Can’t man, i always came back here for motivation. I don’t study medicine but your work ethic makes me really love this channel. Keep going and best wishes to you!
Everything about this video is just honest and genuine ! Throwing the truth right in front of us. I never watched a better video about procrastination. The fact that we all know the answer but we need to realize it and face it just blew my mind. The boiling water analogy was on point. I will use it to remind myself when I slip up. I was watching UA-cam purposelessly but now I decided that this gonna be the last video for today. Thank you Doctor !
Wow. I'm a first year medical student in Nigeria. I also want to specialize in cardiology, dude, you don't know how this video has helped me break off a procrastination of 4 months. I'm really grateful I stumbled on this video. I pray we cross paths someday.
The active recall video was probably the best thing I saw. I’m a rising senior and it’s great to have found this method as soon as I have, as it’s going to be useful in college
The part where you mentioned that your inner procrastinator is your alter ego definitely resonated with me. For me, a lot of times when I catch myself procrastinating, I constantly think “why am I doing XYZ, when I can be working on my goals” and I believe that also comes with the guilt
I really admire you and your videos. Especially the 100hr study week. I'm currently studying for my physician licensure exam now. I really have to control my procrastination. I hope I can apply what I learned from you. 😊
Wow I did not think about "alter ego". This concept was a light bulb moment. We are of many egos, and we switch context many times throughout the day - and we hear the voices of the other ego, and we have the ability to summon the other ego and therefore switch context. Thank you for this, I needed someone to shine light on it. Helped me so much more than other "bandage tricks" for sure.
Hey Jimmy, I recently stumbled on your channel by chance these couple of weeks and I think your content is amazing. I am an aspiring law student and watching your work - ethic, passion, and dedication towards everything you do inspires me a lot. I believe mindset is one of the most important aspects to focus on and you truly helped shaped my perspective on continuing in my endeavors. These past couple of weeks have been filled with long hours of hard - work, but when I watch your videos it really motivates me to keep striving to become the individual I want to be. Thank you for your honest & sincere content and I hope your channel continues to grow & inspire others.
I want to be a lawyer and a businesswoman. Thank you for posting these videos. They have really been helping me to be productive, especially during COVID
As being a top notch procrastinator - I'd win every prize if there was a contest for this - I totally agree with your diagnosis, esp. the second one about your arrogance. Now, I'm get back to work, thanks to you.
Thank you for this video. I liked how this focuses on real life scenarios instead of just tips. Looking forward to do well in this semester. Studying Aerospace engineering 2nd Year.
It took years for me to realize and learn to study and I'm still learning . I slowly got better and better now I have a proper technique more time than I can ask for and all the resources and advantages anyone could wish for and it's nice:) this is my last year of high school and my last obstacle is avoiding being lazy and doing hard work and get the best Marks I can get
so helpful you need to have some skillshare classes from your med school experience and study discipline congrats on all you surpassed and good luck for specializations.
I cant find one vídeo that you uploaded time ago about motivation and why you decided to study medicine. It was a great video. I would like to see it again.
Damn the last tipping point, I felt that. Since the 1st Nov. 20 we are back to 2nd lockdown in Germany. Being an engineer undergrad student, I miss those days when we solved those difficult questions together. Now we have to do everything alone at home. It's really depressing. Your videos help me to get through this hard time though. Thanks doc.
Was really helpful thank you Jimmy. taking my financial adviser exams and working a full-time job has been quite difficult for me especially with procrastination but stumbling onto your productivity and study with me videos have been a great help.
Very practical advice, thank you. Can you also make a video about keeping your energy levels up- diet plan, exercise, sleep and how to maximize the results so you're studying and motivation are peek
I also miss studying with friends. What my study group does now is we have a zoom meeting every sunday where we can study and chat a little (most of the time we're all on mute). It definitely gives the same pressure to get work done as it did back when it was face to face :)
I think it is really important to highlight that there are no "quick fixes" for this problem, no "small tip" that will save you. It does take some effort to overcome procrastination. Here are my notes: ## This video is about retrospection - No quick tip will save you... - We all went from procrastinating to studying before - ⇒ We already know how to do it but we need to realize that ## What are the tipping points? Think about the moments in which you actually stop procrastinating and start studying: - When the guild becomes unbearable - But when you stop procrastinating only then, you will still feel bad - When fear becomes stronger than the desire to waste time ## It's going to be a war everyday - There are two voices: "Hey, study!" and "Let's scroll through instagram!" - We need to separate these voices and notice that they are not "you" - Go into war with the procrastinator-voice - Question the excuses you make ## Have a great reason to study - A big end-goal can motivate you to work - Making studying more enjoyable can be a motivator aswell - Study with friends for example
Your channel is so honest and helpful, you're the coach I always needed, thank you! I am pursuing an academic path that seems impossible right now, but your channel has such practical advice in how to tackle BIG things and not freak out. Thank you for being so calm and real!
Very different yet relatable point of view..this will help me a lot..thank you for making videos like this which are realistic and not too complicated..also I appreciate How u directly approach the topic instead of beating around the bush
Thank you so much you are a great mentor you are helping me I’m going to take your advice right now I need to focus on my goals study one thing at a time.
If you’re procrastinating by watching this video, make this the last video you watch 👍🏼💪🏻

Wow - I thought it was just me; this really helped me get off my on case & get to work.
I saved this to my Watch Later playlist.
This video really saved me today.
I think it is really important to highlight that there are no "quick fixes" for this problem, no "small tip" that will save you. It does take some effort to overcome procrastination.
Here are my notes:
## This video is about retrospection
- No quick tip will save you...
- We all went from procrastinating to studying before
- ⇒ We already know how to do it but we need to realize that
## What are the tipping points?
Think about the moments in which you actually stop procrastinating and start studying:
- When the guild becomes unbearable
- But when you stop procrastinating only then, you will still feel bad
- When fear becomes stronger than the desire to waste time
## It's going to be a war everyday
- There are two voices: "Hey, study!" and "Let's scroll through instagram!"
- We need to separate these voices and notice that they are not "you"
- Go into war with the procrastinator-voice
- Question the excuses you make
## Have a great reason to study
- A big end-goal can motivate you to work
- Making studying more enjoyable can be a motivator aswell
- Study with friends for example
The watching daily dose of internet while procrastinating really hits hard
