Chat Reporting is one thing, the fact that you can potentially get banned for leaving the game too early is absolutely ridiculous since there's no real way of knowing if they left in purpose or if it was bad internet connections, not to mention how unnecessary it is since servers can ban you for combat logging and leaving mid-game and some servers like Hypixel even let you rejoin.
Well you can't actually report people for that, it's just on the appeals website because Mojang copy-pasted an "offences" list from a random multiplayer game.
These never crosses devs mind with the report system when people “leave the match early”. Power outages, has to leave early because parents says so, and internet randomly shits on itself for no apparent reason. But somehow this our fault and we get punished for it.
It’s no different from destiny 2. I legit got banned for “leaving a match” and their is no was to appeal it even through my internet shit it’s self. They don’t care about the players.

Your point about parents... God it hurts me how young the Minecraft crowd is. Legitimate reason for this rule is usually because, in competitive games, being down a teammate is a death sentence. It is unfair on your team if you leave. And yes it is your fault if you can't sit out a match. Yes life gets in the way, but you starting a match is you making an agreement with your team that you will see it through. None of this applies to mine craft though as it is a sand box survival game...
Something I find hilarious about the mojang message at 6:48 is that they say: 'we want to hear what you have to say' No. No you do not. Not even slightly actually. The entire Minecraft community is up in arms about this change and you not only don't listen, you actively push against the community, doubling down on it. If mojang had any respect for the people who bought their game they wouldn't be implementing this in the first place. The whole point of this moderation is because they believe we are mentally incapable of moderating ourselves and having free will and desires. I love how as soon as Mojang said they were going to add a reporting system I knew there would be some really easy exploits, I've had a crude plan on trying to ban the Minecraft dev team (or at least as many as possible) just to see what happens. Sounds like I can now also clog the reporting system with a few alt accounts and a plugin. Neat!

Being banned for "False information" seems the most dangerous to me. It means you might get banned for an idea that doesn't align perfectly with Mojang or Microsoft's ideologies. To not get too controversial, they could ban me for saying "Notch made Minecraft" because they've tried to scrub his involvement from the game

The thing is that any person on the staff should be able to see exactly how this would affect their reputation, and if you watch the most recent "secrets of Minecraft" video you would see that there are. I don't think Mojang is as united on this as they try to pretend to be, the video was very clearly a warning by the devs that don't think this was a good idea.

Minetest has a really cool modding system where your client automatically downloads and runs mods from a server, it has an incredible world height (2^16 blocks, iirc), and I kinda like its Beta-like aesthetic. Its physics do suck a little, but other than that it’s great fun!
The fact they _fought against mods_ that disable reporting is all you need to know. Stick a fork in Minecraft, it's done. I uninstalled. I'm not coming back even if they ditch the entire idea, because all they're going to try to do later is _sneak it in when no one's looking._ Screw 'em.
Ever since the report system launched i've been so scared to join public servers like hypixel, there is too many people who now have power to get rid of you permanently and it is just such a severe punishment, that its just not worth it to play on public servers anymore
I honestly feel that, I haven’t played Hypixel in a long time partly because I’m too scared to play with 1.19.1, and I don’t know if playing older versions would help any against the chat reporting stuff.
Play minecraft 1.19 and down and you can't get reported not to mention hypixel being made on 1.8 so its irrelevant any way and the same applys for every other server. You only can get banned on small servers
a friend of mine was denied a spot as a staff member on a featured bedrock edition server because of something bad written on a sign in a realm they were present in. apparently, mojang sent the featured server the chat logs and sign logs to look through as part of a background check. the crazy part is, my friend didn’t place those signs! someone else on the realm did. this is bedrock edition, and nothing like this would ever happen on java as there are no featured servers, but it’s still interesting that they have THAT level of access to private realms and are free to share that info.
There is, you haven't played Minecraft multiplayer for awhile I'm guessing. There used to not be a pop up in the game but they added it in later on. There's really no point for this stupid ban system

