I really need to try them out one of these days. As massive as Elden Ring is, there isn’t enough time in a single playthrough to adequately appreciate half of the the things that an average build has available to them (except if you’re running a pure Arcane build lmao)
Kale gets bonus points for getting the ball rolling on Blaidd's questline. Sure, there are ways to skip around a bit, but being able to meet him early (and completely trivialize getting the Bloodhound fang at the very start) is still nice.
I feel like the coastal cave merchant could have gotten one rank higher just for the broadsword. It is the best non-somber straight sword in the game in terms of damage after all. Sure it doesn't have a thrust R2, or is as long as some of the others, but if it's damage you're after then this is the one you want.
It's actually nuts because there's literally no other weapon category where one weapon is the strongest with every infusion. Usually there's at least one Str and one Dex.

Plain smithing stones only allow for +3 weapons (I think they take 12 smithing stones to do that) You need smithing stone 2 to get above that. I don’t think anyone in Limgrave sells that particular one.
Okay, so I would definitly reconsider the merchants in Caelid if you'r doing a bow build. All three of them sell a different arrow limitlessly: Regular, fire, and poison. Super, handy, and will be returning to them many times in the future!
Kale deserves to be AT LEAST A Tier. He's near the beginning of the game and next to a Site of Grace so he's the most easily accessible merchant, very useful early game. Bows are severely underrated cause they're not weapons, they're TOOLS, you use them to peg annoying enemies from afar to weaken or outright kill them before they're at melee range, so him selling you arrows never goes obsolete. And most importantly, HE'S THE ONE WHO INTRODUCES YOU TO BLAIDD.
Arrows are goated for turning off those flame spitter elevators so that you don’t have to fuck around with sprinting to the safe space. It’d be nice if magic worked too but hey somethings gotta make the arrows more useful

No mention of the golden greatarrows sold by the isolated merchant inside the Leyndell outer wall?! Those are fantastic items for buffing your allies and self in co-op! They’re an infinite supply of mini golden vows that cost zero fp to use!
Everything Kale sells is incredibly useful if you don't avoid consumable, bows, and are playing blind. As the notes he has have pretty ok hints. Also he gifts us the ability to craft for the low price of 500 runes. He also introduces us to a wolf lad and gives us an emote. Easy S tier, he has done more for me than any real person.
The poison darts and rocks are actually great, means you can poison stuff without losing weapon damage, even if youve pumped nothing but int. Course mages wont need poison since they can just one shot the boss. The imprisoned merchant is also good since the pulley crossbow and burred bolts can pretty much solo the game for you(except the bosses immune to bleed)
The Braodsword at the Coastal Cave merchant is a top-tier weapon for the entire game for many builds. I 100% suggest picking it up for just in case you need something fast.

10:00 So, I'm not really sure when they took this out but at one point early in the game's lifetime, those notes had a bit of extra lore to them. The Flask of Wondrous Physick note, for example, was written by a high ranking member in the nomadic merchant club that had seen the flask at the Third Church of Marika but couldn't stop to grab it. Kind of a shame that they removed it in favor of "There is a Flask of Wondrous Physick at the Third Church of Marika." Or "You can bring flying foes low with gravity."
Bad take on the note; finding out game knowledge ingame in an immersive way will always be superior to alt tabbing to internet resources. Edit: cut content implies that the notes are taken on crows to pass information between merchants, so yeah it is absolutely an underground cabal
Kale has to be ranked higher than any merchant who's main draw is something you can craft or use to craft, because those merchants are worthless without kale giving the crafting kit
Objectively wrong of you to rate Kalé as C tier. He's S tier, because he sells you the crafting kit, a super essential item and also a standard torch for caves, telescope and a decent shield and chain armor if your current armor (or lack thereof) isn't suffice. Sorry rusty, messed this one up bigtime. Everyone and their mother will roast you if you talk down about their favorite weapon, but unfortunately for you I have FACTS AND LOGIC and am gods strongest incel fanboy The broadsword is in fact the ultimate straight sword, doing the highest AR on every single infusion except quality (which sucks on everything) and in fact beating out the AR of most unique straight swords as well when set to a comparable infusion. Basically the broadsword is a based as fuck stat-stick and you must repent for your sins
Mathematically the Broadsword is the best in its category. The fact you're so dismissive of it says everything about your game knowledge and ability to grade anything gameplay related.
I'm not sure why you're going off against Celestial Dew when the glitch where Blaidd gets aggroed arbitrarily on your first approach is still a thing XD
Any Merchant that sells bleed and poison arrows and bolts that you don't have to craft is okay because then you can double stack those for taking out the really annoying bosses.

