Wow! Such talent from Bing and the girls. He was a nifty mover and remembered all the schtick he had to do. The Bob Hope gag was a masterclass in how to make a lot from the briefest appearance. This was such a treat, I know the film we will be watching tonight. Thank you nicoley.
My sister, dad and I saw this movie about a year or more ago and we all were freaking out and so excited when we saw Bing AND the Andrews Sisters singing. One of the coolest movie scenes I’ve ever seen.
The Andrews Sisters are constantly killing it in their backup roles. Their solo albums are phenomenal but music would not be the same without them supporting the vocal powerhouses that they did.
Wow! What choreography: everyone making the right steps, gestures, etc., at the right time. My first memory was in April of ‘47, at eight months of age, so I’m glad they filmed this so we could enjoy it later! In ‘48 or ‘49 I did recall the sisters singing ‘Aurora’! I couldn’t understand what they were singing at that early age, but the way they sang Aurora caught my ear. 😮🤗👶
I absolutely adore everything about this. They all have such great chemistry and clearly really enjoy performing together! I wish there were more videos of them together!
@@iampinball3669 You're saying this on an Andrews Sisters video? Don't get me wrong, I love the Andrews Sisters to death, but they're not exactly conventionally attractive.
Bing and the Andrew Sisters always sparked off each other. Great stuff! Good ad libs by Bing and Patty Andrews. This is also one of the best of the Road series.
How wonderful. So much talent. Watch Bing and how much funny stuff he does. I often wonder how much of his stuff is choreographed. If you haven't already seen Road to Casablanca do so. With Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour. Their chemistry is incredible.
Remembering Bing Crosby born on May 3, 1903. He was an American singer and actor. The first multimedia star, he was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century worldwide. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bing_Crosby
I know, the adlibs were better than what was written...bing was excellent at sticking jazz talk into his recordings...just compare his record of Is you is or is you aint my baby with anyone elses version...its wild what words he snuck in...haaaahaaa
And Laverne was the funny one! In all the movies, shows and skits The Andrews Sisters are in, Laverne usually has all the hilarious lines! What they all have in common is that they're all amazing at singing and dancing!
The thumbnail just makes me think that in order from left to right the Andrews sisters are telling Bing "Your belt!" "Your tie" "Your right shoe is missing"
this is just perfect :D thankyou soo much for uploading it :) i also just realised they are supposed to be on the deck of a ship... I thought they were inside it! xD
LOVE the funny sister Patty who dances in the middle She can really get physical and cut the rug? Love her in the other videos going out on the dance floor and dancing.
These were icons of their era. Even as a kid, I loved Bob Hope movies. I actually was entranced with my mom's Bing Crosby record, which I played on her record player. I heard the Andrew Sisters on the radio, which my mom always had playing in the kitchen. To me, the current environment is screwy and completely lacks common sense. I've voted Democratic in the past, but no more. I guess I'm a conservative, if I treasure the good things about our country and forgive the bad. We have lots more good things to celebrate than bad. I notice the traffic seems to be from there to here. Not many illegals are sneaking into China. People voting with their feet come here. God bless our country and save it from idiots!

