Swee, I've been waiting for these.
I skipped this on Black Friday and picked up Spidicules , here is hoping the review is bad, and I made the right choice.
Love the videos! Would be great to have a series featuring all the different philosophies from GCE, and some cool ways to build them, combos and such. I keep hearing lanternism is broken but have no idea how to get it there
Once the GCE content is on the KDM simulator I'll look at it in video form. I am exploring the philosophies in written form on my patreon right now though.

My friend got the White Gigalion expansion when it came out and we were both very rusty at the time. We set up and got a dead survivor right away. I think it was the least fun either of us ever had with Kingdom Death. I'm not really sure he and I have played the game together since that bad experience.
Yeah that sounds like a very unengaging first experience. It's not that bad all the time.
I feel like the Oxidized Katars are an example of Team Death growing in their understanding of game design. Katars are such a cool weapon but so often the point of them is lost, meaning why pair them? Especially the Dragon King katars. There are so many weapon types that are just non-options, which is a game design pet peeve of mine.
That's very much the situation for a lot of the "1st Generation" releases. I am hopeful Campaigns of Death will address this now that the team has a better understanding of how Paired is operated and valued outside of their internal testing environments (same with so many weapons not having enough Strength, we've seen a better strength balance design in the GCE).
They were not board game designers when they started, they had parallel skills, but were still effectively amateurs. We're a more than a decade on from that space now and they've grown a lot in knowledge.
Been a while since i used my gigalion but I recall some inconsistencies between armor bonuses /survival / stats... Do you recall if you get the arrival bonuses and or stats from gears on top of what the survivor cards say or are you meant to just take the numbers in the survivor cards and start the showdown like that?

How Legendary Lungs works with deathking gauntlet? Like if i have 2 speed weapon, i roll and hit with both. Do i then must roll additional 2 and only then may roll additional 1 for gauntlet? Or can i use gauntlet too so if i get a hit on gauntlet roll i can roll additional 1 for legendary lungs and get 6 hits in total?
Actually i thought about it and it could work both way and you can choose it. Since attack flow has 2 steps before drawing hit location. 1 - make attack roll 2 - determine hits. If you activate gauntlet on 1 step then you can have up to 3 successful hits and on the next step you could double them with lungs up to 6. Or you can use it after 2 step, where you can get max of 4 hits and you add 1 to make it 5.
Afraid I can't answer that, I'm taking my time with the GCE and have not pushed past the Core Nemesis showdown yet. I want to experience that first time with my partner, so we're on their schedule.

Yes. There are no rules that prevent this, Zanbato + Leather shield for example has been used since the game first released.