Well according to Doc, they didn't do this because of a few people complaining or because of Microsoft. This is being pushed for by some people who have been known as toxic and entitled for some time by the community who managed to gain positions at Mojang. They could justify this if mojang were hosting all of the game servers themselves like with valorant. But they don't host anything so every single Minecraft server is effectively private. They even say when you join multiplayer that everything is 3rd party. They don't own or have any right to implement rules for other people's hardware. If you've ever hosted a server before you'll know that servers don't even run any 1st party software owned by mojang nor do you need an account to make a server
They run the Minecraft Server JAR, but... well... it's still running on your hardware, and it still doesn't exclude the fact that none of this was the terms under which the Minecraft accounts were bought.

@@t20kdc I mean, some servers don't run the minecraft jar (I don't mean bukkit, spigot, paper, etc... because its based of the vanilla jar) you can legally create your own minecraft jar that has no nms (net.minecraft.server which just means the server code that minecraft has somewhat released) it is really bare bones, and wouldn't work for survival because of the lack of features but if you want to create a server indepentent of minecraft, there you have the solution
We have to accept there is NO good to this report system, specially in java where you have thousands of plugins / mods which allow moderation and even prevent people from sending "bad words" in chat.
Imagine paying a game 27 bucks as a newbie in the community and getting banned beceause someone is toxic and use a ban exploit . Would really ruin a generation's fun
What's annoying for me is that they can integrate this so easily without angering people just by making each of the rules toggle able, even then this rule just sucks so much, Minecraft will kill its own game if it doesn't listen to the community, we can't let this game die like this we need to fight back.

If they are successful and completely prevent servers from escaping their moderation, I think many will just resot to bypassing account authentication entirely, and switch to cracked, and allow anyone to access without an official accounts. Which I hope they do, so much that ppl stop buying the game. If they can't be trusted, not even to acknowledge their communitys feedback. I hope it costs them millions
They actually can't prevent servers from escaping moderation, worse comes the worse, an alternative chat system mod is developed and servers and clients install the mod on both sides and mojang can go to hell, the game is practically source available at this point, they can't prevent it.
I'm playing a minetest server and it's lit Open source game, it runs very well on a $15 a month vps and we weren't lagging at all until the admin added a few too many unoptimized mods LOL when you connect to a minetest server, it automatically loads all the mods for you and you never have to deal with forge we have an in game skin selector, vertical slabs, trains, extra ores, and a plant expansion mod that has palm trees it was a little weird at first but I got 100% used to it I'm looking forward to the shaders that are going to come out for minetest soon
To be honest, I never ever payed for minecraft at all, I always pirated it onto my devices and enjoyed playing it that way, and it will remain that way forever after this.
Microsoft likes to assume that people will always like playing minecraft, so they just disregard 96% of its players and add random updates for no reason whilst trying to squeeze as much money from the player as possible.

I like how they’re asking us to give feedback or concerns for some of the new features while simultaneously deleting messages from people on their UA-cam streams asking about the chat reporting, my respect for Mojang has gone down to the same level as companies like Respawn (I like their games but hate some of their recent decisions surrounding those games).

I think i know how to remove the report system but it will require that every single member of the minecraft community collaborates, we pretty much just need to spam "WE HATE THE REPORT SYSTEM" in the chat during this year's minecon until mojang decides to remove it
They can ban everyone. Though it is more then what most people are doing, if someone could show up in person and start doing that though and keeping the pressure up... if we could get 30-50 people doing that things would change.
The fact that this feature is going to be in future updates is what's going to make the game decline, regardless of what that update adds. For Singleplayer use, this won't matter. But I know there are a lot of people who depend on Multiplayer especially when it comes to socialization. I appreciate them trying to tweak the rules a bit, but they keep taking 10 steps backwards. The fact that they don't have a strike system in place before people get banned forever from multiplayer is what pisses me off.
@@bigfoot_was_a_furry there's polls that shown 85% of people or more aren't happy with the decision and usually these people are the ones that are already following the rules as is. We already had decent systems in place for these kinds of things.

