I had so much pain, I thought I'd need hip replacement or something like that. I could barely walk. I watched this video and did your different positions and found out it was a pinched nerve in my back. I can't tell you how much relief I felt after doing these positions. Thank you so much for your help, you saved me a doctor's visit and so much stress. You guys are amazing. I am 74 yrs old and feel like your excercises are mild enough for seniors.

    OMG!!!!!
I just came across you guys and I am beyond grateful!!!
I’ve been a pet stylist for 15+ years and have suffered many injuries.
The worst injury happened 9 years ago and effects me daily.
My L-4 & L-5 suffered damage and an MRI showed I have both a slipped disc and either a herniated or bulging disc.
I was then referred to a physical therapist who showed me various stretches and exercises to help alleviate the discomfort…end of story!!
I’m constantly suffering pain, some days are WAY worse than others and the only source of relief is my back brace during those unbearable days.
I am going on a serious binge to watch ALL your content to get a better understanding of what’s going on with these types of injuries when they occur, nerve damage, long term effects, etc.
You both are absolutely amazing, intelligent, highly educated and most importantly (for me personally) a sense of humor!!!!
That in itself was the second motivating factor, first was finding a professional who specializes in this medical field and finding general knowledge of my situation.
Anyone can tell you’re both SO passionate about what you do!

I did your series of stretches to see what the likely cause of the pain was and by the end of the video the pain had suddenly stopped. Fantastic. It’s amazing how you nailed all my problems that have been eventually addressed but only after seeing numerous providers and many costly studies. But you guys addressed them in under 20 minutes. Most notably the nerve pain and Si joint issues. Leg length discrepancy and pinpoint pain over the SI with pain that radiated to the front hip, thigh and knee. The left was so out of alignment it twisted my pelvis causing my piriformis muscle to trap my nerve causing sciatica down to my outer calf and ankle.

Good video guys. I've had a problem with my QL and Psoas muscles. Basically I started road biking a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I rode for long periods of time in and bad position which led to those muscles on the right side of my lumbar spine to really tighten up. I ignored it for a long time until it eventually compressed a disc so much that it started causing my calves to have constant mini-spams due to nerve root irritation. After months of therapy it's finally almost completely subsided. It took everything from lumbar extensions, to the theracane, ice, massage, inversion table and core strengthening to get somewhat normal again.

Even though I understand a lot about the back having gone through the surgeries and through tons of physical therapy and I worked in the medical field for 15 years I found it very interesting to watch and the different signs to look for to try to determine whether it’s muscle nerve or desk. I can usually tell the difference just by the pain but I don’t think everybody would be able to.. @ Kristina Knapp I want to thank you for sharing your story. I'm in so much excruciating pain I can't hardly walk. I don't understand a lot of this. I'm scared beyond belief. I was supposed to have a Via disc minimal surgeries two weeks apart. My insurance company said I was approved. This was back in March I got approved. Then I got a call in less than a week before the surgeries were to take place that my insurance company was not going to pay for it. I got an MRI scan and my lower spine is collapsing. I have degenerate disc disease and pinched nerve. I don't know what to do. Could you please send me a post here
And I'll check it. My husband passed away and I don't know what to do. He always helped me. Thanks again

    248...? :)
5 years ago I had severe low back pain like a knife in my spine for about 2 weeks and could barely walk.
From the "Motivational Doc" channel tip, I slept on my back with a pillow under my knees and thighs and noticed a slight improvement the next AM. Did this for 5 days and it cured me!
Several times after I quit using the pillow, I've noticed the pain coming back, and reusing the pillow has cured it.
About a year ago I started getting a severe hip pain while sitting and could barely drive my car and sit at home. I suffered about 2 weeks and thought since my hip and lower back are joined maybe the pillow would help my hip. The pillow cured my hip in about 4-5 days.
Also from a sports doc tip, I cured myself about 10 years ago from severe (head forward) shoulder neck pain by sleeping on my back with a medium towel rolled up in a pillow case held by rubber bands under my neck. It works! 😀

Great advice & information guys! Your channel is fantastic! I was born 2lbs and had many health problems the worst being born with dislocated hips and both legs wrapped behind my shoulders. This was a delayed diagnosis so unlike with all our updated technology we have today to strap a baby in a harness to correct this issue, mine consisted of many operations, my first when I was about 2 years old. physical theraphy, pool theraphy, steroids and cortisone injections, any and every otc medicine, & prescription anti inflammatory and muscle relaxers, release of tendons and muscles operations, traction, full body casts 3 different times, a leg machine that consisted of strapping one leg to this machine that would keep pushing my leg up and down I had to use this day and night for months to keep the muscles loose. I had to wear special shoe inserts to raise my shorter leg up to equalize the length with the other leg. I have metal and screws and wires in both hips and zero cartilage left in my hip joints and my joints have fused with my pelvis bone I have no rotation or range of motion what so ever in both hips I suffer from pain all my life and have always walked with a terrible limp/gait. It' puts strain on my back and tail bone and my spine and knees and feet. I just turned 30 years old last week and over the past 5 years my pain has increased so much the older I get I finally had to resort to opiate pain management something I refused all my life until I just couldn't bare it anymore. For the past two years I've been on pain medication which does work but with having to keep up on the doses and not miss because I'd start to withdrawal I feel like there's no hope for any relief. Yes as for me this pain medication help outweighs the risks. Yet I still feel like with a name of oxycodone and OxyContin I feel somewhat embarrassed and ashamed that I have to resort to this just so that I can walk today just so that I can bend over to pick up something off the floor with out screaming in pain. But at the same time there's gotta be a better way. I was told my only option is a complete hip replacement and the doctors said my case was on a scale of 10+ being the most complicated operation they'll have to do and have ever seen and will have to go for a more old fashioned approach of the incision behind instead of the front because of my previous operations. Most times I live happy but sometimes when pain is unbearable I wish I hadn't been born at all. I suffer daily for stiffness and I have severe arthritis. To top it off all the people who laugh snicker and stare. I'd like to go to the grocery store and not take the electric scooter from the store. After every operation I've had to relearn how to walk. It's hard to get by day to day when all that's going on in your body is pain. At the same time there's people who's in a much worse situation than I am. Hopefully one day my legs can be fixed and I can walk like a normal person. Thank you for talking the time to read my story. ❤️

