    I’m about 7 hours in. I’m 40 and at this age it’s really rare to get that Christmas morning feeling. Last time I had it was the release of No man’s sky, before that, was Skyrim, and now with Starfield.
    Couldn’t be happier with this game.

      Dude, same. I picked up a bounty contract to deliver some ship parts to Akila City, and since the quest had a timer I went and dropped the stuff off immediately, figuring I might as well get it over with and then continue on with the story. When arriving at Akila, I'm taken aback by the fact that it's a classic western "tombstone-ish" town, and there's a good ol bank robbery in progress.
      And yeh, now I'm a ranger too, lol.

    I'd say:
    1. Learn to quicksave often. The game is horrendous about when to autosave, and you can find yourself reloading to a Very unsavory position.
    2. Don't just rely on Particle Beams. You can build amazing ship killers using missiles as secondary, or lasers and ballistics.
    3. Make multiple loot trips to the Ship, and just drop all items on the floor. The Ship will Still launch.
    4. If you Have contraband, use Neon as well. You pay a little fine, then just back up into the corner of the room with the containers where the Neon security can't see you, and sneak down and steal. Then you can head to the Trade Authority there and cash in. Neons TA refreshes stock and credits almost every visit, Farrr more often then Kryx and the Den.
    5. Assign Vasco to your ship Immediately. He's almost like a secondary Companion in that if you land and their are hostile near, he'll wander away to fight with you and your Actual companion.
    Make outposts on planets high in Aluminum, Iron and Helium first as these are the most used building components.
    6. Most aid items that don't have a colored Triangle aren't worth keeping. There's a few like the Alien Food that boost Damage Resistance that are good, bot most that aren't the Med or Trauma Pack or Emergency Kit are just wasted credits.
    6. Some vendors only take certain items, so save them for those vendors when you land on their planets.
    7. Give the Unique weapons to your companions. Certain Magpulse or Regulator uniques just Devastate enemies, so if you have one 1 hitter and your companion has the other, it makes clearing out areas Easier.
    8. Invest in Laser related perks, and keep a Cutter. It can become the most OP weapon.
    9. Get the Dream house or Kid Stuff perk. They provide resting places for relatively cheap - $500 a week for Dream house, $500 a month for your parents apartment. Also, don't pay off the Dream House. You really only have to pay the $500 when you want to use it, it's not recurring. And you'll likely not use it enough to justify Actually paying it off, plus, you can stash contraband at the dreamhouse since there's no scan at Nesoii.
    10. Don't worry about trying to buy the "best ship", because you can spend 500k-700k credits on just a ship, and it be outclassed by the Frontier with just 300k and some perk investments in Piloting and Ship Design in the beginning of the game. Leveling up Both perks to 4 will allow you to buy ALL the best ship parts to turn your first and Free ship into a literal Battleship.

    I’m coming back to thank you for the advice/warning to play as far as Into the Unknown in the story mission. When you’re right you’re right Falcon. Seriously though he is right. I mean you don’t have to rush your way through that mission or anything but there is a really good reason you should play the story to the END of the mission Into the Unknown relatively soon. Like within your first 25-30 hours or so. I mean you are going to get side tracked a bit. It’s a Bethesda game and this is the most massive one yet but do get through that mission relatively soon. Falcon didnt mention you get three mission at once and Into the Unknown is one of them. You specifically need to finish just Into the Unknown. The other two aren’t required for what he’s talking about. Anyway, you were right. Good job. Lol.

    10:34 little tip. One way to "smuggle" contraband planetside without a shielded cargo is to get caught and pay the fine. When you get out, go back in to where you were arrested and look around the brig/lockup area. Usually you're confiscated items will be there. Wait for the right time and snag them. The fine you paid is small compared to the profits from a few pieces of contraband.

It was so nice because I wasn't the big bad super important Dragonborn, I was just some rando trying to do his best to survive during a civil war, wandering and doing odd jobs for cash. Thank Todd for those never ending radiant quests.

You can destroy ships from range before they lock on to you and can hit you with close up lasers and projectiles. Even the newbie ship does well with 3 par weapons.

    You can also do it via the Vanguard quest line, working for SysDef as a double/triple agent, and then the quest line is so much more interesting, trust me.

    .. the stealth thing is also in skyrim and fallout 4 .. you always ask your comapnion to wait in the next room atleast so he wouldn't attack anyone.. also if you are in stealth mode with companion the stealth meter will also say detect if your companion sees you so it is never a good idea.. except if you can stay in stealth while your companion fights an enemy then you get stealth bonus points from stealth kills..

