- Hey! In-game settings you are suppose to use FSR2 for DLSS. In this video I told you guys to switch it to CAS as someone has told me and I think it was a misunderstanding. Either way, I should have followed the instructions that was stated in the modpage.
- For those who does not have a RTX 4000 Series, don't get me wrong you can use DLSS.dll version 3.5.0 but not DLSS 3 (Frame Generation) A.K.A DLSS FG.

as i hit HOME nothing happens, can some of you help me?
i had this problem. my issue was caused (i believe) by downloading the game to a secondary drive (D: drive) instead of the main drive where my OS is stored (C: drive) I deleted all the game files from D: drive, reinstalled them on C: drive, then followed this guide. if your game is already installed to the main drive, sorry for wasting your time. @@6cynt9

They’re probably gonna put it in a patch, but it’s still BS that steam deck players have to wait. It basically creates a de facto delay.

Thank you Panda!! Everytime I would put it on ultra settings it would just freeze when I tried moving. After watching your video I didn't know that if you were using reshade version you have to switch to Cass. After switching to Cass fix it instantly thank you so much!! Your the best!

Games looks so sharp now. Thanks man FSR 2 looks great in higher res but I’m playing in 1080p and it made the game look so terrible. This with NIS makes the game looks so clean with little jaggies. Sucks I have to do this since every other game I can play at 1440p and get over 100fps.

Hey sorry for the late reply! I am not too sure what to recommend since I have a 4070 series card and I think the versions affects each card differently (I may be wrong)
anyone else have the issue where pressing home works but when i press end it just exits the game and doesnt show the pop up
Does this work for the Windows version of the game?! I mean the non-steam. Also, does this work for RTX 30 series cards? as they do not support DLSS 3.0, only 2.0. Thanks for advance.
I read if you change the FRS setting at all the DLSS mod no longer works

Hi, thank you for making this video.
I was using the nexus mod version with no problem, but I wanted to try the FG mod since I'm using a4090.
I followed the steps on discord by extracting the folder into the game root directory, after deleting the mentioned file.
When I press end, the game just closes.
I can replace the deleted file and it seems to work as before, but I haven't been successful in the new mod.
Would anyone know what I possibly missed? I didn't know about the home button.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work properly on my rtx 3090. FPS does not change with the plugin turned on or off. The upper window appears when you start the game, the home and END keys work. but it doesn't change the FPS regardless of the type of DLSS you choose. I had the same problem without the plugin. Someone help? I replaced nvngx_dlss_3.5.0 and nvngx_dlss_2.5.1, nothing helps. FPS unchanged :( My game is not orginal , not from steam :P

Yes you can but FG (frame generation) won’t work.
Followed it to a T, for some reason, hotkey wont work, but im not getting the reshade installing when loading the game, all settings as should be, overlay disabled. Im missing something am just not sure what?
Hmm if reshade installing pop out does not appear, it’s not installed correctly. I know you said you followed the tutorial but it should be all good if you did.. maybe anti virus? Not sure really

If your current FPS is 40 without DLSS, I am sure having DLSS would add at least +10 FPS or way more. Either way, I personally think it's worth having. Especially if you want to play the game a lot smoother :)

@@8Black244 I see! Hmmm.. I will be honest, optimization of the game is really bad right now. I hope on Sept 6 (Official Release) they will have a day 1 patch for optimization. In some places, even my 4070ti drops to 30 FPS and I play in 1080p as well. (Elsewhere is okay)
So I cannot say for sure if you will be able to run 40 fps since a 3060 GPU is a bit of an entry card. Though maybe low-medium you would be able to achieve this. Again, I am saying this based on what I think.

No I don’t :( but I recommend using steam as the best mods will be only available on steam unless xbox lessens their restrictions

I know people have said it shouldn't be set to CAS but for me, I seem to get the same performance and there's less shimmer so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Yes it works! just not DLSS 3 (Frame Generation) Loading into an old save will work fine.
I have followed your guide very carefully, but it just doesn't work. I have RTX 2080S, so I used 2.5.1 file, did everything what you said, enabled it but it has no effect my FPS, its all the same, there is no upscalling even when it's enabled.
They say 3.5.0 works okay with any RTX Cards. And I did a mistake, instead of CAS try switching it to FSR2! :)

@@TheOGstriker maybe because it's a MOD not a real dlss my guy... it's mainly effect the quality not the fps
Firstly, you have to choose FSR2 in the in-game settings (under the hood DLSS has replaced it). Secondly, in order to see a performance benefit you’ll need to reduce the resolution scaling slider below 100%. 67% is equivalent to DLSS “Quality” mode and you’ll see even better performance the lower it goes. The benefit of DLSS is better image quality at the same upscaled resolution so you can lower it further than FSR.
Unfortunately these early DLSS3 frame generation mods produce a lot of visual artifacts. I really hope to see a proper native implementation at some point. Still, for those 4060/4070 owners wanting a smoother presentation this could be a worthwhile tradeoff.