Keep your positive attitude, like you had said there are others out there that have it worse than you... This is what I tell myself as well when I just want to give up. You reach a point with constant pain where you don't want to try living anymore..... But life is pain. Some of us just have to deal with more than others.... OMG, thank you for this! I literally got out of the hospital on yesterday. I was just slightly bending over to get food for my dog(I wasn't even lifting anything) and this stabbing sharp pain hit me in my back. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis this past year. Anywhoo I went to the ER and the doctor there diagnosed me with a back muscle strain, and quadracept strain. Now, I'm no doctor, but the quadracept is the leg right, not the back. The doctor didn't even touch me, just an x-ray, robaxin 1000mg, and some nsaid for pain. Great, it worked, but now I feel the exact same way I did before. I'm so glad I found your video, and I immediately subscribed. I sat with left leg on the couch, other on the floor, flexed my toes back, there's that awful pain, then I slummped, and looked down, it got significantly worse. I will be making an appointment with my spine doc in the morning. Thank you for this again!!!

I had a massage on Monday. It's now Thursday. I've been in AGONY ever since.
I went into massage having given myself some relief from the Dagger in the back feeling (upper right chicken wing area) and the addition of the massage seemed to slightly help on top of the relief I gave myself with the back buddy the night before.
I did have my massage therapist work out my left hip REALLY hard as it's been very sore and tight and feels like it's been locked up for about the last 2 months. I didn't have her go too deep on my back, though given the depth of my pain, I did have her go fairly deep.
I have a long history of extreem issues all up and down my entire spine.
I have 3 herniated disc's (L4,L5,S1) from a slip and fall injury in 2000. I have suffered through severe spasms in my low back, but over the last 22 years (pre and post low back injury) I've had massive spasms in my neck, and shoulder blades.
This pain I've been having for the last 3/4 days though is difficult than any I recall having. I tried your tests. I think I can rule out nerve damage, which I had considered as I have had some pain going down my leg, but not like sciatica which I've had and understand.
I do have a history of Facet joint pain and problems.
But after just dropping my son off at school today and being at a level 15 on a scale of 1-10, I came in and tried to first stretch on the floor in crisscross applesauce style, and was very tight. I then laid my left hip flexor area on my hard foam roller and watched your video. As I laid there my low back pain began to release a bit. I did your tests and feel this is muscle, so that's helpful, but I'm not sure what to do other than ice/ heat/ tiger balm, Epsom bath, gentle stretches....
I guess if you see this and can respond and can give me an idea of which muscle and what might help, that would be great! I'm a pretty good detective when it comes to my body given decades of pain and lots of self care.
As I sit her criss-cross applesauce, if I look down I feel mild tightness, but the moment I take my back from straight and erect to allowing the lowback to go convex at ALL, I feel that pain come right back. It refers to my left hip.
If I lean right or left- Pain.
Sitting tall and erect, less back pain, more hip.
The motion required to be sitting on the toilet is the WORST.
    Please- help!

At only my mid 20s I've got back and neck issues that not many people can relate to and it makes me feel alone at times. These videos really inspired me to try and keep a bit healthier and try harder.
The work I love and do is very physical at times and I hate missing day's. I once had a Dr tell me I just need to give up that work and find a desk job and stop riding my bikes as it irritates my issues at times. Something like that at my age can make a person feel lower than low and sent me into a bad depression for a bit. Needless to say I dropped that Dr and have been doing a bit better for the time being and still working. Although I don't ride my bikes as much now I try to remain active. Much of what I Know is going on and to avoid is thanks to this channel. Thank you.

It's amazing, what you start to describe at 3:00 is what I've been suffering since December 17th, 2014 non stop, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even in my sleep. The cause??? One of the biggest mistakes in my life: I-Fuse surgery. I woke up during the surgery from the agonizing pain, apparently one of the rods pinched a nerve that exits into my left leg. Everything you guys describe is what I feel. Did i say 24 hours a day???? 7 days a week??? Yes, that is correct. I had a revision performed 6 weeks later, had I known I would have had them remove all 3 rods. Don't let anyone perform this surgery before doing all you homework and then some. I wish I was near you guys, I pray for the day that I wake up and there is no more pain in my foot, THAT'S the worst part, I wish I could see you guys in person, I've been watching you guys for years and I love you both, thank you for doing what you do, I'm now suffering from pain in my hip, it feels like spasms in the pelvis region and both hips, especially the right one, gonna watch this video over and over again and hopefully....
