Thank you for doing the example on your phone! I searched a dozen videos until I found you showing me how to check sell through rates while sourcing as I actually would in real life!
Watched this Aug 25 2023. - Back when men’s American Eagle was a good item. Binge watching you from Montana while I do my day job cleaning houses.
You're an angel, this is beyond the most helpful video I have seen on the topic of reselling, I only wish I watched it before blowing all my cash on trash haha. But if I break even, or even loose a couple coins, I'll consider myself to be in a better position because now I have this knowledge.
LOL!! IKR!! Right now I have a ton of big black trash bags filled with crap items from the bins 😭😂 hopefully I can purge them & get some $$ back to reinvest.
Time to level up & fill my brain with valuable reselling knowledge 💪😎
@@etmezz1322 Do a job lot! Maybe a mystery box, that's what I'm considering. Although, one of the shit items I was ta
lking about just sold after 3 months for £20.
I love the orange bucket as part of the backdrop. That alone made me hit the like button
Thanks so much for explaining this. I'm a total newbie to reselling and I think I know why the 10 listings I have on eBay aren't really selling, lol. Can't get more listings until I start selling some stuff, so I may need to do some more research before blindly posting something ;).
Thank you for this detailed information on finding a sell through rate! This informative video really will help me make wise choices in the future, when sourcing clothes. 😄
Very clear and valuable video. It shows the complete workflow for doing something. Thank you!
Love your videos…have learned so much from you and I appreciate your clear presentation and that you stay on topic :)
This is very helpful video. i already followed your step and gain sime knowledges. Thank you again 😍😊
Exactly what I wanted to know! Thanks 👍😊
Thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful and encouraged me to keep going. I am part-time and still very small, but using your formula, I realized my sell through rate is decent, and now I have a better understanding of how to determine whether or not to invest in an item.
Sell through rate is everything! 😊 Wishing you tons of sales.
This is so helpful thank you!
A great help. Thank you so much.
So helpful!!! Thank you kindly. 🙏🏽
Hi Cayley, you probably know this by now, but if you need to eliminate a search criteria, you can put a minus in front if the word, such as, -lot or -cashmere, whatever the case may be and it will filter those words out.
I do know that, but this is very helpful to anyone who sees this comment! Thanks!
Great tutorial, thanks!
How come on my eBay app I cannot view the search results number? I don’t see it
Hmmm. I'm not sure. Maybe try updating the app?
As far as your first example for finding sell through rates. You mainly filtered pre-owned. Do you need to filter the buying formats? Like if you're planning on selling items auction vs buy-it-now?
I usually don't.
On Terapeak, the little info icon under sell-through reads "the percentage of similar items that sold." Has Terapeak's STR calculation changed since this video was filmed? If not, what would you say is a good STR on Terapeak? I much prefer to use Terapeak when I have many items to check, but it seems that the STR is unreliable. I wonder why they don't just change it to the STR that most resellers are already familiar with? What is the point of providing this data if it isn't really that useful?
Anyway, thank you for this video! It's very helpful.
Hello! Terepeak has definitely changed since I made this video. I'm not sure how they calculate it now. I agree! The only benefit I see right now is that it provides data longer than 3 months.
hi thank you this video is so helpful, but on my account I can't see the "results" how can I fix that
Are you using the app or desktop?
What do you recommend for items that are already listed and have a slow sell through?
My strategy is to drop prices every month on those items to get them selling even if it means I only make a few bucks. As long as I get my money back I can then invest in better selling pieces.
Im a bit confused I think. Correct me if I'm wrong. Does this mean 90% of your items never sell? And if this is not the case, what percent of items would you say never sell and at what point do you decide to remove it?
If you are referring to a typical clothing reseller's sell through rate of 10%, this means that 10% of items you have listed sell within a month. The items keep churning and some take longer than others to sell but I think eventually everything sells. If I notice items have been sitting for over a year or they are close to the end of their seasonality sometimes I will run a sale or drop the price of those items.
hi mine reads 0.1089 is that 0.8%? also when looking to see if something is good to pick up at the thrift store what is a good sell through rate there?
That would be 10.89%. I look for the same amount or more in the solds vs the available listings
When I’m on my phone it doesn’t show the number listed or total sold like yours does? How do I get that?
Here's how I do it on my phone:
ua-cam.com/video/nwXvGETCmBE/v-deo.html
If you check styles and then check comps in the thrift store, doesn’t it take forever? Seems like you’d be in the store for hours. And do you check an item as you pick it up or load up the basket and then check?
I check before I put it in the cart. Yes it takes more time up front but I'd rather do the work and not pick up a bad item than to spend all my time listings items that won't sell.
@@cayleyelaine Very true. Thank you for the reply ❤️
Great video thanks so much. Something strange here. I go to my sold listings and it is saying only 82 sold but when I check on my orders tab it is showing 462 sold for the same period? One works out at a 1.9% sell thru and the other 11.08%. Can’t work out why all my solds aren’t showing up using your method??
The solds only show the last 90 days. When you go to your orders tab, are you clicking on all orders?
@@cayleyelaine yes I am which is also showing the last 90 days
@@stefanmarcangelo6500 hmm...I'm not sure. Mine are matching up for the most part. Might want to contact ebay.
@@cayleyelaine Definitely the 462 is correct, when I compare them both there’s just lots of sales missing on one of them. Had a small moment when I thought my sell thru was 1.98% 🤣. Im much happier at 11.08%, thanks again for your help 🙏🏼
Do you price high so that you can take offers? Like if an item sold for $25, do you list it at $30?
I usually only do that for poshmark. On Ebay I try to stay within the market and do not allow offers unless it's something I'm unsure about.
@@cayleyelaine Thank you for the reply! I appreciate it!
When it comes to clothing. Have you noticed if certain sizes have better sell through rates than others regardless of the brand name?
In general larger sizes do better.
So helpful, thank you!💜🙏 (@trendstylecollective😄)