The best crossover since Norm went with kfc Since pta went with psh Since konosuba went with rezero Since Andrew and Toby met Since T cells and B cells
I just LOVE Patty's Ankle Bracelet (which she seemed to wear a lot). They're so sexy on woman. Too bad not many wear them anymore. No disrespect to Bing. But, was anyone watching him during this performance?? The girls are so wonderful that he kind of disappears in the foreground (other than his brief solo dance) and it's hard to take your eyes off of them. :)
+BeatnikRampage The funny thing is: I wrote this shortly after becoming a full-on Andrews Sisters fan and hadn't been exposed to much of their material at that point. I didn't realize (as I do now) that all 3 of the girls wore Ankle Bracelets regularly. It's hard to see in Black and White film, though. I can't wait to see the rest of their films. So far, just this one and Buck Privates, Hold That Ghost and In The Navy. It's hard to find their movies these days.
SLAYER was my favorite group for 28yrs, I'm 45. 3yrs ago I had the pleasure of becoming a full fledged Sisters fan, I'm new to the scene as well. Honestly, my life has become more relaxed now that I listen to them daily (getting old I guess). I know you can find the other movies on amazon/ebay for about $15 a pop.
+BeatnikRampage Wow! From Slayer to the Andrews Sisters. That's quite a jump! :) As you can probably tell from my avatar, I'm a huge KISS fan (the original lineup) and have been since 1977. I like a lot of their non-makeup stuff, too. But, I don't like this Tribute band they're going around as now. Anyway, I agree. The Andrews Sisters music is very relaxing and uplifting and has helped me get though the bad days. You just can't help but feel good after listening to/watching them perform one of their songs. I love Patty's spirit and playfulness. I Love them all. But, Patty's my favorite. :) I'm know I could get those other movies from E-bay or Amazon.com. But, I'm hoping that someone remasters them like they did with Buck Privates, Hold That Ghost and In The Navy. I'd only want to buy their other movies if it were a good, clean copy.
The four of them have such insanely good chemistry it’s ridiculous
You couldn't put a price on their talent.
The sound of the forties.
Both sides of the Atlantic.
Many thanks for this. 👍 🇺🇸 🇬🇧
You can't get any better then Bing and the Andrews Sisters.
@thesilverspider ABAA
Andrews, Bing, Andrews, Andrews
No, you can't.
True!
The wonderfully talented Andrew Sisters. Their uncanny and delightful harmony as singers was a joy to listen to.
Wow! Such talent from Bing and the girls. He was a nifty mover and remembered all the schtick he had to do.

My eyes were totally drawn to Bing he was smooth classy and handsome. The Andrews Sisters were also amazing performers.
The Andrews Sisters are constantly killing it in their backup roles. Their solo albums are phenomenal but music would not be the same without them supporting the vocal powerhouses that they did.
One of the great vocal combos; Bing Crosby and the Andrews sisters. Delightful musical number from 1947's Road To Rio!.
Very smooth. Nothing beats Bing and The Andrews Sisters
I love jazz, big band, and swing era! It’s so cool🥰

Bing was the BEST VOICE EVER!!
All of them are so wonderfully and loved by us all
I absolutely adore everything about this. They all have such great chemistry and clearly really enjoy performing together! I wish there were more videos of them together!
A baritone and 3 lovely ladies! What a wonder!!!
One of my favourite musical interludes ever put on film. Classy and fun.
The Andrews Sisters are great. They are incredibly talented.
I'm 21yo but really loved this music live performance,,, I really loved The andrew sisters especially Patty!!
Yo 15... The Andrews Sisters son las mejores...
There is absolutely nothing like this anymore 😔
Man, if only I could have met Bing and the Andrews sisters 🥹❤
All of them are so wonderfully loved to her tham sing
Ah the days when the actors had to be talented not just pretty faces!! Dancing, singing and acting all roled into the best.
The only prerequisites for acting back then was literally looking pretty, being able to sing, and being able to copy a transatlantic accent.

Such gorgeous, smooth, strong voices.
Simply sublime. I could listen to this five times a day.
Road to Rio is a great movie, Bill, Bob, and Dorothy...so funny...
Simply wonderful.
What a wonderful performance!
Bing and the Andrew Sisters always sparked off each other. Great stuff!
Good ad libs by Bing and Patty Andrews.
This is also one of the best of the Road series.
I always loved seeing these talented sisters in anything I watched. Thanks for your excellent entertainment. You're a true icon of Americana
I freaking love this

I think you mean Road to Morroco?
Road to Rio Bob Hope scene stealing with the horn bit,ha ha ha brilliant number
All of tham so wonderful loved to her tham song
They are so good.

