Excellent review/interview, and a tasteful "restomod." More, please!
1962 I'm 16 and live in North London. My 3 friends all have scooters, two Lambretta LI 150's and one green Vespa GS 150. I asked my Dad nicely If he would lend me the money to buy a scooter and I would pay him back every week out of my wages as a Plumber's Mate. He said he would so off we went to Stockwell, SE London, where in those days Stockwell Road was full of car showrooms and motorbike shops. We found a small shop selling motorbikes and scooters, and I chose a Silver Vespa GS 150 and my Dad did all the paperwork, including the Insurance, paid the man £109.00 :-) and I then I drove it all the way back to North London. My Dad, bless him, let me pay him back at £2.00 per week, and after 6 months he said, that's it, you don't need to pay me anymore. I had that scooter for about 18 months until I moved on and got myself an Austin A40 Farina car. I sold the scooter for £50 to another mate of mine But those days with my mates going here, there, and everywhere are firmly etched into my mind, and will never be erased, great memories. I'm 74 now, but can still remember the Licence Plate number 733 ALT
Beautiful creation from heaven. most beautiful line of all time. Fascinating sounds that were loved by anyone who heard them .. Before starting open the door- below the gasoline tap - and drive forced with full open damper - gas draft and gasifier suck in maximum with air.
Listening to the hypnotic sound that arises throughout the space under the sadle / fuel tank is like a resonance box. Listen to the amazing sound !!!!! Let's hear it. ???? ..... !!!!!!!
Amazing
I prefer a motorcycle but I will admit there's a certain appeal to the scooters.
A really nice GS 150 with a few modern parts, nice done! Also a nice workshop. Thumbs up.
I also started with Vespas again. Man you got great style shoes jacket and a GS 150 with minor tweeks to make it more fun
to ride great ! big inspiration
the soul of an original gs150 is the note of the 'original' piston ported motor and 'unmolested' superior clean lines.
My brother (14) and I (12) 1963 needed transportation bad. He got one that was rotting away on the side of the house. We tuned it, got a new battery and tires left the rest alone for 3 years We made quite a few long distance trips through Texas. It was the awesomest machine we ever owned.
Avevo anchio il GS mi son propio divertito e era di mio padre poi a trovato l'appetitoso e me la venduto 😅
Very cool guy.
Great report!! With a great friend! Congratulations Paul.
Just lovely to watch both Video and the Beauty! Congratulations.

Where I can buy one
Awesome vespa
I really enjoyed that interview. All the best mate. KTF
Dear Paul, what a beautyful Vespa you have there. As I understood from the video, you changed it to electronic ignition right? My 1961 is still with the 6 Volts system but whenever I want to drive it, it starts immediately afer being kept over night, but then I am not lucky to restart it when the engine is warm it seems. I am not sure if it is the ratio of the petrol or the ignition. what ratio do I have to put best?
Please! The GS needs an exorcist...it has a ant. disk brake!.....Hi from Veneto!
vespa is a beautiful scooter. I use to have 3.
Wonderfull scooter. Great work. And also a nice video. When you are closing your eyes and dream of a nice scooter it looks like this.
Sorry not a GS150 if you change motor and add disk brake. A look alike only.
Mark Posselt notatruegs150
Mark Posselt replica
yes its a replica
Gs 150 is not a scooter..... is not a Vespa...... is the queen of old scooters
Hi paul ,What do you use with the carburator ? I think that is fun ride
Brilliant Paul, love your style 👏 🛵
please hire me i would love to work with you i would love to learn this
Beutiful
What motor are you running
GREAT SCOOTER PAUL HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM GREECE!
I would like to ask how do you make the disk brake instalation with no oil case visible in the lever brake? I would like to do this in my vespa.
Have a cable on the lever as normal and have the master cylinder hidden in the toolbox
What is this colour?
I’ve a GS 150 that needs a refurb do you do refurbs for others?
Yes he does. A great mechanic and painter. Friend of mine.
hi auto....is the V GS original machine? look like not original machine.....
+Donatus Andy HI, Paul has modified a few parts but is an original machine.
Tha GS tho....frikkin beautiful Sir!!!
I had a GS150 in 1960 put all the lights on it ,copper exhaust ,white walls .I was king of the area on that beauty .BUT the bloody rectifiers kept blowing .After my 3rd one went ,I got rid of it, and got a TV 175 lambretta. Not so much street cred , but as a 18 year old in 1960 I could not afford to keep paying out for rectifiers.lol
is this the same scooter the ace face has in quodrophenia?
nice vid btw.
nope, that was a Rally 200 with a wrong mudguard and GS bubbles.
For some it may be a hobby but others it’s our life just saying
How is it your life?
Great job...
I had a 2010 Vespa 300 gt ,I loved it, planning to get another one.
Do people in England ride real motorcycles? I know about 90% of bikers in the US would not be caught dead on one of those. I took my sisters scooter out in the dead of night, it just did not have the same appeal at all. I think most bikers would agree. I just believe you need to try something before you put it down. I tried a scooter, unless your a young girl going to college, why?
No, the largest engines we're allowed are 125cc, so everyone that wants a bike has to ride a scooter.
God bless America.
Ignorance is bliss
+Trevor Peterson alot of people have bigger bikes aswell, anyway most people have scooters as they look better and are a symbol of fashion rather than of efficiency and speed
If you have to ask, you'll never know.