Don't wear your shoes in the living room and dont go in any of the rooms upstairs. Fine right? But imagine the government forced you to make all these overwhelming unnecessary rules forced by cops? I can. It's the result of everyone thinking it's someone else's responsibility to protect the future, kicking problems down the road until they become unsolvable. The thing is that they already added a way to block someone from recieving their chat messages. After that I dont think it is really necessary for them to add any more chat moderation features as 75% of public servers already have chat moderation and "quitting early moderation". And the other 25% of the servers that DONT have chat moderation, players can just use the chat message blocking system that they already added.
heres an idea i had: when creating realms/servers, there should be an option to enable these reporting features or not. if the server wants to, boom, the reporting features are there, if not, the server just stays unaffected

Without the risk of having your account banned, every sign and message you have sent combed through, or encouraging Mojang to make more shitty decisions. If you are playing on a big enough server, it's already moderated. If it's a small enough server, either don't play it or just contact the owner.

A while ago, I forgot when, but it was about a year or so ago. Mojang added something nobody wanted and was pretty pointless, the community yelled about it and they immediately reverted the change. I thought to myself, "I'm glad Mojang listens to the Minecraft community." I think I jinxed it
at first I was sad about the inevitable fall of minecraft but seeing mojang not even put in a semblance of effort to fix their shitty game makes me excited for a successor to come out and stick to what minecraft used to stand for
My opinion is that they should remove reporting entirely, but instead have a chat filter like roblox, that you can also add your own "bad" words which could be turned on or off in settings and when a player makes a new account or logs onto the new update for the first time then it comes up with a prompt asking if you want to have it on or off just incase someone is really sensitive to swearing/slurs/etc. Maybe have it in the server config file where it is enforced on all active players on that server.
The sad but funny part is that it'll likely be that the older people end up leaving the game and so the main demographic really WILL be 10 year olds. The filter is stricter than Roblox and the ban system is even more childish than that on games who have a demographic of actual toddlers. Anyone with more than two braincells will likely end up only being too afraid to talk... Ever....
precisely. mojang’s chat reporting is so much stricter compared to games that actually are meant for little kids. roblox is at least playable for people who are older than 10, but mojangs chat reporting? it doubles in comparison. it is 100% clear that this update is being controlled by higher ups and not just devs but the people making the system are uneducated, rushed, and quite frankly careless with this entire process. minecraft cannot suddenly just add a reporting system and it work flawlessly. these kind of updates should be gradual, transparent, and easy to use. not fast and harsh like they have opted for here

i did that Microsoft thing to be able to play on the java edition, but now i can't even log on minecraft. It is so sad to see a game i've played for 8 years becoming unable to play.
Minecraft is a big part of many people's lives including me so this just devastates me. I've told my friends to just not use chat and just call when we play Minecraft, or text instead. They've taken legitimate suggestions for improving the security of the system and have patched tons of exploits. People have always chosen what we want to allow on our platforms or in our forums. Mojang is choosing not to allow racism, harassment, pedophilia, etc on Minecraft. That is good in my opinion and I hope you'd be happy there will be less of all those things. Server owners were trusted to maintain their own communities but they needed some oversight. The racists, harassers, and pedophiles very often became server owners themselves.

Not to mention, if someones banned on minecraft they are just gonna go to discord or something if they arent there already so they arent solving anything. Server owners have been trusted for 10 years to moderate their servers and have way more experience in doing so than mojang, who has..... none. Which is evident by how poorly built the system is. And in extreme cases where a degenerate server owner is the offender, which is all but unheard of, no ones gonna play the server anyways. And if they do get banned? They are just gonna make a new account. You can always play bedrock if you want these features, its the platform for little kids and they belong there, not on java.
Idk how they would ban mods from Java. Even if there is a system which will check if you are using mods, there could be some mods which can also bypass this system. You can actually just mod the whole game.
If leaving early really is capable of getting your account banned, then that means if the game crashes or has a connection error and you get kicked, it would result in your getting banned.
Nintendo did something like this with splatoon 2. BUT, luckily, they have a time out ban. If you disconnect for any reason onne to many times in a row, they will put you in time out to rethink your decisions.

