It's really impossible for the average person to be focused 14.5 hrs per day. However, we can definitely rock the 50 hour challenge. That's pretty much 7 hours and 25 minutes. (15 sessions of pomodoros per day).
People also use the 50/10 technique (50 min work and 10 min break) useful.
So, that leads us to 8.9 50/10 sessions! :)

It's not just spending as much time as you can to study. Wasting 5 hours reading and highlighting books will get you nowhere, compared to 2 hours of active recall. Being busy does not mean being productive.

Thanks for watching everyone, I just want to emphasize that if you haven't had the time to educate yourself on the Black Lives Matter movement and the reason why the protests are going on, you should do that before watching the video. Growing up as an immigrant, I've experienced racism myself, but I never felt my safety was at risk. What I experienced growing up is nothing compared to the degree of inequalities felt by African Americans or Indigenous peoples.
Here's a great website that compiles all of the ally resources:

    MY STUDY SCHEDULE
as being in 3rd-year med school
and being an Asian here is my schedule from Monday to Friday
    wake at 5
5-6 make coffee, learn editing basics
6-7= mental exercise for 30 min plus pushups around 200 for 30 min
7-8= pushups for 10 min if delayed, Bath ( i am a morning person even do it in extreme cold) and plan the day
8-12 = watch 1 video lecture, I use an online platform so I already have its notes so I just edit the notes for extra points which are mentioned in the video (i study the subject which has higher yield for 4 hours in 4th hour I just revise for 30 min to 1 hour)
12-1 I do drawing (this is a home timetable in quarantine but in university, we are off by 12 so I mostly cut vegetables gather everything required for making food for the night just to save time and eat the leftovers which were made last night I also make quick coffee at this time to keep me active for other tasks)
1-2:15 guitar, revising( in university last year I do drawing because I love it I do it for 50 min and rest is guitar I usually don't take my clothes off so I just comb my hair and run for class at 2:30 as it takes very less time from cycle to reach there )
2:30-6 study second subject watch lecture or video( in-home I have lunch from 3-4)
6:15-8 - go to library learn 3rd major subject
8-9 go for gym and do lifting ( i already ride a cycle to my med school so no need for the treadmill and yes diet plays an imp factor so I don't have trouble with losing or gaining weight it just remains in normal range rn just increased due to increase in muscle mass)
9-10:30- food making and eating( and I chill too by seeing good doctor )
10:30-11:50= 1 hour 3rd major revise what I studied in whole day roughly and quickly and call it a day
I always carry almonds every time with me to not let me face hunger, sometimes I do take Redbull but it makes me more tired, to be honest, so I take sunflower seed every time and of course coffee with me and paracetamol tablets and omeprazole for stomach ache if it happens which is possible because I sleep like 5 hours and yup sometimes i can eat snacks with my friends which can cause the problem so I don't take a chance
for Saturday I just wake 1 hour late i wake at 6 and usually don't make food so from 9-10 I eat outside and 10-11:50 I only revise don't go forward, Sunday i take off for like 14 hours and review material 4 hours 1 hour for drawing
People would be thinking why i am paying so much time for my skills and where I am enjoying (during food I do watch web series so I am enjoying) because in 1st year and second year 1st sem i just used to study like 18 hours a day and honestly my body saturation point only marks at 12 hours after that information used to get blank even how much i did try to force myself i did use to retain but it usually gave me more anxiety and headaches a lot of them plus stomach aches and honestly I wasn't enjoying it so I decided to increase my skills and now I feel so good as i completely look different in my class and working 1 step ahead of them
4th and 5th year since i have to cover a lot of info and revise my previous year and I already would have learned the basics of all the skills I plan to do editing for 30 min which will give me 30 min extra time plus during the rotation clinical rotation i would get less time to study so i only study the 3rd miscellaneous previous year subject for 2 hours and increase the second major subject for 3-4 hours
particularly saying i would be studying 11 hours daily making it a yield of like 81 hours a week when I crack the licensing exam i won't be just a doctor but a person with a lot of skills which can help me in all manners maybe i can make a magazine which includes drawing of a heart and all since I am improving my drawings, editing for youtube which might grow and i get a secondary source of earning, guitar for participation in events held by the university or to make an impression on my friends. I know i won't be the best with such low hours of studying but i don't want to be the best I want to enjoy my life plus save other life if i do it proficiently my life would be completed

@@jacob7270 generally I find the pomodoro method of doing 25 mins of work and 5 mins of break time the best when it comes to doing alot of note taking or reading cause you're not as mentally exhausted but it's not so affective when your doing assignments like a lit review or slides etc. Cause like you said it does break your concentration sometimes, but in the end if you find something that works for you go for it 👍

A lot of people think that is hard to study so much, but the pressure is the best motivation. While I I was preparing myself for my preliminary examination in medicine in Germany, I had to study for three weeks 16 hours a day, before that 12-13 hours were normal, where eating for half an hours and sleeping in the night were the rest. Falling asleep was really hard, because I could not stop think about the things I have read before, my appetite was really low and I have lost 3 kilos. Was it worth it? Absolutely, but was it healthy? Absolutely fkin not!

That was flawlessly edited Jimmy!! You really addressed all the questions that popped up in my head while watching this like your energy levels, exercising, free time, etc. I really enjoy your videos as a premedical student!
-Studying so many hours a day as you said, this is not something that can be long term but i am curious to know if you noticed a decrease in your PRODUCTIVITY and CONCENTRATION as the week went by. Obviously this week must've been extremely productive for you but was each HOUR as productive as it would've been had you been studying say 70 hours a week.

    Last week I spent 60h studying ~
I’ve been neglecting my life and sacrificing it for study last month. Now i am trying to prioritize my health. I wake up around 9am then do some sports. It depends on different factors but usually I go for a run or something harder like Tabata or resistance training. Other days I take it easy and do yoga, pilates or something similar. Also, I am trying to meditate to calm myself down.
Things to add, I cook for myself so it takes time to do it and also to do grocery.
From 11/12 to 8p.m. I am studying in 1,5-2h fractions and no more than 5min breaks between - just to refill my water and grab some snacks like cucumbers, carrots or grapes. At 8p.m. I usually take a bigger break to go for a walk to the supermarket (it takes 30min each way). About 10p.m. after having dinner I continue studying till midnight. After that I am going to sleep. If in the evening I fill extra tired the next day I am taking a day off - more easy jogging in the park, reading entertaining books and watching movies.
Also, sometimes I have a 15min break at around 4p.m. to do some neck-shoulders-back exercises to make sure everything is ok with it.
The last thing to add, I have some sleeping problems like insomnia when I can’t fall asleep which is quite sad. If it’s happening I usually do some meditation and breathing exercises. If it doesn’t work I’m back for studying.
So, I am trying not to push myself hard as It leads to worse sleep.
And yeap, I am preparing for my exams~

The level of satisfaction at the end of the week. Dude I can feel it just by watching this video. Imma take this challenge. I'll be back in 8 days to update this comment. 🔥
Edit: It's way harder than it seems. Well it's a great task in itself to record your study time. Then there is studying itself. From what I measured I got 43 hours 13 minutes and 27 seconds on my study timer. But it is better than my usual 17-18 hours a week. This video might have changed my life for the better. I'll keep updating if someone else asks me about it the following week. That's all. Thanks to the OG for making such a great video.
