I was named after this dude lol
hahaha
My neighbors grandpa knew Lenard sly before he was known as roy rogers
Me too. - Peter Roy
What's your name?
(I'm only joking! Sadly, we live in a time where people really ARE that dumb).
Me too, but in portuguese Ruirogeres.
I loved watching Roy Rogers on TV on Saturday mornings. I did not realize how well trained Trigger was . What a beautiful horse.
No one today comes close to the awesomeness of Roy Rogers.
Invisible Rubber Amen to that, He’s the King Of The Cowboys, he was my dad’s favorite actor him and John Wayne .
He actually has a skill. Wait he actually has 2! No, three! Is that what you had to do to become famous???
@@jamesmarler3939 Can we toss Gene Autry into the group?
Yep! For sure😎❤️
You Got that Right!!!!
Music from the past that still pleases......... RIP Roy.
Written by Cole Porter and what a great performance by Roy Rogers.
Was looking for a pure Cole Porter version. Very hard to find.
Roy did alright.
Bing and the Andrews Sisters , is the gold standard though😎
Roy's still the best! Call me old school for age 30, but I'd rather watch and listen to Roy Rogers and all the cool cowboy classics of back when any day over most of the off-the-wall "entertainment" of today. Cowboys are just plain cool and they're still my superheroes today.
yesss call me old school for 28 too then haha, happy to see another "young" fan.
I love Roy Rogers! Him & Dale Evans were a perfect match. Their movies are great! Trigger was the most famous horse in the movies.❤
I loved Trigger.
Runner-up for most talented one there I say. That was one well-trained horse!
Roy Rogers was the first cowboy on-screen when my brother Norman and I traveled 4 miles by bus every Saturday at 12.30 pm, destined to the Regal cinema in Al center Warwickshire.
When I was a baby my dad used to sing this to me and it always bring me happiness and peace I just hope someday I can sing this to my own children
Me too. My mother, deep in dementia, could still sing this right to the end.
That’s honestly awesome. I’m sorry about your mothers passing; I’m glad she had this masterpiece still with her in the end.
The Grandparents retired to their home state of Wyoming the year I was born.....and later had me come live with them in the summers. My best memory was meeting Roy and Iron Eyes Cody under the Antlers Arch in Down Town Jackson Hole....and riding the Stage Coach. I remember Roy's love for kids.
Great memory. So, you were born in 1944 also?
i do like the song but i really like trigger so cute😍🤩🥰😀
Before my time but a timeless classic.
I was born in 1942 and my older sister says that I would sit in my little rocking chair and sing "dont fence me in'
Hi
Greatest thrill of my life as a kid was seeing Roy Rogers on his horse Trigger at the Mid-South Fair Rodeo in 1959.
Lucky lol
1960 I was 8 saw him Iowa State Fair
Hello how are you doing
@@mellissamartin23 I am fine, thanks. Do I know you?