The most ridiculous thing about the whole chat reporting system is that people have already started development on hacks that will mass report your account getting it banned.

Alright, I think it's time for me to leave multi-player servers entirely. I will not deal with this chat report feature, and I don't want to leave Minecraft just yet. If it gets worse, I will. I won't stop watching people play it on Twitch or UA-cam or anything, but Minecraft just isn't the same now.
The only way that mojang can work this out is with stuff that can threat the life of someone, like doxxing or similar, stuff like "profanity" "bad username" and "quitting early" are really, really so badly explained, and also just bad for the environment of the game, if someone quits early in a mini game of Mc, is the problem of the server, not Mc, if someone has a bad username, is mc's problem but they can change it (if that's how report works, I think that's good at least) but if someone threats you with doxxing, nobody is in power to do anything more than mojang with legal stuff, cause mojang has their info, more than the server itself Hope mojang understands this and doesn't add some abusive report system
It should be noted that if a player receives a ban it's a ban it's the player's unique ID key that gets banned therefore any version of Minecraft that has access to the players unique ID key will not let them play. I believe this includes Minecraft versions 1.6 to 1.19. If you ask me the only bullies in this situation are Microsoft and Mojang. And the video posters correct the average age of the Minecraft player is approximately 24 we can police ourselves thank you.

Even though I don't own a server in 1.19, its still enraging to see them make the argument, "Some servers don't moderate, so we'll do it for you." The biggest issue I have with chat bans in Minecraft is that it's a multiplayer wide ban meaning if I run a server directly on my own computer I would be banned from it, there is no scenario where someone should be banned from their own minecraft server
I used to think bedrock was microsoft's minecraft and java was mojang's. That was up until they started making decisions that were highly looked down upon. From the moment fireflies were removed, I could tell something was up. Previously, we had mob votes and they would even sometimes listen to our complaints, but that's no longer happening. The whole reason we even got a cave update was because we complained for years and years beforehand and it worked. The fireflies was the perfect foreshadowing for the future of minecraft. Anyways, back to the minecraft versions. The fact that microsoft is starting to drizzle in their own features from bedrock into java really shows how much they're overstepping their boundaries.
The one that I'm actually all for is the bad name ban because I've seen far too many slur variants for race and gender in usernames that are pretty terrible. If people are gonna be that hateful with their username, I'd have 0 confidence that they could be a decent human being to others. That's where a lot of my support ends, especially for "quitting early." Like, what? Unless it's something like multiplayer Bed Wars or something where the teammates quit a minute or two after the game starts and the other teammates are screwed. Even then, that's a Hypixel problem, not Mojang
This system is even worse than what you all think. I was just recently banned for a week of minecraft bedrock edition multiplayer due to me naming a villager something vaguely inappropriate. Nobody reported me but I was still banned. Me and my friends constantly do things like this. Me and everybody on the realm are 14+, if not grown ass men. This shit is ridiculous.

The Notch era had flaws too, he also refused to take suggestions and deviate from his vision, but at least it was a good one, not a completely locked down actively malicious game that can and will revoke your access permanently if you don't play nice. The updates we've had since he left have ranged from utter shit to just kinda mediocre. I can't imagine how he feels seeing his legacy go this way.
Chat Reporting is one thing, the fact that you can potentially get banned for leaving the game too early is absolutely ridiculous since there's no real way of knowing if they left in purpose or if it was bad internet connections, not to mention how unnecessary it is since servers can ban you for combat logging and leaving mid-game and some servers like Hypixel even let you rejoin.
Well you can't actually report people for that, it's just on the appeals website because Mojang copy-pasted an "offences" list from a random multiplayer game.

Legitimate reason for this rule is usually because, in competitive games, being down a teammate is a death sentence. It is unfair on your team if you leave. And yes it is your fault if you can't sit out a match. Yes life gets in the way, but you starting a match is you making an agreement with your team that you will see it through.
None of this applies to mine craft though as it is a sand box survival game...

