. At least one death if I’m lucky.
@@Evanxch2 SOFTS isn't as bad, just tackle It slower, plus healings aint a problem there, and runbacks are shorter on average Demon's souls though, well, at least healing isn't a problem either but runbacks are whole marathons
I think I could justify him a few spots higher as well. But gimmick bosses, even Rykard, tend to have an easier perception about them even if it isn't the case.
My younger cousin proved that Margit is hard only if you don't have summons and Rogier. she washed that crusty old codger in 5 tries or so with Rogier, Jelly without even exploring half of Limgrave and not even touching the Weeping Peninsula.
Rogier definitely makes the fight easier, though I'd say that's the case for most Elden Ring bosses where summons are available, seeing as most bosses are woefully inept at knowing who to aggro ;w;
Unrelated note, but when can we get a nioh 2 boss ranking, despite what some people say is better than nioh 1 in every way, especially in the boss department, probably my favorite boss roaster of all time, magicat approved
When I have the time and motivation to try Nioh 2. I'd like to play a ton of Souls-likes this year to diversify my portfolio, but it'll likely take a while before I bite the bullet on Nioh 2. It will happen though ^^
I don't get the Margit hate really. I feel his moveset is soooooooo readable. He has many moves, but you can clearly know what he's doing evry time and act accordingly.
I think a lot of the complaints come from people starting with Elden Ring, who wouldn't instinctively be able to read a moveset. But I do agree with you
Yeah, you find his corpse chilling, and you get one last chat with him while he's mocking that the Erdtree is fully sealed off and we'll never become Elden Lord.
Guessing the top 10 in no order because I have nothing productive to do Godskin duo Maliketh Malenia Radagon + EB Mohg Valiant gargoyles Radahn Godfrey Placidusax And Crucible duo (I read your comment for that one )
this was the first video of the series i saw and was genuinely bamboozled that Glinstone dragons were considered the easiest boss in the game lol. I am the number 1 Rykard hater. It being a gimick boss or the best version of its gimmick is whatever. true or not, i dont care. but the actual fight i think is not fun at all. getting walled and stuck is not fun. I think his attacks are dumb and i think 2 of his attacks have very similar telegraphs but completely different attacks. Then in phase 2 it just falls completely apart, maybe it is because i am colourblind but when the red sky comes in it is impossible to see anything. I am fine with the skulls, but I literally 100% cannot see the boss during this phase, i only survived by pure rng and i died enough to try. It really sucks because every big boss needs a camera as good as his and not whatever the hell the Dark Rite Bird has going on, but they ruin it with the blinding colours. He looks weird as hell too, which is a good thing so it is sad that i can't enjoy the fight 1 bit at all. ( i think the death rite bird might be a worse boss though, because it has nothing going for it at all.)
Is one of the hardest minibossfight of the Game for sure, those are soo agresive, really hard to stager out of attacks and not much Window to punish, specially those shield ones, but the spear ones aren't a joke either, those horns attacks can melt you soo quickly And only if devonia was a bossfight... Well she ? Is a beast either way
I explained in Part 1 - We already have a dedicated community ranking for the DLC bosses that we did back in Summer. I didn't want to include them here since it's just too soon from that video. You can check it out here - ua-cam.com/video/vt7ve0RyFzs/v-deo.html
To each their own. I really enjoy the fight, but I can totally see why some would find it a bit of a time waste, since it's not as immediately intense like a proper 1v1 duel boss.
Praying there are no transition errors in this video! Hope you enjoyed, see you next week for Part 3 ^^
Yayyyy my Elemer comment made it in!!! I love that guy :3 keep up the good work Billy!
Elemer is just a goofy little edgelord and we love him

Slave Knight Gael at 14 is too low if you ask me

Not Fire Giant catching strays
This video gives me flashbacks to my first play through. Such a good time! Thanks for this.

Great list. I'm just surprised that Astel isn't higher, I had so much trouble with him for far too long.

Ouff, I can relate on the night shift comment. I may choose my own hours, but this video specifically had me editing until 5am to get it done.
As an English teacher, I got shivers when you demanded evidence and justification for someone's comment. Bravo good sir!!!
I love reading people's comments, but they can't just say Ekzykes has similarities to Malenia without stating those similarities 😥
Congrats on 30K! Keep growing!
Thanks for the kind words ^^

Margit really said "You can beat me, but only once."
My hardest was definitely rennala because of the run back😭😭😭😭 like by the time I reach the boss I’m already half health because of the bolder
Boy do I have stories to tell you about older souls games
If that bothered you God please don't play dark souls 1 and especially not 2 softs.
There is a short-cut through the left, you don’t even have to go through the boulder section
U can disable the boulder or open a door to completely avoid it

I fight him before leyndell btw

@@BillySYT Sadly true although the DLC bosses are a marked improvement on that front. Can't wait to see her go up against those.
Pretty wow :))
22:16 Not a Bhanu reference in an elden ring boss ranking 💀
Someone caught it, I'm so proud. If you're into the Survivor references, check out my 30k video last week, it's right up your alley.

Lmao I'm on the Lexi, Suzie, Jewels & Kori train. I just included the Joella bit because of Raven constantly repeating it during the Pit Stop lmao