This is your "fireball is the worst spell in DS3" all over again
I didn’t know I needed this but I guess I did because I liked it.
Ah, Kale...the only memorable Nomadic merchant because
1. He's the first merchant you find
2. He's named
3. HE'S DRESSED AS SANTA!
Seriously -- I actually yelled out "HOLY SHIT! Kids look its SANTA!" The first time I ever played Elden Ring and me and my kids have never lost our wonder for Kale.
I'm too cheap to craft/buy neutralizing boluses so I just equip a seal and cure poison since I'll have the faith requirement anyways
Merry Christmas, Rusty! Your dedication to quality over quantity is something I can only aspire to. Each video from you is entertaining and fun. Have a happy holidays and a great new year!
22:07 Basically all of the Merchants can use Frenzied Flame Incantations. You just killed all of the other ones too quickly to see them use them.
From what I've noticed, it's only the merchants that play music
Demi-humans buffing them with the vials is OP as shit. Bonus if you summon them at night. Massive staggers for dayyssss
Sorry rusty, messed this one up bigtime. Everyone and their mother will roast you if you talk down about their favorite weapon, but unfortunately for you I have FACTS AND LOGIC and am gods strongest incel fanboy
The broadsword is in fact the ultimate straight sword, doing the highest AR on every single infusion except quality (which sucks on everything) and in fact beating out the AR of most unique straight swords as well when set to a comparable infusion.
Basically the broadsword is a based as fuck stat-stick and you must repent for your sins
Mathematically the Broadsword is the best in its category. The fact you're so dismissive of it says everything about your game knowledge and ability to grade anything gameplay related.
I was thinking about if you did this yesterday while I was playing
I'm not sure why you're going off against Celestial Dew when the glitch where Blaidd gets aggroed arbitrarily on your first approach is still a thing XD
Merry Christmas
2:37 i’m sorry, how many runes is that? That has to be a bit, considering the level and stats. Ain’t no way you’re chilling with that many runes.
Weeping guy near the nights Calvary if best boi I love that guy he gives me dat iron armor and crimson charm
amazing what the wait for Silksong does to a person.
Too rude, angry and pretentious. Unsubbed after a year.
cant wait for the consumables ranking
I just took a shower ;-;
Wait, you plunge attack the flame chariots? I am learning something everything about this game!!!
When are we getting a “Top 10 Cliffs I fall off of All the Time” video? I mean, it can’t just be me who falls off of cliffs in ER, right?
Fuckin related to that " you know what? Fuck it km goin to play some Hades."
Bro your audio is mixed way too high this video i swear
Um.. The troll note - "Their heads bear old wounds", if you shoot them in the face they will stop and cover their faces :)
The topics of there lists are starting to drift towards "Crendor's pointless top tens" territory, and i'm here for it. Teleporter rankings when?
Hes going to run out of things to rank and just rank his own ranking videos
Bro please no... Stop... Please...
oh by the divines hes really out of ideas now
Does Kale have the same voice actor as Cypher from valorant? Really sounds like it 🤷♂️
Any Merchant that sells bleed and poison arrows and bolts that you don't have to craft is okay because then you can double stack those for taking out the really annoying bosses.