Minetest has a really cool modding system where your client automatically downloads and runs mods from a server, it has an incredible world height (2^16 blocks, iirc), and I kinda like its Beta-like aesthetic. Its physics do suck a little, but other than that it’s great fun!
The fact they _fought against mods_ that disable reporting is all you need to know. Stick a fork in Minecraft, it's done. I uninstalled. I'm not coming back even if they ditch the entire idea, because all they're going to try to do later is _sneak it in when no one's looking._ Screw 'em.

Ever since the report system launched i've been so scared to join public servers like hypixel, there is too many people who now have power to get rid of you permanently and it is just such a severe punishment, that its just not worth it to play on public servers anymore

a friend of mine was denied a spot as a staff member on a featured bedrock edition server because of something bad written on a sign in a realm they were present in. apparently, mojang sent the featured server the chat logs and sign logs to look through as part of a background check. the crazy part is, my friend didn’t place those signs! someone else on the realm did. this is bedrock edition, and nothing like this would ever happen on java as there are no featured servers, but it’s still interesting that they have THAT level of access to private realms and are free to share that info.

They could justify this if mojang were hosting all of the game servers themselves like with valorant. But they don't host anything so every single Minecraft server is effectively private.
They even say when you join multiplayer that everything is 3rd party. They don't own or have any right to implement rules for other people's hardware.
If you've ever hosted a server before you'll know that servers don't even run any 1st party software owned by mojang nor do you need an account to make a server
They run the Minecraft Server JAR, but... well... it's still running on your hardware, and it still doesn't exclude the fact that none of this was the terms under which the Minecraft accounts were bought.

What's annoying for me is that they can integrate this so easily without angering people just by making each of the rules toggle able, even then this rule just sucks so much, Minecraft will kill its own game if it doesn't listen to the community, we can't let this game die like this we need to fight back.

If they are successful and completely prevent servers from escaping their moderation, I think many will just resot to bypassing account authentication entirely, and switch to cracked, and allow anyone to access without an official accounts. Which I hope they do, so much that ppl stop buying the game. If they can't be trusted, not even to acknowledge their communitys feedback. I hope it costs them millions

Open source game, it runs very well on a $15 a month vps and we weren't lagging at all until the admin added a few too many unoptimized mods LOL
when you connect to a minetest server, it automatically loads all the mods for you and you never have to deal with forge
we have an in game skin selector, vertical slabs, trains, extra ores, and a plant expansion mod that has palm trees
it was a little weird at first but I got 100% used to it
I'm looking forward to the shaders that are going to come out for minetest soon

Microsoft likes to assume that people will always like playing minecraft, so they just disregard 96% of its players and add random updates for no reason whilst trying to squeeze as much money from the player as possible.

I like how they’re asking us to give feedback or concerns for some of the new features while simultaneously deleting messages from people on their UA-cam streams asking about the chat reporting, my respect for Mojang has gone down to the same level as companies like Respawn (I like their games but hate some of their recent decisions surrounding those games).

The fact that this feature is going to be in future updates is what's going to make the game decline, regardless of what that update adds. For Singleplayer use, this won't matter. But I know there are a lot of people who depend on Multiplayer especially when it comes to socialization. I appreciate them trying to tweak the rules a bit, but they keep taking 10 steps backwards. The fact that they don't have a strike system in place before people get banned forever from multiplayer is what pisses me off.