I saw someone said DLL 3.5 works fine with 3080TI. Best to try it out and if it causes some problems, switching the dlss.dll to a lower version (2.5.1) should be no problem
DLSS 3.5 works for both 30 and 40 series cards.
Only thing that won’t work will be DLSS 3 (frame generation) as it requires RTX 4000 series GPU
@@CaptPanda DLSS 3.5 works on RTX20,30 and 40. 3.5 is purely a upscaler / ray tracing denoizer and not to be confused with DLSS3 which is Frame Generation

yep but this game is not ray traicing implementation or path so 20 and 30 will be only allow to use dlss 2 wich is inclued on dlss 3.5 no frame generator as you said and no denoizer ( frame generator is only for 40gen

Yes, as the mod page also stated. I apologize for this as someone has told me switching to CAS fixes some freezes for them. But yes, you are suppose to switch it to FSR2.

ok with the help of dpimental on the Nexusmod board, you have go into Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Programs Setting tab > Select Starfield > set Max Frame Rate field to 62. If you do that my crashing completely stopped.

Followed all steps and the game won’t even launch idk what I missed but I watched it 3 Times tried both Dlls gens and still the game won’t launch until I uninstall it all so fuck this I guess
Are you using steam version of the game? Not too sure how xbox gamepass works but it probably should be the same. If no hope, I guess we gotta wait till Starfield implements dlss (next update)
when i tried to install this, the game wouldnt even start.
i pressed the play button, it turned blue then showed play again. Didnt even load. Tried both versions of DLSS 2 types.
I assume you got all 3 files installed correctly hmmm maybe try restarting PC just to be sure. And if it still does not work, I am not too sure as this is the only instructions I know of :/
@@CaptPanda Yeah, i installed each step by step like you did in the video. But I'm gonna try and restart the my PC cuz the game before all this was slightly messing around.
Like the sound would go out sometimes or random short freezing as you move around.
@@StruggaBugga oh! There might be some problems. If it does not work still, I suggest verifying your game files through steam. If it still does not work and if you’ve got the time, I think reinstalling it would be the only way (if you’re experiencing the game being messy without mods)
I know there is a way to keep your save file so you don’t have to worry about it

It means that it's not installed correctly~
The dxgi.dll breaks the game and won't launch with it in the file folder.
Are you using Steam?
Quick question for you, is your GPU an RTX? Or something lower like a version of 1060/1070/1080 etc. I was running into the same problem until I realized that DLSS is ONLY supported on the RTX series. (A little piece of information that would be SUPER nice to seen given as a big 'CAUTION' sign at the beginning of any/all instructions related to DLSS mods)
DLLS2 mod doesn't really do anything.. FPS stays exactly the same. and the DLLS 3 mod makes the game crash quite often. (ANd yes they were installed correctly, the high FPS count you get with DLSS3 isn't something the creation engine likes.)

Bruh I just installid this and according to the mod it's upscaling from 2560x1440 to 2560x1440 what the heck? lol tried switching presets but it won't work. im playing at 1440p btw

@@CaptPanda whats really weird too is when I started it again after deleting i forgot the reshade file that came in the one download and it started and the reshade popped up but said theyre were no settings to change so the reshade works but nothing else works with it I guess 🤷♂️🤷♂️

DLSS 3 WORKS ON A L L RTX CARDS, NOT ONLY ON RTX 4XXX CARDS
Don’t get me wrong DLSS.dll 3.5.0 works with RTX cards BUT the DLSS 3 (frame generation) requires an RTX 4000 series card.

dlss 3 does works on 20 and 30 series but the fg option doesnt. Just the FG that is bound to the 40 series gpus but the dlss 3 is not bound to them@@CaptPanda

It's really not worth downloading this mod. Sorry I said it. It didn't do anything really. I got 3 fps more maybe. On a rtx 3070
Personally, every FPS counts. But I get what you mean :/ I wish it can be a lot more! You might need to do some optimization within your in-game settings
@CaptPanda the game called for high settings for 1440p for a rtx3070, you can find that inside the game files btw.... people on 4090s are getting 70 fps. Game is optimized like ass. And 3 fps isn't worth the trouble for others. If I set the monitor to 1080p and all game settings on low with no fsr or anything I get 70 fps . 1440p fsr2 , 100% rez on med settings, I get 40 to 50 fps on the ground up to 80 in space.
Its defo is not worth using this mod, and then wants a patron payment for beta files to use yea go figure...
its worth using if you have a 40 series card and just drop 5 bucks for dlss 3. frame gen makes the fps much better but its stupid ppl gotta do this anyways
Why are you saying to enable CAS? The mod itself says to enable FSR2 in its description, because that's what it replaces with DLSS.