    Here’s a thought: Iv been exploring different mostly barren planets trying to find the most beautiful perfect place to build my Home Base on, ANNND I found it. Took a while but it made exploring fun. Been gathering resources while I explore and let me say I gathered a LOT! Yes a lot of them are empty but it’s ok, use it as a mechanic instead of a drawback. As someone who usually does every single side quest I can before doing the next main mission, I concur; I have only continued one side quest so far and haven’t done any faction missions or joined anyone, I’ve agreed to, but then left,, and yea it just feels right to main the main quest line, it flows really well, and I haven’t yet found a space that makes sense to go off out into the universe alone,, 20hrs in, thoroughly enjoying it. I’ve reached ‘Into the Unknown’ but yea not stopping main quests yet, probably won’t for a while, apart from getting this man his branch 😅 and seems like there’s 100’s of hours of really well fleshed side quests to do after,, happy days 😊

    Your segment about the man with the paperwork left me wondering why you had so much unsold planetary survey data in your inventory at the end of your playthrough. You could have been selling it to Vladimir from the moment you met him, and he pays twice as much for it as any other NPC and reliably has 20k credits available to buy lots of it.

    • @rickydiamond441
      @rickydiamond441 11 місяців тому

      You don’t need to do that at all. You loot/discover so much stuff whilst exploring, it makes selling these pointless.
      I have well over 700,000 credits and absolutely nothing to spend it on.
      Spent over a million on ships as well.

  • @solitaryangel722
    @solitaryangel722 9 місяців тому +1

    Number 4 is wrong...you don't have to get caught at all...just join the Vanguard and start the Terramorph questline and you get a second mission that goes away from the terramorph line where you go to the UC Vigilance ship and that starts the Crimson Fleet quest.
    Number 9, the guy in the Cydonia bar...honestly, on my 5h run through I have never even seen him...seen the Crimson fleet guy, seen the woman from the office at the bar with a clipboard questionaire quest...seen the bartender to buy special drink from for a sick girls quests...completely never even saw that guy.
    Number 10...I think I completely ignored the main story for hours and I never took any companions with me unless directed to do so. They were bland, annoying, boring, insufferable and did I mention boring. In a later run I tried romancing Sarah which was dull as dishwater except for the end when I found a young girl surviving alone on a planet Sarah wanted to return too...finally, something interesting...but really, the main story is just so boring and stupid and Constellation are a joke...40 years they have been around and yet never found one of the floating rocks temples...yet there are settlements right next to them but Constellation know nothing of them...Or what about exploring settled planets...documenting resources and flora/fauna...but people already live there and work there...you think they didn't do a survey first? Constellation are a joke, they sit on their arses all day and don't know anything because they don't go anywhere.
    One thing I did find...do not finish the Freestar Ranger story before doing Ryujin...the way the Ranger quest ends will piss off the guards at...well that location (spoiler free). During Ryujin you are given two tasks...One to acquire a key card without shooting the person who has it...I have seen this person at Paradiso...at the Clinic and at...that location. And if you have finished the Ranger storyline then all the guards at that location automatically open fire the moment you enter the building...without fail...you will be fired upon. There is also a second Ryujin quest that...even if the keycard does not send you there...then planting the arc device definitely will and the same thing happens...you have to plant the device without being seen and that is impossible as every guard there will open fire the moment you enter.

    Actually, with being over-encumbered, there’s a few tricks you can utilize to haul a metric boatload of loot with you. You can make use of oxygen-increasing foods/drinks, and various water items to decrease oxygen consumption by ~20%; run instead of sprint, but if you sprint and jump using basic/balanced boost packs you can maintain only the running stamina consumption in midair (but be wary that jumping costs stamina/oxygen, too); you can make use of a certain “ability” to temporarily gain nearly infinite oxygen for a short time (and it can be used semi-permanently after being obtained); and try to prioritize only taking clutter items that are valued at least over 100 credits. Being this greedy let me get over 3-4 million credits by the time I was Level 35-40. Given how expensive ammo and ship parts can tend to be, it’s usually also not a bad idea to invest in a ship you can dump a ton of loot into (at least 2k storage capacity).

    • @mrbear9822
      @mrbear9822 Рік тому +1

      2k storage is rookie numbers! Gotta pump those numbers up. But good explanation especially the "ability" idea. I use that all the time when I'm filling up my 20k cargo starship. Basically makes it like over encumbered isn't a thing.