I can. It's the result of everyone thinking it's someone else's responsibility to protect the future, kicking problems down the road until they become unsolvable. Those bullies that never got what they deserved in school? Yeah, they're in positions of power now, and suddenly the people the so-called 'adults' didn't want to deal with because they figured it was someone else's problem and not worth sacrificing their time for have come back to steal everything they have. They were a small problem, but now that they've been allowed to take people's lunch money, they have no problem ruining everyone else's lives.
The thing is that they already added a way to block someone from recieving their chat messages. After that I dont think it is really necessary for them to add any more chat moderation features as 75% of public servers already have chat moderation and "quitting early moderation". And the other 25% of the servers that DONT have chat moderation, players can just use the chat message blocking system that they already added.
heres an idea i had: when creating realms/servers, there should be an option to enable these reporting features or not. if the server wants to, boom, the reporting features are there, if not, the server just stays unaffected

My opinion is that they should remove reporting entirely, but instead have a chat filter like roblox, that you can also add your own "bad" words which could be turned on or off in settings and when a player makes a new account or logs onto the new update for the first time then it comes up with a prompt asking if you want to have it on or off just incase someone is really sensitive to swearing/slurs/etc. Maybe have it in the server config file where it is enforced on all active players on that server.
The sad but funny part is that it'll likely be that the older people end up leaving the game and so the main demographic really WILL be 10 year olds. The filter is stricter than Roblox and the ban system is even more childish than that on games who have a demographic of actual toddlers.
Anyone with more than two braincells will likely end up only being too afraid to talk... Ever....
precisely. mojang’s chat reporting is so much stricter compared to games that actually are meant for little kids. roblox is at least playable for people who are older than 10, but mojangs chat reporting? it doubles in comparison. it is 100% clear that this update is being controlled by higher ups and not just devs but the people making the system are uneducated, rushed, and quite frankly careless with this entire process. minecraft cannot suddenly just add a reporting system and it work flawlessly. these kind of updates should be gradual, transparent, and easy to use. not fast and harsh like they have opted for here

i did that Microsoft thing to be able to play on the java edition, but now i can't even log on minecraft. It is so sad to see a game i've played for 8 years becoming unable to play.
Minecraft is a big part of many people's lives including me so this just devastates me. I've told my friends to just not use chat and just call when we play Minecraft, or text instead. It's easier and there is no way Mojang is getting into our phones to be like:

They've taken legitimate suggestions for improving the security of the system and have patched tons of exploits. People have always chosen what we want to allow on our platforms or in our forums.
Mojang is choosing not to allow racism, harassment, pedophilia, etc on Minecraft. That is good in my opinion and I hope you'd be happy there will be less of all those things. Server owners were trusted to maintain their own communities but they needed some oversight. The racists, harassers, and pedophiles very often became server owners themselves.

The security of the system has not improved at all, take a look at things like nodus gaslight, its very easily exploitable.
While im not defending racism or pedophilia and whatnot, im also gonna say that mojang shouldnt choose whats allowed on servers and whats not, as they arent their business, and yeah its good that they are trying to do something about extreme situations like the latter, they are hurting the entire community by doing so, which isnt the way to go. Not to mention, if someones banned on minecraft they are just gonna go to discord or something if they arent there already so they arent solving anything.
Server owners have been trusted for 10 years to moderate their servers and have way more experience in doing so than mojang, who has..... none. Which is evident by how poorly built the system is.
And in extreme cases where a degenerate server owner is the offender, which is all but unheard of, no ones gonna play the server anyways.
And if they do get banned? They are just gonna make a new account.
You can always play bedrock if you want these features, its the platform for little kids and they belong there, not on java.

If leaving early really is capable of getting your account banned, then that means if the game crashes or has a connection error and you get kicked, it would result in your getting banned.
Nintendo did something like this with splatoon 2.
BUT, luckily, they have a time out ban. If you disconnect for any reason onne to many times in a row, they will put you in time out to rethink your decisions.

I would just like to inform you that if you are banned, you ARE able to play versions that are underneath 1.6.4 online with any servers because authentication is broken on those versions. Not that it changes much though...

@@waffles9304 what actually happened is that higher ups at mojang abused their positions to enforce these rules on unwilling devs and coders, and that’s why this is all so awful. this was “mojangs” decision, but it wasn’t all agreements. as of now those bad actors are anon but as time goes on im sure they will be revealed.