wat een ster in mijn kinder jaren VERGEET IK NOOIT MEER ( nu ben ik 83 jaar ) het was WO 2........ 1940 1945 mooi dank u UA-cam
My dad said this was one of his dad's favorite songs
Roy Rogers was Indian and German, strange but beautiful. He helped integrate everyone.
He did?
Mom was born in 1940 and said this was one of her most favorite songs. ♥♥♥♥♥ It's a sweet song and this is the best version!
I sang this 2nd grade when the teacher asked if anyone knew a song.
It doesn't get any better than this! However, the video tribute his Son Dusty Rogers did for in honor of the " King of the Cowboys" is in itself a great video & music that could have only been done by Dusty! I have had the great privilege to have met Dusty & had a photo made with him & the current Son's of the Pioneers! They are some of the very best musicians & greatest human beings on our planet today!
oh dang he danced with his horse?! never knew! how cool!
Leonard Sly was quite a performer!
Always loved this song. This is beautiful version.
This is why he got his own TV show the Roy Rogers show in the early 50s
I came from Irvın D. Yalom's "Creatures Of a Day" book
Bende😂
Me too :D
What a beauty coincidences 😅
I am also from Irvin's book 😁
@@kristynas6815 Iam happy to know this
What a smart horse!
Irvın Yalom'un "Günübirlik Hayatlar" isimli kitabında rastladım bu şarkıya. Gelip dinlemek istedim. Görüyorum ki birçok insan için nostaljinin ve eskiye özlemin sembollerinden biri haline gelmiş. Bu kültüre tamamen yabancı olmama rağmen kalbimin derinlerinde aynı özlem duygusunu hissettim.
Search “dean martin county music” on UA-cam. It’s a different type of western music, with Dean Martin’s style.
You’ll like it
Bende o kitapdan geldim
I also found this while reading Yalom. And came to look in the comments for others following the same path. Looks like I have found one :)
what language is this
Müzik ve edebiyat evrenseldir :’)
This was done the year I was born. Trigger is smarter than most people are today.
2 years ago I was flat determined I was gonna marry this man!!!💛 Too bad we have to grow up😂
Hes a little old for you anyway
I was besotten 65 years ago. Dale had already snatched him up.

SO good, really the true stage for this song
Yes: don't fence me in. Love it. 20-Oct-2023. 6:19 PM FRI.
Clean, healthy and beautiful, whatever happened to our country? God help us all...
Miss Ol Roy and Dale.
I love you Roy! You were a part of my childhood, you & Gene with your Radio shows circa 1946/47?.
Seems like you were on Saturdays and were the only entertainment we had on the Farm in Kansas.(No Electric or Run Water).
Me, too.
This is how I want to decorate my back room. I love the campfire; I'd love a faux campfire, lol.
We need more Roy Rogers , Gene Autry , Hop a Long Cassidy and other clean cut American horos.
I mean heros.
Roy was one of the best.
I’m so lucky to be related to him.
Rest In Peace of a legend
Merveilleux! La chanson de Cole Porter. Roy Rogers et... Trigger.❤❤❤
Awesome voice
That was a pretty talented horse to dance like that!
Beautiful.
SO TRUE; DON'T FENCE ME IN.
Trigger certainly a star , incredible.
Wonderful Trigger. My neighborhood playmates and I thought he was the best of TV
Coolest sequence in the film!

Thanks a lot - Merci beaucoup
This song was originally written by Porter for a film ("Adiós, Argentina") by Twentieth Century Fox, that was never shot.

From Cole Porter! (Rio, march/31/2020).
My Mom was born in 1939, she and her older sister would wear the cowgirl dresses their Mom made and go to the Saturday movie to see Roy & Dale.
this was my old mans song.hard bastard