When Bing asks if that eye was the good one, I don't think that was planned, watch LaVerne, especially when Patty comes back with the quick response.
I know, the adlibs were better than what was written...bing was excellent at sticking jazz talk into his recordings...just compare his record of Is you is or is you aint my baby with anyone elses version...its wild what words he snuck in...haaaahaaa
God, I wish I could sing like Bing.
Me too!
Mr. Crosby, the most talented man in Hollywood, and the best looking.
Pure 40s and it still holds up.
this is classic
I love this. One of my favorites from the Hope/Crosby films.
Просто-великолепно !!!
bing the king! Hilarious and talented
Maxene was the looker of the trio. Patty hammed it up.
And Laverne was the funny one! In all the movies, shows and skits The Andrews Sisters are in, Laverne usually has all the hilarious lines! What they all have in common is that they're all amazing at singing and dancing!
That choreography is excellent. People don't have any idea how difficult that perfect timing and coordination is.
The thumbnail just makes me think that in order from left to right the Andrews sisters are telling Bing
"Your belt!"
"Your tie"
"Your right shoe is missing"
Huh?
this is just perfect :D
thankyou soo much for uploading it :)

Love this classic combo.
We all miss Those Happy Days!!!!!
LOVE the funny sister Patty who dances in the middle She can really get physical and cut the rug? Love her in the other videos going out on the dance floor and dancing.
That is perfect.
Bob Hope making a cameo near the end 😂
He is co staring in it
The best song.
Laverne and Maxine stand out more than Patty in this one - The sheet music is so plain so it's nice to hear the true swing of it that made it a hit.
Laverne had beautiful eyes.
Anyone here from the magic of thinking big.succes is on the way keep going best of luck

pArTxTim3xGam3r Probably - however I'm also 28 and I've uploaded hundreds of Bing Crosby videos on youtube, so I'm even odder. :D

Supposing you need a vacation
Brazil is the place you should be
But you don't understand
What they're saying
Or you can't read a sign that you see
But, you don't have to know the language
With the moon in the sky
And the girl in your arms
And a look in her eyes
You stop at the Copacabana
With the Sugar Loaf mountain in view
So the words on the menu mean nothing
You can't ask a soul what to do
But, you don't have to know the language
With the moon in the sky
And the girl in your arms
And a look in her eyes
When she smiles your way
What more would you want anyone to say
So you sigh, just sigh
You don't have to mention
That Yankee phrase: "Ay, ay"
Perhaps when you end your vacation
You bring back a bit of Brazil
So you can't understand
What she's saying
You need an interpreter still
But you don't have to know the language
If you don't want to say good-bye
With the moon in the sky
And a girl in your arms
And a look in her eyes
No you don't have to know
You don't have to know
The language isn't necessary
'Cause the meaning doesn't very
The language isn't necessary
When she smiles your way
What more would you want anyone to say
So you sigh just sigh
You don't have to mention
That Yankee phrase: "Ay, Ay"
So perhaps when you end your vacation

"is that the good one?"...Miss Andrews had lost an eye to cancer, and had a glass one by the time of this movie
Hold up is this technically a music video? I had no idea there were music videos this long ago
No, es una escena musical de una película del año 40 o por ahí...
There were "Soundies" in the 1940's, which are considered the precursor of music videos
Anyone know what Bing sings after "Oh miss Andrews..."?
The best crossover since Norm went with kfc
Since pta went with psh
Since konosuba went with rezero
Since Andrew and Toby met
Since T cells and B cells
Is that Bob Hope on the trumpet?
Yes
Welcome Siltz
Bob Hope upstaging again!
Just doin' his thing! Both he and Bing knew how to make it look natural. What a team!
I think the beginning part was the first prototype of hiphop rap
Is it true that at one time Bing was engaged to marry the Mother of the Andrews Sisters?
Exactly...lol

Jana Delaney When?
At the beginning when the Andrews Sisters show off some leg and say "like this?" And he whistles and says something like "la pontina"?