Alright, I think it's time for me to leave multi-player servers entirely. I will not deal with this chat report feature, and I don't want to leave Minecraft just yet. If it gets worse, I will. I won't stop watching people play it on Twitch or UA-cam or anything, but Minecraft just isn't the same now.

The only way that mojang can work this out is with stuff that can threat the life of someone, like doxxing or similar, stuff like "profanity" "bad username" and "quitting early" are really, really so badly explained, and also just bad for the environment of the game, if someone quits early in a mini game of Mc, is the problem of the server, not Mc, if someone has a bad username, is mc's problem but they can change it (if that's how report works, I think that's good at least) but if someone threats you with doxxing, nobody is in power to do anything more than mojang with legal stuff, cause mojang has their info, more than the server itself
Hope mojang understands this and doesn't add some abusive report system
It should be noted that if a player receives a ban it's a ban it's the player's unique ID key that gets banned therefore any version of Minecraft that has access to the players unique ID key will not let them play. I believe this includes Minecraft versions 1.6 to 1.19. If you ask me the only bullies in this situation are Microsoft and Mojang. And the video posters correct the average age of the Minecraft player is approximately 24 we can police ourselves thank you.
After notch sold minecraft to Microsoft that sealed the coffin but i did not expect for the coffin to get much worse

@@thugpug4392 your justifying the idea of a feature that goes against everyone not just the small amount of pedophiles. People are receiving false bans and private servers and realms having things blurred. I am against pedophiles being able to groom children but this is not the way to go about it. Parents should be responsible for their own kids if you have chat report they'll only figure out another way to go about doing it so it's not going to stop that
@@555droid6 no one has been banned yet. The system isn't even rolled out on Java. Java doesn't have chat censoring only chat reporting.

Even though I don't own a server in 1.19, its still enraging to see them make the argument, "Some servers don't moderate, so we'll do it for you."
Mojang doesn't seem to understand, server owners pay a 3rd party to host their servers (or run it themselves), So Mojang should have ZERO control over their server or how they want to run it.
The biggest issue I have with chat bans in Minecraft is that it's a multiplayer wide ban meaning if I run a server directly on my own computer I would be banned from it, there is no scenario where someone should be banned from their own minecraft server
I used to think bedrock was microsoft's minecraft and java was mojang's. That was up until they started making decisions that were highly looked down upon. From the moment fireflies were removed, I could tell something was up. Previously, we had mob votes and they would even sometimes listen to our complaints, but that's no longer happening. The whole reason we even got a cave update was because we complained for years and years beforehand and it worked. The fireflies was the perfect foreshadowing for the future of minecraft. Anyways, back to the minecraft versions. The fact that microsoft is starting to drizzle in their own features from bedrock into java really shows how much they're overstepping their boundaries.

The one that I'm actually all for is the bad name ban because I've seen far too many slur variants for race and gender in usernames that are pretty terrible. If people are gonna be that hateful with their username, I'd have 0 confidence that they could be a decent human being to others.
That's where a lot of my support ends, especially for "quitting early." Like, what? Unless it's something like multiplayer Bed Wars or something where the teammates quit a minute or two after the game starts and the other teammates are screwed. Even then, that's a Hypixel problem, not Mojang
This system is even worse than what you all think. I was just recently banned for a week of minecraft bedrock edition multiplayer due to me naming a villager something vaguely inappropriate. Nobody reported me but I was still banned. Me and my friends constantly do things like this. Me and everybody on the realm are 14+, if not grown ass men. This shit is ridiculous.

Minecraft has literally been a sandbox and about your freedom since its conseption.and now you can be locked away from playing with your friends for lagging out in the middle of a match.
as an old player i can confirm that Notch knew the beauty of Minecraft, and Mincrosoft are grandfathers who don't even know how to play minecraft and what player want
The Notch era had flaws too, he also refused to take suggestions and deviate from his vision, but at least it was a good one, not a completely locked down actively malicious game that can and will revoke your access permanently if you don't play nice. The updates we've had since he left have ranged from utter shit to just kinda mediocre. I can't imagine how he feels seeing his legacy go this way.