A great part of the real America 🇺🇸 🐎 🤠
Günübirlik Hayatlar 💟
You can see how much Roy loves Trigger. It must have been a terrible blow when Trigger died.
It was.
A much better time. He was at his museum in Victorville when we visited. Didn't get to actually meet him though.
Wildcat Kelly, lookin' mighty pale
Was standing by the sheriff's side
And when that sheriff said, "I'm sending you to jail"
Wildcat raised his head and cried
Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above
Don't fence me in
Let me ride through the wild open country that I love
Don't fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evening breeze
Listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever, but I ask you please
Don't fence me in
Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise
I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon until I lose my senses
I can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences
Don't fence me in
Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above
Don't fence me in
Let me ride through the wild open country that I love
Don't fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evening breeze
Listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever, but I ask you please
Don't fence me in
Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise
I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon until I lose my senses
I can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences
Don't fence me in
Anybody else think of Eddie the delivery boy in "To Grandmother's House We Go" when they hear this? I love this movie, it is one of my favorite Christmas movies! The story is happy and heartwarming and Michelle did such a great job playing twins!
This song was also in "full house" episode (jesse sings in a forest with joey). And michelle was played by twins mary-kate and ashley olsen
@@caosando.diversao Can you please tell me the title of this Full House episode? I don't remember this one. Also, I need to be honest.
I am disappointed with the way the Olsen twins grew up.
Sweet ,adorable and loving when they were little girls, they grew up to be too adult.
Child superstar Shirley Temple grew up to host her own T.V series that retold children’s stories for all ages. The great and funny Macaulay Culkin grew up cherishing his years as a child star-and even reprised his most-famous role of Kevin McCallister for a Google commercial. Adult Haylie Mills reprised her amazing childhood dule-role as identical twins, Susan and Sharon for two Parent Trap sequels. The amazing Aileen Quinn feels that Annie will always be a very special part of her life, and still sings Annie songs today.
But The Olsen Twins grew up the opposite of their kind, sweet child roles, such As Michelle Tanner, Sarah and Julie Thomson in To Grandmother’s House We Go, and even their own kind, sweet selves, as they were in their Mother’s Day special in 1993. The Olsen twins grew up too be appearance - obsessed fashion empires who are overly mature and too thin-and being too thin is NOT attractive! (At one point, Mary-Kate even had an eating disorder because of this!)
They really ought to have fallowed the advice in their great song “When I Grow Up, I Want To Be A Kid” For this song had it right. Instead, they grew up to be overly mature, appearance-obsessed fashion empires who care about appearances, fashion and money over family, friends, and simple joy.
So although I once adored the Olsen twins when they were younger, I have come to ignore them. They are just too upsetting for me now.
I focus only on that sweet, adorable Michelle as a person of her own and forget that there are two girls.
When I watch Full House I see Michelle, a sweet, loving talented girl who plays almost herself as Michelle Tanner. When I watch movies, such as to Grandmothers House We Go, or even The Olsen Twins’ Mother’s Day Special, I see two Michelles-the same sweet, loving, talented girl playing twins in special movies and shows. My Michelle forever remains a kind, sweet, loving person and I even have my own American Girl doll of Michelle that I watch Full House and “Michelle” movies with.
@@catgirl7765 totally agree with you about the olsen twins! You can see the clip here in you tube "jesse and joey spot a skunk" but I'll try to remember the name of the episode
@@caosando.diversao I will look on UA-cam, but please do remember the name of the episode if you can, for T.V show episodes, such as Full House, I much preferer to watch them on my television set.
Also, please do read my article about the Olsen twins. It might be long, but I was simply explaining how I feel about them.
Cat, the episode name is "danny in charge" (season 4 ep 12). I made a mistake: they sing "happy trails" and not " don't fence me in" but both roy rogers songs are part of "to grandmother's house we go" soundtrack movie
Americans favorite cowboy has not one but two guns on his hips.
Rick..one of the patients ofIrvin Yaloms who is talking about in his book...brought me here...the book is: Creatures of a day and other tales of psychoteharpy...the songs lyrcs shaped the way of their psychorephy...its interesting❤
Wow that was FANTASTIC but (who was that on Trigger???)
A Cole Porter's song.
if that is the same canteen that became the Bob Hope USO club on Ivar Ave then that is the same place i used to hang out in when i was stationed at Edwards AFB.
Im Brasilian, this man inspire my father, my name? In portuguese Ruirogeres .
how many people here, came from the fallout mod, the studio version of this is Incredible....
I'm Triggered.
Maravilha.
definitely not just here because funny song was in bonelab
They did a pretty good remix. When I played the game I was shocked they had this in there
I was always rather partial to Roy Rogers myself.
Somewhere there is footage of Leonardo DiCaprio singing this instead of "Green Door" for "Once Upon A Time...in Hollywood."
@BHoweify I posted this before I even saw the footage but I can confirm it does exist. He signs this in a full deleted scene and it was shown at Tarantinos theater in L.A.
What a strange career when you think about it.
